~ Lets Join together to pray for a new Pastor ~

The Pastoral Search Committee has been seeking a new pastor for many months. We have considered many names, but have not yet found the person God has chosen for us. We have decided that starting this week we will meet each week on Thursday evening at 7:30 pm in Church House to pray that God will direct us to the person of His choosing. We invite any of you to join us in prayer each week. This will be a time of prayer for a new pastor only. It will not be an extended time, but it is one way that we can all be involved in asking God to lead us to our new pastor. 2 Chronicles 7:14 Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. Moderator David Hodgens PSC members - Susan Atwell, Jan Westlake, Jolene Adams, Nathan McLean, Jim Blake

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. Col. 4:2

An old friend leaves us

Enid White passed away this week just after her 90th birthday. A Thanksgiving Service was held in our church on Thursday. Enid's family (the Harmers) have a long history within the Portland and surrounding community. While Enid did not have a close association with our church over recent years, she was actively involved in our community, mainly through her long career as a nursing Sister. Enid was well known across many community organisations. Her family described her as a wise and loving person, ever ready to be helpful and with a quiet sense of humour and keen wit. Her family have been assured of our love and prayers for them as they experience the loss of a much loved Mother.
Many thanks to all those who assisted so ably with the service and a wonderful afternoon tea. Your efforts were very much appreciated

Our weekly Prayer Group meeting is held each Tuesday at the Church House from 10:30-11:30am. Everyone is encouraged to join in this vital ministry. You will find a very warm welcome there!
