Throughout this section (and at other points in the year), we have discussed and explored various
challenges and opportunities of Economic Globalization.

Create a magazine cover that answers the question above. You will need to follow these steps:

Brainstorming:
□ Turn to the second page in this booklet.
□ Select 5 reasons why aspects of economic globalization.
□ Fill in the Challenges and Opportunities chart.
□ Rate appropriately.
□ Rank the items from most likely to contribute to most likely to limit sustainable prosperity.
□ Make a decision. Which side do you agree with more…does globalization likely to do more to
contribute or limit sustainable prosperity for everyone?
□ Select the three most significant reasons why.
□ Turn to the third page in this booklet.
□ Fill in your top 3 reasons.
□ In point form, list the evidence why these are the three most significant reasons.
□ Create one powerful headline for each piece of evidence.
□ Create an effective magazine name. It should identify where you sit on the “challenges vs
opportunities” line.

Put it together:
□ Use the internet to find (and save) an image that reflects your stance.

o Upload the image you saved.
o Select layout to best match number of headlines
o Insert:
 Magazine title
 Your name into the tagline
 3 headlines into the appropriate line spot

o Change font colors
□ Preview your magazine. Make sure it looks fabulous. If you need to change it, click EDIT.

□ Save as magazine.

Adding Evidence:
□ Open Microsoft word and insertpicture from file.
□ Insert your magazine cover.
□ Add callouts (bubbles) that include your reasons to support your headlines.
o Click InsertPictureAutoshapes.
o Click the one that looks like comment bubbles in
cartoon books.
o Click and hold on your document where you would like to place the callout.
o Right click and select “Add Text”
o Type in your evidence
o Resize your callout based on the amount of evidence you
have provided
o You can move the pointed part to point at your headline by
 clicking on the callout
 Click and hold on the yellow diamond that shows up
here
 Drag to the headline and let go
o NOTE: your callouts do NOT need to be right beside the headline. You can move the
callout bubble to an empty spot on your page and drag the pointer to your headline.
□ Print and hand in.
