I dont consider myself a pro player by any means.

There are plenty of better pla yers out there then me. Many of the tips in here come from getting owned myself over the years, and trying everything you could possibly imagine to improve my g ameplay. Some of these could be applied to any shooter game you will ever play, on any system. Many of the tips here are strictly for SDM and TDM modes. Dont gi mp your team in conquest or rush because you care about your stats. The majority of this is simply common sense. But after playing so many FPSers on the compute r, i figure i mine as well share some secrets i have learned or read about throu ghout the years. I have some vague weapon listings down at the bottom from the limited amount of time that i spent with them. But more importantly, i mention how to find the gun you will be spending the majority of your time with(you will see what i mean). There are some general aiming tips, and some tips on what attachements to use ac cording to what kind of player you are down at the bottom. But, i dont go into g reat detail for the attachments. Theres also not much mentioned about sniping or the recon kit, mainly because i think you can find a better guide from an exper ienced sniper. As for myself, ive been playing FPSers on the computer since the original counte r-strike(not source), and many of the more general tips, tactical tips, and aimi ng tips have come from well over a decade of experience in shooter games. Ive al so played the BF series since the the original. I tend to enjoy deathmatches mor e then the other game modes because im the run and gun kind of guy. I still enjo y tank whoring on a conquest server with some friends tho. I might write up a gu ide for conquest/rush modes sometime down the road, but atm im having so much fu n just in deathmatches. I was also going to do a tactics guide for the maps, but i think ill just keep that to myself so i can still own some noobs here and the re occasionally(and im pretty sick of writing this piece of shit guide too). Also, im not what you might consider a "guide writer" by any means, or a writer period, as you can see there is no table of contents or anything. This is actual ly my first guide ive ever written about anything. Excuse my spelling and lack o f punctuation as well, as im writing this in notepad without a spell check and h avent put 's in barely any words since i was in school. And anything thats abbre viated, its most likely "cause" im a horrible writer and im just used to typing out words like that. So if your a goodie two-shoes about proper sentence structu re, spelling, neatness, or anything like that... just leave now before this melt s your brain like the 12 or so yrs. of smoking weed has done to mine.

These are in no specific order and i keep adding to them as i think of things. T his list started out with me originally adding only about 10 tips, so enjoy.

-1. Play the gamemodes that are catered towards K/D ratio. Squad rush is not inc luded as I cant find servers for it anyways. Avoid rush by all means if you care about this at all. The defending team is act ually in a decent position to rack up some good kills here or there. If you are hardheaded and do decide to play rush, good luck attacking. All of this is null and void if you sit back and gimp your team by not playing the objectives. This could be conquest if you rolled with a squad and possibly had somebody repa iring your tank, or were good in helis/jets. But most likely you will want to en tirely avoid this game mode unless your simply beast in a vehicle. You could pro bably snipe and get away with it too, but put down a laser designator for your t

eam's engineers, and tell em its up at the very least. Your still gimping your t eam without that lazer, unless your holding down a flag from a distance. Squad deathmatch is a bit more hectic then team deathmatch, its great if you got a full squad of friends. But expect to get killed more often if your a lone wol f. Remember there is usually an IFV on this map. So grab it whenever possible, e ven if you suck in it. It will definately give a nice boost to kills for your te am. Even if your bad in it, it takes away the crazy boost a good player will get in it. To top that off, it forces most people to spawn with the engi kit to kil l you, further boosting your team ahead of them cause they are using a kit they might not be the best with. Most importantly, try not to cry when you get owned by the tank. Its in this mode for a reason, which brings us to the "fair" versio n of the deathmatches. Team deathmatch is the real bread and butter. The spawns are still very sketchy, but i can guarantee this mode will be the one you spend most of your time in if you care about stats.

-2. Always use the tactics/guns your good with, never use the ones your terrible with. If your an awesome camper, but not very good at the run and gun, stick to campin g. Dont be the noob I shoot in the face when I round a corner. Make me the noob rounding the corner being shot by you. There are maps where camping is clearly s uperior compared to run and gun, so try to get good at doing both. Same deal with guns. If your a completionist like me, and you want all your guns to have all the unlocks for them, then expect a sharp decline in your stats. Fi nd a gun your good with, and stick with it! I cannot stress that enough. Dont wo rry tho, ill stress that some more(alot more) down at the bottom.

-3. Get to know each map like the back of your hand Its going to be rough starting out at this point, its always an uphill battle ag ainst vets that have been playing since launch that know the maps very well. Get to know all the camping spots, all the quickest/safest routes for flanking, and all the best sniper spots. Then use all of these to your advantage according to what setup/kit your running with.

-4. ALWAYS use cover This is self explanatory, theres a little trick tho if you can find a crate or b ox with proper height to it. This game actually lets you shoot at people when yo ur gun is not even above the cover you are behind. So find a nice little crate t hat you can crouch behind, leaving only the very top of your head exposed to get an easy kill on somebody that will have trouble returning fire. Always put a medkit down right beside you if your behind cover and engaging the enemy. As your being shot at, your healing yourself the whole time. Instead of h aving 100% health, you now have around 105-135% health since its healing you the whole time. This is why i still take the med-kit over the nade launcher.

-5. Know what do do when being shot at while out in the open If your ever being shot at from any distance by rifles/machine guns/semi-auto sn iper rifles and you dont know exactly where the shooter is, always sprint for co ver. You can toss in a few jumps if you want along the way, but be careful about that, cause you might simply jump right into the burst fire that would have nor mally went over your head. Suprisingly, hurdling over boxes or short fences is a ctually OP in this game. Because i have seen people hurdle over obstacles and sk ip as much as 5-8 feet on my screen upon landing(it was not lag, its just buggy i guess). But keep in mind that the hurdles are so buggy in this game, you could try to jump over a fence 5x and go nowhere. Dont ever try to turn around and engage your shooter if you have no idea where h e is. Dont ever go prone out in the open if you dont know where he is, thinking your a smaller target. Dont ever try to hide behind a healthpack or any cover th at is not solid if the shooter knows you are there. You always run for SOLID cov er, period. If its a bolt action sniper rifle thats firing on you, the best thing to do is s print like a madman, while strafing in very erratic patterns(never a predictable or steady one) the whole way. Definately toss in a few jumps along the way, but get to cover asap. Only ever engage other shooters out in the open if you BOTH have no cover. This could also be an alright time to go prone, but if your opponent is decent, you w ill die trying this. It takes 1/8-1/2? second or so(cant remember exactly) to go prone and be able to ADS again. If you have been using the prone trick successf ully, its only because the ppl you are up against suck, or your doing it right a nd using this trick only at long range. Remember that you can no longer dolphin dive in this game, its not bf2. Crouching is also dicey, because when your oppon ent lets his crosshairs reset in-between bursts, your head is usually right in t he middle of them. Heres a small trick that most ppl never think about doing if they are pretty low on health while being shot at out in the open. You can toss down a medkit that will heal you for about 6% or so of your hp while you run over it while dashing to cover. This has saved my life more times then i can count, no joke. If you ma ke it to cover with 5% or less hp, this saved your life. The disadvantage to thi s is that you wont be able to drop another healthpack for about 15 or so seconds after you dropped the last one.

