What caused overheating of cables or sockets?
Circuit breaker will turn off all the circuits house in a very short time if an earth leakage current of more than 25mA occurs A fuse is a safety device which protects the wiring if something goes wrong and it prevents large current from flowing
Connecting too many electrical appliances into the same power outlet If all these appliances are used at the same time, the total current drawn by them through the electrical cable from the mains supply may be large The large current causes the cables or sockets to be overheated Overloaded sockets may also caused overheating Overloading and overheating of cables and sockets may result in fire
1. Dont stand on a wet surface or make sure youre dry 2. Turn off the source of electricity. Turning off the device may not help, you may need to unplug it or even turn off the circuit breaker 3. Use non-conductive materials to pull victims from the appliance 4. Make sure you use the nonconductive material to pull the victim away. Otherwise you might also be electrocuted
Put safety plugs into unused power point sockets to prevent accidental contact
Dont overload the power points circuit, the overloaded cables may be overheated.
