My friends, most of us have experience pain when we could not help a person we love. Jesus knew that
same pain when his good news was rejected by his own community, his neighbors, and friends. As we
pray today, let us commend to God those people we love, remembering that God loves them even more.

Reflection Question
Do I realize that I am called to be a prophet, like
Ezekiel, Paul and Jesus? What am I doing to
deepen my life with Christ in order to fulfill this
mission, given to me at Baptism? How do I deal
with my own weakness? Can I echo the words of
Paul that “when I am weak, then I am strong”?
This rewarding ministry is both challenging and fulfilling. You can expect to spend about three hours a
week in preparation and class time. Catholic men and women need to step forward to teach our faith to
the young people of our parish. Please speak to Mrs. Maria Pacheco (CCD Coordinator) or call the
Rectory at 236-9866 if you are interested in helping.
He would love to hear from his former parishioners during this difficult period in his life.
Attention! Wednesday, July 18 will be the last ‘Quiet Wednesday’ until September 12. There will be
exposition until 5:15 p.m. and Bishop Kurtz will celebrate Mass at 6:00 p.m. All are welcome.
Special Evening of Prayer -- A special Evening of Prayer will be held at Caritas on Sunday, July 15 at
6:30 p.m. All are invited but a special invitation is extended to those who made the “At-One-Ment” Retreat
in February. How is our Everyday God leading us during these summer days?
For more information on the many activities available at Caritas, please contact Sr. Judith at 236-5877 or
by e-mail: bcaritas@northrock.bm.
The St. Vincent de Paul are grateful to everyone who is already a part of this programme. However, they
need ADULT MALE VOLUNTEERS. They would be very pleased if a “Few Good Men” would examine
their hearts from within and consider donating their time. There are 8 teams scheduled over an 8-week
period. As each team consists predominantly of women, St. Vincent de Paul would like to add some men
to each team. Every person would have a turn once every 8 weeks. If interested, please contact Joanne
Judd at 295-3354 or judd@northrock.bm to discuss further.
Question #2
Who ran the Catholic Church after John Paul II died and before Benedict XVI was elected?
Answer
During an interregnum (Latin: "between reigns"), the day-to-day business of the Church is administered
by the cardinal camerlengo (chamberlain). The camerlengo during the interregnum of 2005 was Eduardo
Cardinal Martinez Somalo. The camerlengo does not make any decisions that are not of immediate
necessity to the administration of the Church. Any decision that is not urgent to the running of the Church
is postponed until a new pope is elected.
Question #3
Can a non-Catholic Christian groom receive Communion at his Catholic wedding?
Answer
No, the non-Catholic may not receive Communion at a Catholic wedding. Actually, not all Catholics may
receive Communion. Only those who are in a state of grace can receive the Eucharist. To receive
Communion in the Catholic Church is a sign of complete acceptance of Catholic teaching. It is also a sign
of complete unity among believers. Unfortunately, Catholic and non-Catholic Christians still do not share
such unity. At present, the mutual reception of Communion by Catholics and non-Catholics would not be
an honest sign. Because of the inability of non-Catholic Christians to receive Communion, Catholics who
are marrying a non-Catholic are usually encouraged not to have a Mass as part of their nuptial liturgy.