-6. Always avoid situations that you do not do well against, and take advantage of the ones your good at. Im terrible against decent snipers from a distance. So if i want to engage them, ill literally run all the way around the back end of the map just to kill them. For campers, try to toss a nade towards the doorway they are at to explode a po ssible claymore up there, then burst through the smoke after it explodes and try to kill him. Dont be suprised if he kills you though, as a good camper tends to be very hard to take down if he has a very advantageous position. Basically, if your a beast up close, then engage up close, its that simple.

-7. Use your mini-map all the time. This is one of the biggest things i notice ppl never seem to do. They will cry h acks when you know where they are at when you round a corner. These are the guys

that dont spot or use the mini-map. That is why they dont understand how you kn ow where they are. You can gain very valuable intel if you get really good at pa ying attention to this mini-map. When enemies fire their gun without a suppresso r attached, they show up on this map. Just watch where your teammates are dying at, it gives away ppl that are flanking with a suppressor if you watch for dead teammates. Keep an ear out for suppressors on guns btw, as these ppl do not show up on the mini-map when they fire. I do not make the mini-map bigger with w/e t he default key is, as i think it puts a huge blindspot on your screen in the low er left corner. I do however, zoom the mini-map in and out. That allows you to s ee where some of the snipers are when its zoomed out. You can also see what corn er ppl are hiding around when you are in close-quarter combat as its zoomed in. I usually keep the mini-map zoomed all the way in, cause im a close quarters kin d of guy, so adjust where you will keep your zoom at normally according to what kind of player you are. Your mini-map is your most valuable tool when used in co njuction with......

-8. Spotting Spotting is gigantic, i have no words to describe how valuable this really is. I literally mash this button when im trying to find ppl hiding in bushes or when i think I see a sniper. I will add that you will lose some possible kills here b y using it all the time, because your team will kill these ppl too. But, the tra deoff is that you wont die as often due to having backup from your teammates. Re member, your K/D ratio is cool and all, but your here to help your team win over that. This still works for you in hardcore, you will hear "enemy spotted" if th eres somebody hiding in the bushes, your teammates just wont see them on their m ini-map. I still spam this button in hardcore mode, just not as often.

-9. Get used to using a suppressor if you flank. This has become my all time favorite attachment, ive easily gotten around 1000+ of my kills just because i use it over the tac light most of the time. It hides you on the mini-map so the decent players that actually look at the map dont kno w your behind them till it too late. It does have a pretty big impact on your lo ng range combat tho, and makes your bullets do less damage and have more drop on them then normal in these situations, so keep that in mind.

-10. Use the tac light if your camping, and bring some claymores too. Dont be the guy sitting up in the window with the tac light on however, this is a big mistake and you might recieve a few bullets right in the face. Expect a gr enade launched up there or a missle very soon if you do that. When enemies come up the stairs is when you want to turn this on. Now, you not only have the heigh t advantage over them, but you also have a flashlight shined right into their fa ce. You are always at an advantage in this situation, thats why you take the tac light over the suppressor because you WANT to bait people into running up the s tairs after you. Remember, you show up on the mini-map when you fire and your gu n does not have a suppressor on it. Even better then this strategy tho, is to ho p out of that window and run up behind them as they are running up the stairs to kill you, this is almost a guaranteed kill unless the other guy thinks like thi s or has a teammate following him. Just watch your health, dont commit suicide f rom fall damage. I not a big fan of claymores mostly because i die from them far too often due to

being impatient. I wont argue that they are a campers wet dream. Putting these at the bottom of a staircase is your best bet, just remember where you always ge t killed by them. This is where most people tend to put them to rack up the free kills. So remember to walk/crouch past them when you think they are going to be there. Oh and btw, they stay on the map after you die and respawn, but you can only ever have 2 of them down at a time.

-11. Always put health/ammo packs down for the team and yourself, but watch revi ving people. Its all about the win. If your teammates need health or ammo, give it to them as ap so they can get back into combat quickly to continue racking up kills for you r team. But not at the expense of you rushing out into the open and dying. As th is is a free kill for the other team if you do that. Same deal with reviving peo ple, NEVER run out into the open to revive somebody. Always look first and kill whoever killed him, then revive him. Its usually too late then, so put revives i n the back of your mind. These are a bunch of free points you are passing up, bu t in TDM and SDM reviving is usually more harmful then it is good, unless you ca n revive him by only exposing yourself briefly, or you can do so from behind cov er. Another big reason that revives tend to be more harmful then good, is becaus e so many players just blindly accept the revive, only to die again immediately. The same deal goes to accepting revives, be very careful about that and always try to crawl back behind cover before actually accepting the revive. Yes, you ca n crawl behind cover first before hitting the accept revive key. This is so the other team does not get credit for another kill if you accept it and die again r ight after. That only puts your team further behind. Always put a medkit down right beside you if your behind cover and engaging the enemy. As your being shot at, your healing yourself the whole time. Instead of h aving 100% health, you now have around 105-135% health since its healing you the whole time. This is why i still take the med-kit over the nade launcher. You see that teammate shooting you in the face with his pistol? He needs ammo, G IVE IT TO HIM. Im pretty harsh, ive team killed many support guys(on hardcore) j ust to grab their kits and drop ammo down cause i followed them half-way across the map screaming i need ammo. I give fair warning tho, and even say something i n team chat to them specifically before blowing their heads off. Then i pick my kit back up and revive them just because im a nice guy. I justify this by the fa ct that if hes so bad he dont know what an ammo box is, mine as well TK him for ammo so i can get back into the fray and start contributing to the kill count. T his is no laughing matter, drop your ammo packs at ALL times if any teammates ar e around. Even if you tend to forget about ammo packs, always drop one at the sp awn point or something, ppl can run all the way back there if they need ammo. Th ere is no "i blame it on dice for making it so hard to see who needs ammo", thos e types of excuses are only for the deaf and blind.

