Research Methodology Project Work: The Road-Map

The following steps have to be covered by you for completing the BRM mini-project.

A. First-round evaluation (10 marks out of total 50 marks)

1. Selection of a good topic (which is relevant, interesting & implementable; please select 2 topics
initially, for each group);
2. Review of literature {by way of referring 6 (for each topic) research articles, closely related to your
main topics);
3. A brief/ rough-sketch on: Issues, questions/ hypothesis and research/sample design (2-page write-
up to be submitted to both the teachers as hard & soft copy) on the research topic of a Group.
[First presentation on all above, in class-room. Teacher decides/ recommends one as final topic. B

B. Second round evaluation (10 marks out of total 50 marks)

4. Go for a questionnaire (which is structured, neatly designed with clear, self-explanatory questions.
Around 15-20 questions preferred. Relate it to the issues/ questions/ hypo., you have selected for
your topic); get it verified/ okayed from teachers; take 50 xerox-copies; go for primary survey/
canvassing of your questionnaire. [teachers will verify each of the 50 filled-in questionnaire]
5. Review of literature (Though you have already done article-wise, for 5 different research articles of
your area, now you have to just put everything together, at-one-go, in a summary format in word
file. Combined/comprehensive summary of all related research articles, that u have so far referred.
6. Introduction chapter of project/dissertation: Introduce the selected topic & all general-issues
involved in it, in an essay-form (u can supplement this, with secondary data/ information). In about
5-10 pages. [This is to be kept/ used for final dissertation.]
7. Introducing key concepts/ terms: Each project topic would be dealing with (directly or indirectly)
many new/interesting terms/ concepts (like a few examples, as listed below), which u might have
got from the articles u have referred (or going to use on your own). These are to be defined/
explained in conceptually clear terms. Pl. refer again to your lit.-review-ppt-slides (or the selected-
articles), and enlist 5-10 such terms/ concepts, which u feel should of interest to the readers of your
final dissertation. Explain very briefly (in 3/ 4 lines), such terms (in word file).
[Second round of presentation on above (4-7); teachers guides/ suggests for improvement, if any. C
