Rule 3

List of designated persons for the purpose to operate and maintain electric lines & apparatus to be prepared & a register of designated persons are to be maintained. To be produced before electrical inspector as & when demanded ( Rule 4)

Rule 3

No person to be designated unless he is having a certificate of competency or electrical work permit issued by the state government

Rule -5 Electrical safety officer

An electrical safety officer needs to be designated for ensuring observance of electrical safety regulations Degree with 10 yrs or Diploma with 15 yrs experience Required for electricity generation, transmission & distribution and factories with a connected load of more than 250 KW

Rule 11- General safety requirements

All electrical apparatus shall be of sufficient rating for power, insulation and estimated fault current and of sufficient mechanical strength for the duty cycle for which they may be subjected under the environmental condition and shall be constructed , installed ,operated and maintained in such a manner to ensure safety to human beings,animals and property

Rule 11

Equipments and materials used shall be confirming to relevant BIS codes / IEC codes. BIS codes are to be followed for the purpose of the rule 11 regulation.