-12. Avoid lopsided servers If you hop into a clan's server, and see the whole clan on one team(im talking m ore then half the other team is all skilled clan members), just save yourself th e headache and leave. Their server will eventually gain a reputation for being u nbalanced among the dedicated TDM and SDM players. It will inevitibly die slowly over time, and people will never go there anymore. You will be spawn camped and pinned down in your own spawn till the game ends. So just leave, even toss in a few "choice" words before you do. This isnt to piss them off or anything, this is to let them know how uneven their server is, so they might make better attemp

ts in the future to fix that problem. But its up to them if they do, it is their server after all.

-13. Try playing on lower populated servers This is a pretty big one, i tend to play on servers with no more then 32 people max. 16-24 seems to be the sweet spot for not getting blown up randomly and spaw n killed every other life. On 32-64 man servers, expect to take many rpgs to the face and to spend the majority of your time popping out only to launch a rocket down the hall then retreating as 5 more are launched your way. This is fine for conquest or rush on big maps, but the smaller maps that deathmatch servers are meant for are far too hectic with 32-64 ppl on them. You might find you like the se servers however, and if you can manage to do well on them go for it.

-14. Your grenade is not the worthless hunk of metal you think it is Even though you cant cook it, its an extremly powerful anti-camper weapon. If yo u suspect somebody of camping in a certain spot but just arent completely sure, you toss this in that general direction. If a camper is there, he will shout "LO OK OUT ITS A GRENADE", allowing you to promply round that corner and cap him. Im pretty certain they shout this if the nade is actually in range of damaging the m, or is thrown right past them. So be careful of the latter, as you might get k illed coming around that corner because he now knows your coming.

-15. Forget about many of the medals you could get. Dont go for the melee medal, or the handgun medal, or any medal your trying to get and keep dying because of it. This will undoubtably tank your K/D ratio in quick fashion. A few of these medal s you will end up getting in the long run anyways. My point here is dont put you rself in a bad situation, running behind people trying to knife them while they turn around and cap you in the face. Or, if your terrible like me dont try to fl y a jet 50+ times only to crash 1/4th of the time and get owned the other 3/4ths of the time by the decent pilots.

-16. Watch out where you go prone at, and what your hiding behind If your inside a building for instance, do not go prone on the corner of a build ing. Your legs will actually pop out and be visible from outside of the building . Dont be like the 20+ support campers ive killed this way when they had a bipod up at the corner of a stairwell, and their legs are just hanging out of the bui lding. The same rule applies to anywhere you go prone, be mindful of where your feet might hang out from. And watch going prone out in the open, you can easily be spotted and die before you have the chance to stand back up to run for cover. Dont hide behind flimsy little fences that have small cracks under them. Yes, i can see your feet, and yes, your already dead. These are not impenetrable bunker s, you will get shot while hiding behind them. An exception are the little white cardboard-like boxes on a map like grand bazaar. These are at a perfect height for the boxes i mention in #4. You can still be shot while behind them, so watch out.

-17. IFV tactics for squad deathmatch and how to kill it(just 1 tip for conquest here, its a totally different ballgame in that mode btw so some of this doesnt apply) Ill mention this right now, if you have a mouse thats capable of on-the-fly sens itivity settings, you want to jack this up right after you hop in a tank, that w ay your turrent moves just like your gun does as infanty. I always rock the ligh t machine gun as the extra weapon, this thing totally annihilates any infantry y ou come across, theres really no reason to use anything else for that slot. You definately want thermal vision as well, theres no reason to pick anything else. Thermal allows you to see landmines easily too, so taking it has that huge added bonus. If your rolling with some friends make sure the gunner picks proximity s can, and the driver picks reactive armor. The gunner always protects AROUND the t ank, as the driver cannot see the scanner that the gunner has(i think). If your alone, go with proximity scan over any of the other ones. So its LMG/thermal vis ion/proximity scan if your alone. Or, LMG/thermal/Reactive armor if your playing with a buddy. He picks proximity scan on his layout since hes the gunner. And a lso, make sure you communicate well with your friend when hes hopping out to rep air your tank, be sure you dont have him way out in the open trying to repair, o r be driving away while hes repairing. Make sure if you see 2 friends the same c lan run for a vehicle. Let them have it, as they could be on vent communicating the proper way. This means more kills for your squad. If you are by yourself and your not an engineer but you get hit by a rocket, the best thing to do when starting out is to use the sprint key to drive away from that area ASAP, that way your IFV can repair itself if its a normal server. Also , make sure when your driving away, try to drive diagonally from the direction y ou took the rpg from, because if you get hit with an RPG from the backside of yo ur IFV... GG. Its sometimes better to save your tank by driving away rather then trying to rack up 1 extra kill in it by gunning down the enginner. Once you get very good in the tank tho, just swat that guy like a fly when he pops out to fi re another shot. How to handle a guy trying to lay C4 is by mashing the sprint k ey and driving away, while turning around and shooting him. Just keep in mind th at if he does manage to lay some C4 on your tank but not detonate it. Then a roc ket can still blow up that C4 thats on the vehicle and it will 1 shot you. If so mebody is camping in a high spot that you cant reach with your main guns and you r alone in the tank, always switch to the gunner position in the vehicle. Many p eople assume that if they are not already being shot at by the tank, that its sa fe to not take cover. Take those guys to school and show them its not. Its almost never good to physically get out of a tank to try to kill somebody, o r even a C4 guy if you cant get away in time. Its always better to just forget a bout getting that one kill, or to get blown up rather then having your tank stol en by another squad. You can easily die 2-3 times by that same tank if they get ahold of it cause you got out. If you have a really nice killsteak going, thats the only reason to do something like this. This is a common noob mistake many pp l make in tanks. Once you get good tho, go right ahead and do whatever you want, at the cost of not losing your tank. Ive lost many tanks trying to hop out to g et that one kill or avoid a death and was laughed at for doing do. If you do thi s in conquest with one of the two/three tanks your team has btw, its usually gam e breaking and it might spell defeat right there. You can still hop out when you r tank is about to blow up, but not if you think the other team might be able to repair and steal it. I always use RPGs over javalin gnator down from a recon. This y mention if hes using one. It gs, front hits usually dont do missles in deathmatch, unless theres a lazer desi is rare in deathmatch, but your recon will usuall does matter where you shoot the tank from with rp much damage, side hits seem to do slightly more d

amage then front hits, but the rear of the vehicle is always the vulnerable spot , it seems like the vehicle takes about 3x as much damage when shot from behind. The javalin missles seem to be garbage to me, unless you have a lazer down from a recon, they never seem to kill in 2 hits, ever. If i hear that beeping sound from a lockon from a jav missile while im in the tank, i usually rape him before he can shoot his 2nd missle, sometimes before he shoots his first. C4 packs som etimes take only 2 to blow up an IRV, but other times they take 3. Im pretty sur e its because that person has reactive armor. So as a rule of thumb, always lay down 3 C4 packs to blow up the vehicle(unless its a hardcore server). I never di d any testing on this stuff, so i cant give exact values and some of it might be off.

