2012 Theme: Navigating our Way in a Changing Church
About 170 priests gathered in Warrnambool during the past week from all Dioceses throughout Australia. We gather to support one another and to share how priesthood and ministry are for the priests in these present times. We were helped through the input from Fr Timothy Radcliffe, Sr Veronica Lawson, Mr Chris McGillion and Fr Peter Brock. I thank the local Warrnambool Committee (Gary Walsh, Noel McNeil, Peter Lafferty, Leanne McElgunn, Brian Callaghan and Pat Gleeson) for their generous assistance at all times. I thank the parishioners for their attendance at the Eucharist on Thursday evening and the St Josephs Choir for their outstanding performance in leading us in song during the Eucharist. Centacare: There are copies available this weekend of Centacares July Report. It highlights many of their achievements in supporting the community through programs and services in mental health, homelessness & advocacy, family relationships & family and youth services. Sea Sunday: You are invited to stay a while after Mass and watch this weekends PowerPoint which focuses on the lives of those who spend their working lives at sea, bringing to Australia the goods that enable us to enjoy our lives.
