Little Wing Acoustic Transcription

This tune is a bit of a marathon! A fair amount of it is based on fairly standard chord shapes so its not too difficult to get the gist of it. The crosses at the start of the tab are percussive clicks (mute with your left hand). A note with a line either side of it is a natural harmonic. The only part of the transcription that may cause confusion is the angled arrow. This is a roll. If you watch the video closely you can see that I start some chords on the root note and slightly separate the notes as I roll up to the high note. Its a fairly common technique, so its well worth practicing. If you really struggle with this (and many have!) you could either pick all notes together or just pick the lowest and highest notes in unison. I will also slightly stagger root notes and melody notes slightly as this makes the melody stand out a little more.

Some of the runs in the solo section are difficult especially on an acoustic so be careful, its easy to strain wrist ligaments!

I hope that you enjoy playing the tune. Ive posed a close up video on YouTube which should help.

Regards, Les Cheetham.