-18. Start out on normal servers if your new to the game, not hardcore servers You can go on these servers once you get good at hip-firing, are familiar with t he maps, and have a decent gun picked out that you own with. Hardcore servers do not have a target reticle for when your just hip-firing your weapon. The mini-m ap is also far less useful in hardcore then it is in normal. Because enemies do not show up on it when they are firing their weapons, nor do they show up on it when you spot them out. Hardcore also does not show you how many bullets you hav e left in your clip after firing, or how many you have left period, so be cautio us about engaging if you feel you might be close to out of ammo. But in all hone sty, hardcore does not seem to be truly hardcore, its pretty pussy compared to w hat it was in BC2. -19. The MAV and the T-UGS are game winners if placed in a good spot These 2 gadgets are the most useful out of anything in SDM and TDM. The MAV is a bsolutely insane when you use it correctly and spot like a beast with it. I have seen many games single-handedly won just because a teammate or an enemy flew on e of these around and spotted the other team. If you see a teammate that is espe cially ripping people apart cause hes good, fly this thing around for him and yo u might get your medal in 2-3 rounds for it. The fire button is for taking out e nemy recon gadgets btw, it does nothing to damage enemies. You can road kill wit h these too if you want, but thats strictly for fun and nothing else. Its usuall y just a waste of a game clutching MAV if you do that. You can also fly this thi ng onto the ledge of an unreachable balcony in the middle of the map(like in gra nd bazaar), and then go back to sniping if you want. Its for that reason why you should always use the MAV over the T-UGS when you unlock it. Its 1000x better t o have it spotting for your whole team while your sniping, then it is to lay dow n a T-UGS like a selfish bastard just to cover your 6. As for the T-UGS, you really only wanna place this at the top floor of a stairwe ll or something if you have a squad camping that building. Its half as useful as the mav is, but in this case that squad will crush any enemies that get spotted by it. This goes hand in hand with that tip i gave you about jumping out of a w indow on the 2nd floor of a building, to come up from behind somebody that is co ming up the stairwell to take out your squad. Dont forget to pick up your T-UGS before moving onto another camping spot btw, unless you have a support guy to dr op you some ammo. The same goes for if you see the enemy team using either of these gadgets, make sure you always kill a MAV if you see it flying around. These will decimate your team if ignored, nades work really well for blowing up the T-UGS, even if ppl a re in the building its set up in. Never run thru the same door you were last spo tted by tho, cause the opponent will expect you to do this.

-20. Avoid chokepoints, unless its your team holding them down An exception is possibly if you want to snipe or shoot a nade/rocket around the corner real quick, then retreat.

-21. Bind ALL of your weapons/gadgets to hotkeys(huge) Never use the mouse wheel to change weapons/gadgets. Tts garbage compared to usi ng actual keys to bust them out quickly. Countless times i have asked a support guy for ammo only to see him fumble through his entire inventory to finally get to his ammo box, then get shot down before he can drop the ammo. If your still u sing the mouse wheel, change this now.

-22. Dont ever play on laggy servers Any servers where your ping is above 60 just avoid entirely unless your playing with friends ofc. Always favorite the good servers where your ping is below 30 o r so.

-23. Reloading tricks Theres a trick to reloading btw. Its hard to explain, but ill give it a shot. Yo u dont really have to finish the entire reload animation. You can start your rel oad, then wait till the clip is actually in your gun, at about the time you hear the click of the clip entering your gun, you bust your pistol out real quick th en immediately switch back to your gun. This only saves maybe a 1/2 to a 1/4th o f a second, but thats an amazing amount of time if your up close trying to reloa d after killing 2-3 people. This trick has been in more then a few shooter games that i have played. And also, i dont shoot real guns(im more of the fishing kind of guy) so when i n oticed that sometimes my gun would reload with only 30 bullets instead of 31, i thought this was a bug. After some forum reading, i found out that its actually because theres 1 bullet in your chamber normally if you dont empty your entire c lip. So remember to reload that 1 extra bullet if you have time and you think yo ur in a safe position. That 1 bullet has saved me many times. Im not even going to mention anything else about reloading, i put enough common sense stuff in her e already. Just be smart about it.

-24. Pay close attention to your HUD while being shot at in a normal server If you are being shot at from the left for instance, the middle of your screen w ill have a little arrow thingy on the left-hand side of it. Just look for it nex t time your being shot at and you will see what i mean. This gives away the gene ral postion of your shooter, and might let you face him and kill him first if yo u have ninja-like reflexes and hes terrible.

-25. Watch your cross-hairs for hitmarkers after firing

I was made aware of this the other day by a friend of mine and felt like a total noob for never realizing it before. But when you shoot somebody with anything a nd it hits them, you will see tiny little white reticles pop up. These are hitma rkers, and it means you damaged somebody with whatever you shot at him. You can use this for killing bush campers, or killing campers with RPGS that you cannot see, but the splash damage is still hitting them.

-26. Get proper gaming equipment and play around with the settings in the game i tself to find what works for you(this is a must read if you are not familiar wit h pc gaming) The biggest thing in this catagory is by far your mouse, make sure your polling rate is set to the max, as that will be the most accurate. Find a mouse that you can change your Dpi settings on-the-fly with, then you lower the dpi when you w ant to do something that takes pin-point accuracy like sniping, or raise the dpi settings when your in something that handles really sluggish, like a tank. Over the years, ive found soft mouse pads to be better at precision aiming. But i li ke hard mouse pads cause it allows me to glide my mouse around faster since i li ke close quarter combat the best. Hard mouse pads wear out the feet on your mous e rather quickly tho, so watch for that. NEVER have Acceleration enabled while p laying any computer games at all. I might even check your mouse settings in wind ows control panel just to make sure that acceleration is turned off in there as well(it should be). You would think a keyboard dont matter right? The answer is yes it does, an old piece of crap 5-10$ keyboard is junk. Throw it out if your a gamer of any kind. The reason for this is because of something known as "ghosting", its basically w hen you press 3 or more keys at the same time and the last one doesnt register. For example, your crouched down and your moving to the left, somebody pops out f rom around the corner and your trying to reload your rifle but the key isnt regi stering cause your keyboard is a piece of crap. GG. I would also suggest buying a very very good set of headphones. Im currently usi ng a logitech 500 watt 5.1 surround sound system, and even i wish i had a great set of headphones. You can blast these no matter who is asleep in your house, so your far less likely to get knifed, and far more likely to identify which direc tion bullets are coming from. Buy a crazy good set of headphones if you dont hav e a pair, cause i know i will be soon. If you have a sound card, i heard that al l of the special sound card settings should be turned off for battlefield, stuff like crystalizer effects and EAX effects. I read an article about how the maker s of this game suggested to turn them off cause the default sound is how its mea nt to be heard. You should also try out the "wartapes" audio setting in the game itself, i found it to be easiest to pinpoint where gunshots are coming from. Th ere is also another setting, but i cant rememeber the name of it that you should make sure is turned off if your using surround sound speakers/headphones. Also, i made sure the voiceover language was set to english so i didnt have to memori ze what the other languages sound like when they yell something like i had to in other shooter games ive played. I dont even know if that was only related to th e MP, or just the SP campaign, but i turned it to english regardless. Use a mic if your playing with friends, and find friends that have mics too. If you dont have a mic, then your missing out on avoiding many deaths by telling yo ur friends where the enemies are that killed you. Because he can then kill them, and revive you(and vice versa ofc). You are both also unstoppable killing machi nes if you get in a tank in squad deathmatch and one of you are engineers. Your fps(frames per second) is always capped out at your monitor's refresh rate(

hertz)or(Hz). So if you have a monitor that only runs at 60hz, and your fps in g ame is around 80 or so, thats 20 frames you will never see on your monitor becau se its not capable of showing it. Most LCDs are around 60-75hz nowadays, the hig her end ones go up to 120-240hz. I just run with a 60hz one and it never bothers me at all, i did notice a tiny tiny difference when i switched from my old beas tly CRT monitor years ago that ran at 85hz after it broke, but it didnt kill my gaming or anything. There are very few people that can distingush the difference between anything above 85hz, so dont let this bother you. The reason why i am t elling you this, is because you might be running the game at say... 120fps atm o n lower/medium settings. But your monitor might be capped out at 60 fps, since i ts only a 60hz monitor. That means that you can turn up the graphics settings in -game, causing the fps in your game to drop since it now looks better and be fin e. No, you dont "lose" any frames per second, since your monitor cant show frame s past its hertz anyways. But try to never let your fps drop below your monitor' s hz, since you might notice it a bit while playing. Just find a good 64man serv er or something and use the console(the ~ key opens it), and then theres a conso le command to show your fps in-game "Render.DrawFps 1".Then get up into the acti on and start jacking up your settings, till you find the sweet spot where your s ettings are maxed out, but your fps never drops below your monitor's hertz. You turn that display off by typing "Render.DrawFps 0" into the console iirc. Regarding graphics settings, if your interested in improving your game, then you must make the neccessary sacrifices to the graphics settings. If you getting lo w fps, then always turn your settings down, it will have a massive effect on you r score. I could run my card at max settings if i really wanted to, but it would definatly have a major impact on my fps and probably cause my card to overheat anyways. So never take a hit to your performace cause your stubborn and like to play a pretty looking game at the max settings that your card cant handle. I sho uld also mention that if you notice the fan on your graphics card gets really lo ud while gaming(like revs up to cool off), then is very silent while not gaming, then you should download some software to turn your fan to a consistant speed w hile your gaming so it does not overheat quickly. Im sure that also annoys that crap out of you, but be prepared for what your video cards fan should normally s ound like. As mine sounds like a freight train at only 80% fan speed. You can ju st turn it back down when your not playing games after your sessions. Try playing around with the "FOV" or field of vision setting at bit inside the i n-game settings, but remember what the default setting was at before you do. Som e people like playing with it zoomed out a bit, cause they can see more of their surroundings with it. But zooming it out also has the added effect of making en emies seem further away then they actually are. So give it a shot, you might fin d a better setting for it. You should also take note that there is a setting to enable just a click to ADS(aiming down sights), as opposed to having to hold you r ADS button in. If you plan on possibly buying anything after reading this, make sure you only b uy WIRED gaming peripherals. Its not like you should get rid of anything wireles s you have, its most likely fine. But wireless stuff will never be able to compe te with anything that is wired, period. You cant argue to any diehard pc gamer t hat a wireless internet connection is better then a wired one is, he will laugh you right out of the forum, and so will any other person that isnt a buffoon. Th e wireless stuff is definately getting closer then it was a few years ago tho, s o dont go dumping 100+$ on stuff if you already have wireless things. Since you bought/have a computer that is good enough to play this game, there is no reason to skimp on your gaming peripherals, or take no time to set the game up properly. Some of this has as big of an impact on your gaming as upgrading yo ur graphics card or internet would. You have limitless options compared to a con sole player, so make the most out of them.

Here are some general rules in FPSer games and BF games to help you enjoy yourse lf and get along with good players. You can skip past this part if you want. I j ust want to educate the noobs, the crybabies, and the cocky.

-1. There is no "code of honor" when playing within the rules What i mean by this is, dont be the guy that cries about the tank, the IRNV, or a camper. Do what normal gamers do and rage out at your monitor, keyboard, and m ouse. Dont cry in chat on a server. Those are all in the game for a reason and i ts totally legit to use/do any of those things. If its really bothering you, ASK the guy to stop it first. DO NOT call him a noob, he will only turn into a grie fer. Ill give you an example of me being a griefer because i was called a tank noob. I once played a SDM game with a guy who cried about me owning the whole server i n a tank. He called me a tank noob after i killed him 5 or 6 times, so once they finally blew my tank up. I waited right beside the respawn for it to pop up aga in. So this tank respawns and im just camping right in the bushes beside it. The guy killed somebody else that was running to the tank, and i see him trying to run for it himself. So, about 20 yds before he gets to the tank I hopped in it, shot him in the face with the main gun and then hopped right back out. As i LOLe d then looked at the scoreboard, i noticed he was no longer in the server and ha d ragequit. This exact same scenario has happened twice, on two seperate occasio ns. The funny part about this is the fact that i would gladly just hop right out of the tank when i see my team has a 20+ kill lead already, if they would only ASK me to do so. Respect goes both ways, dont call somebody a noob for playing withi n the rules. Dont ever change your playstyle either if its working just because somebody is crying about it. If hes polite, hell go ahead and stop whatever your doing. I can guarantee that you will only be asked to stop w/e tactic they deem as "cheap" once or twice in about 200+ hours of playing. And its usually by an admin thats older then a teenager. So if an admin is whining about it, then you either stop, or expect a kick/ban. Although it is their server, remember your playing well within the rules, anythi ng less is stats padding in my mind. I look at it like he just dont want to die over and over again when im in a tank. So he tells me to get out of it? Thats hi s K/D ratio being padded. He shouldnt have that as a SDM server in the first pla ce if he dont want to face that scenario. You can find a better server with admi ns that dont have that attitude. Its their server, and noobs will be noobs. Just find some good ones, dont cry, and you should be fine. Torture those players that cry as much as possible, not in chat, but in game. It s always amusing to see a player ragequit because your raping his face. Other de cent players find this amusing as well, you can gain some good friends on server s by torturing these whiny little brats and laughing about it afterwards. But do nt get the crybabies confused from the ppl that are just making requests for you to stop doing something. I should mention the basic exception to the code of honor thing is definately sp awn camping, or pinning the other team down in their own spawn's chokepoints. Th e latter is usually deemed ok in most servers it seems, but most people dont rea lize its essentially the same as spawn raping. But if you listen to #12 above, y

ou should never face this scenario anyways. This is generally one of the only se rver rules you will see on just about every one.

-2. Dont ever stats pad... legit players will laugh at you You see all those pistol/knife only servers? Yup, those are stats padding server s. You see that guy shooting rockets at his own tank and repairing it? Yeah, hes stats padding. Some of those servers exist mostly to have fun, but never the le ss... its still stats padding. If you ever join one of these servers, theres a p ossibility that its already being monitored, and you could easily have your stat s erased just from going to it and getting your quick, shameless medals. You hav e been warned.

-3. Dont ever hack or cry about hackers Most of the people that hack, are ironically the ones that cry about hackers eve rytime they die. In their minds, they think every server is full of hackers, so why not download some hacks and try it out? Well, they usually end up being bann ed and their stats are erased. You wont gain any friends on any servers if you t hrow around your totally baseless hackusations either. Grow up and get good if t his is you, because your not welcome on many servers. I have yet to meet any dec ent players that dont despise this childish behaviour. If your ever called a hac ker, just say thank you. Thats a huge compliment to your skills. When your boote d by an admin for this "reason" thats the ultimate compliment, just never go bac k to a server that has noob admins like that like. If they had a shred of respec t, they would ask you to leave, or make the reason for being kicked/banned noted that your simply too good. Those are still the cool guys that boot or ban for a reason like that, its their server, they didnt call you a hacker, they just wan t to play against ppl that are on the same level as they are. You WILL know when somebody has the big hacks on, you will spawn and die, spawn and die, over and over again. Ive only ran across this twice in 150+ hours of pl aying so far. Many of the other hacks are far more subtle. Like minimap hacks th at spot everybody, wireframe hacks that take away the foliage on maps, and wallh acks that outline people from behind walls. Im sure there are countless other ha cks out there that im not aware of, but i did some research to see what to look for when trying to identify hackers. The real problem lies in the fact that you cant spectate ppl like you could in a game like counter strike, and the killcam never shows you dying through his vision. These 2 problems lead to hackers not b eing promptly banned by admins after only a few kills. Dont get stressed out about hackers, most of them get banned by punkbuster anywa ys so its not the big deal that everybody claims it to be. I have easily killed people that i have personally suspected of having the more subtle hacks, but eve n im not 100% sure they were hacking. Thats why normal servers are so hard to te ll the hackers from the ppl that are just good. Maybe your just spotted on the m ini-map or something, thats why you think he wall hacks. Like i said, you will k now when you see a real hacker, they go like 112-0 or something along those line s. Ive personally reached around 40-2, on a TDM server myself, and i think ive d one even better on a conquest server with a buddy repairing my tank. Granted, th e deathmatch server was just loaded with noobs, and my buddy was repairing my ta nk in the conquest match. So scores like that are far from unheard of when it co mes to servers with noobs/stacked teams or when using great teamwork.

-4. Try to keep your ego in check Most of you might laugh when reading this one if you have made it this far. But i dont like people that are overly cocky until i get to know them, and i know im not the only one. Remember, there is always somebody out there better then you. This fact will never change. There is also a reason to keep this in check. If y ou think your the greatest, it will take much longer to see your own faults, mea ning you will be much slower to improve on aspects of the game your weaker at. Y ou have to be hard on yourself when you consistantly make the same mistakes, oth erwise you will keep on making them.

-5. Dont compare yourself to other players by only looking at stats, or be a lit tle bitch and run your mouth about your own stats. Leave your ego out of this, because comparing yourself to a conquest or rush pla yer when looking at his stats is not even close to fair. These ppl usually play the objectives, and this leads to an overwhelming amount of deaths in these game modes. Some of them have higher scores per minute then you do im sure, and that s because they are out there capping flags and rolling peeps while they are in t anks. Not hiding in a building shooting ppl that walk in, or flanking the other team and killing off half of them while their backs are turned like i do. Rush i s even more retarded when it comes to these kinds of stats. Dont go around the f orums rubbing your K/D ratio in these player's faces, because the ratio only mat ters in SDM and TDM modes, and that only matters from game to game, not overall. It does not mean they are crappy players at all. Same goes for many of the stats, they can be cheesed easily, K/D can be cheesed by joining the winning team every match and only facing the noobs on the other t eam, or by hopping in a tank and owning in SDM every round. The reverse for K/D ratio is also true, maybe somebody was trying to learn how to fly or something a nd died 100x, or were using guns they werent good with to get the attachments fo r them, or were trying to get their ribbons for their medals for anything that t akes many deaths to get without stats padding it. Same deal with win/loss ratio, that can be easily cheesed by simply switching teams before the game ends. Over all accuracy can be cheesed by sniping and rpging, and can plummet when using so mething like the support class or an AA gun in conquest. Score per minute can be cheesed by playing metro with 64 ppl and reviving peeps over and over again, or laying down ammo packs. There are so many different ways to cheese stats, and you will eventually cheese something without even knowing it. If your playing TDM and SDM it will be your K/D ratio and your SPM that will be sort of cheesed. Dont go around bragging abo ut this retarded nonsense, you can mess with your friends about it, sure. But th eres no way to tell if the assclown on the forums that is bragging about any of his stats is any good till you actually play him in a match 1V1. Theres no way t o tell till you do that, its that simple. You can run your mouth all you want on forums like a little child, but you wont gain any respect doing that.

-6. Most importantly is have fun Dont be obsessed with stats, go for those melee ribbons if you want(1 more to go for me!), you can work on your K/D ratio later to stroke your epeen. Some of th e most hilarious moments ive ever had in battlefield games is trying to do thing s that you get owned doing. And when you actually pull them off in a legit manne r, its so much more satisfying then just joining a stats padding server to cheat them out. Same goes with flying, just try to find low populated servers where t

he jets/helis are just sitting in your deployment. Thats so you dont gimp your t eam by crashing a jet/heli over and over again when it could have been piloted b y a decent player. Ive had some of the most fun gunning in a helicopter btw, tha t ive ever had in any shooter game. I suggest trying it if you can find a decent pilot.

NOTE:These are my personal opinions/tactics, im cetainly far from a pro, this is for people starting out to help them get better. You will definately find that many of these tactics dont work for you, but you can always give them a shot if your having trouble. I tend to run and gun, so if your the same way, definately try out some of this stuff. If your looking for any advice on sniping, look else where. Ive always been a pretty weak sniper in most of the fpsers I have played in the past. You can find a better guide out there from a far more competent sni per.

SQUAD PERKS(other perks that arent mentioned I find to be mostly useless in deat hmatch) Sprint- Very valuable if your using a flanking setup Suppression- Great for mid/long range, up close its useless as either of you sho uld be dead long before suppression comes into play Cover- Same deal as suppression, only protects you from the actual suppression f ire Ammo- Once you get good this is what you will want to use most of the time, I fi nd running out of ammo to be the biggest problem since i play the assault kit mo re often then not. You can always pick up an enemy's kit, but remember if your f lanking they most likely wont have the suppression attachment. This is also prob ably the best perk for campers as well. But in all reality, you should be suppor t... if your going to camp you mine as well do it right so take suppression inst ead. These are the 4 squad perks you want if its a full squad of friends btw, remembe r they dont stack and its useless to have 2 of the same perks.

WEAPON ATTACHMENTS/SIGHTS-Many of them i dont use at all, so im not even going t o put them on here, but feel free to try them out. Always try everything out, ju st to see if you like it.

SIGHTSKobra or Reflex RDS- My favorite sights atm, they are great for close combat cau se you can look down them very quickly. I tend to favor the Reflex version, as i think the single dot is less distracting then the 3 lines from the Kobra are.

Both Holo Sights- Not bad, im more of a fan of the RDS tho. Acog-I use this when i rarely feel i need zoom IRNV-This thing turned a good player into a 1-man army before the nerf, but now i tend to go with the RDS scopes. Try it out however, you might still like it. A nd remember to use your steady scope button while ADS with it, like you would wi th a sniper rifle.

ATTACHMENTSForegrip- There is no downside to using this whatsoever, so this is by far the b est attachment for this slot imo unless.... Extended mag- Im pretty sure it takes up this slot, and if it does, and your a c lose quarter combat player like me... this is the only thing worth dropping the foregrip for. But only a few guns can use it. And if your a burst fire kind of g uy, or a camper, then its foregrip without question in this slot. Bipod-Im not a fan of this really, might suit some campers out there tho. I just dont like how i sometimes unintentionally deploy it when behind cover, and how it puts you in a bad spot if people are shooting at you after its deployed. Underslung rail-Not worth it over the foregrip imo. But, if your on a map like N oshara Canals and its practically all close range combat and you want to use a s hotty for inside the crates, then maybe it is. But if your taking this for that reason you should just take an actual shotgun instead, any one of them are godly on that map. Ive never used it or the nade launcher personally, because i find being able to heal me/my team more valuable then a nade launcher or a shotgun. J ust a heads up, this attachment is only to shorten the time it takes to bust our your nade launcher, you can still pick the nade launcher without using. It will just act as a stand-alone weapon instead. Lazer sight-Ive heard claims that this increases accuracy in some form. Ive trie d it and never found that to be the case. You can easily give away your position from using this if you point it right at the persons face, so keep that in mind . Its not overly bright or anything, and does little to disorient me. Idk how it effects other people, but its not on the same level as the tac light. The only reason i can even think of using this over the suppressor/tac light is if you st ill suck at hip-firing. If you do use this for some reason, then my advice is to quit cold turkey with it and learn to aim. Because there are far better attachm ents then this, this seems like a crutch to me. The same applies here too, if yo ur going to use it, turn it off at long distances. This slot should never be was ted on this piece of crap imo(note the IMO there). Flash suppressor-Decreased accuracy? Garbage Heavy barrel-I dont use this very often, but you might find a use for it if you like to shoot from mid/long range. I wouldnt use this in a close quater combat b uild tho. Tac light-Best attachement while your camping or engaging from the front. MAKE S URE you turn this off when your not up close tho, as it only gives away your pos ition. If you repeatedly forget to turn this off, then dont even bother using it . Its only killing you. This actually makes a huge difference in close combat, i have a ton of trouble getting quick headshots up close if my enemy has this att achment on. DONT EVER snipe with this this light on. Unless your quickscoping up

close, in which you should really just have a rifle or machine gun in the first place. Im not really familiar with sniper rifle attachments, but if i see a sni per with this thing turned on... your already spotted on the mini-map for my tea m and you will most likely be counter-sniped by the our team very soon. Most jus t forget its even on, so take off the attachment entirely if this is you. Suppressor-My favorite attachement, it hides your spot on the mini-map while you r firing. That means when your flanking your enemy only people who are really pa ying attention to the mini-map will know you are there(or they hear it). Long ra nge i wouldnt suggest using this, i use the tac light, but turned off. And this is far less useful in hardcore as well, i drop it for the tac light there as wel l. A quick recap Up close setup-Reflex RDS/Foregrip/tac light Flanking setup-Reflex RDS/Foregrip/suppressor(for hardcore drop the suppressor f or the tac light) Mid/Long range setup-Acog/Foregrip/Heavy barrel or tac light turned off(I dont u se this setup very often in deathmatch)

General tips about aiming(my way ofc, you will find your niche im sure) This is probably the "meat" of this guide, the tips down below have been acquire d through years of experience of playing pc shooters. This is usually what disti nguishes the good players from the great. Just because you read this does not me an you will magically be great, it can take years to get even half as good as so me of the people that have been playing on the PC their whole lives. Even though im more of a run and gun kind of guy, i still burst fire at mid/long range as well. I typically dont mess with the firing modes on any of the guns, no matter what distance im shooting at. I find its no different when i fire 1-3 shot bursts, then when the gun is set to any firing mode. The biggest reason why i never change my firing modes tho, is to make my gun more accessable to my sty le of shooting, which is spray and pray. So by all means try a firing mode, you might love it. Remember that when your spraying bullets, to move your mouse down and either to the left or right to compansate the recoil of the gun. A note abo ut the single shot modes here, they are kinda iffy at best. A good player will s imply move behind cover in-between crosshair resets if your firing at their head , you might get one shot off, but you wont kill them most of the time. And a not e about hip-firing, only do that at very short range. Short range- Spray and pray here, i usually aim right at the chest/neck area. An d let my bullets spray right up into their head, while moving my mouse down to c orrect the recoil. If your facing 2 enemies that are side by side and neither se e you, just cap them. If one sees you, make sure you kill him first. And if both see you, strafe to the closest side to line them both up in your sights to try to get a double kill if there is no cover. But if there is just get behind it an d take them on 1 at a time if possible. Dont ever rely on burst shooting up clos e, you HAVE to get good at spray and pray(at least up close its mandatory). You can also strafe left and right while hip-firing at your enemy. This makes it a g ood bit harder for your enemy to kill you. But it has the disadvantage of making it harder to kill your enemy as well. Ive found strafing to be far less useful in this game compared to other FPSers i have played, as hip firing is almost nev

er as good as ADS is. Medium Range- Once you get better with the gun your using, your tactics might ch ange here. For now, i suggest using 2-3 shot bursts and aiming at the chest, whi le letting your gun's crosshairs reset in-between bursts. You might even want to aim lower then the chest, it is all very weapon dependant, i will go into great detail down below. And once you master moving your mouse down according to the recoil you should be able to pull off spray and pray here too. Be careful about this tho, if 3 shot bursts are working for you then dont change it up... ive kil led myself countless times cause i think im rambo. And some guns wont even be ca pable of anything but burst fire at this range. If the target is moving, i would suggest using burst fire, unless your completely confident you can nail him wit h spray and pray. If facing multiple enemies in this situation, run for cover im mediately if possible. If that isnt possible at all, go prone and try shooting a t them and just hope they suck. If you got cover, remember to toss down a health pack before engaging. And when killing multiple enemies from behind cover, angle yourself so you only have to engage one at a time. Long range-This is the only time you will ever want to fire just 1 shot at a tim e, but even then try to shoot at least 2-3 times before crosshair reset. If only firing one shot, its now a good time to actually aim at their head, but make su re you still aim at the chest if shooting in bursts. Always try to crouch for be tter aim at the very least here. Same rules of engagement apply as medium range regarding multiple enemies. You will never under any circumstance spray and pray here unless your just laying down suppressing fire for your teammates so they c an flank them. The general rule of thumb regarding aiming at any distance, is try to get off as many accurate shots as possible in the shortest amount of time. Thats why i sug gest you start off with maybe 1-2 round bursts at mid/long range, and just work your way up to 3 round bursts once you get good. I only go up to 3 round bursts max at long range tho. Regarding spray and pray, if you get good enough with this, it just completely r apes noobs most of the time. It will take tons of practice to get this down tho. If they go prone while your trying to spray, immediately start to burst fire to finish them off. Thats the hilarious part, is the fact that most ppl immediatel y see somebody spraying, so they just think your bad and go prone right out in t he open like champions. Be careful about trying to spray from medium range again st veteran players btw, if you face a good burst-firing vet, you can and will ge t owned occasionally while trying to spray at him.

-The tips below are far more important then a personal opinion from somebody abo ut which weapon you should use. You might notice how the only weapon i can tell you exactly how the recoil on it handles is the M416. I spray and pray more often then not at short/mid range, b ut my accuracy with that weapon is almost 20%(thats crazy for somebody who spray s and prays). This is what you have to do, you have to find your "m416" and stic k with using that gun till you know exactly how it handles. Im talking knowing h ow the gun kicks from the first shot, to the 2nd shot, and to the 3rd shot. Whic h side it tends to kick to more often, how far up it kicks, how it kicks while h ip-firing, how it kicks while spraying, and how it kicks while ADS.

You start off by just playing a bit with a few rifles, and jotting down general things you notice about them, like which ones burst fire better, which ones are decent for spraying, which ones are good at different ranges, you get the point. Then you pick a gun that suits you to do some testing on. You go into an empty server, grab the weapons you like, and fire at short/mid/long range(use seperate areas for each range ofc) at a white wall where you can see the bullet spread o n it. If you do this for about a half an hour or so, you can tell exactly how th e recoil on that gun handles at the respective ranges. Then, you adjust what par t of the body you aim at so the last bullet out of however many shot bursts you like to fire, hits your enemy in the head. Some guns have more recoil on them, s o you would definately want to aim at maybe their stomach if you were firing 3 s hot bursts as opposed to their chest for certain ones. For spray and pray, see if you like a gun that kicks more to the right or left, depending upon how well you move your mouse in the opposite direction to correct that recoil. For example, I know I like guns that kicks up and to the right a b it, because im the most comfortable moving my mouse down and to the left while f iring. This usually is not consistant enough to judge within say... 2 mins of fi ring, you might have to do some extensive testing with that gun to figure it out . Remember, your the one thats going to be spending 100+ hours of your time in thi s game. Imo, i think its a waste if you dont take the 2 or so hours it will take for you to find your favorite weapon. So if you wanna try it the hardcore way, thats how you do it. If you think any of the above is silly and pointless, then you will never reach your full potential in a shooter game. The above applies to every fps you will ever play on any system, ever. Ive been doing it this way si nce counter-strike. Eventually, you will get to the point where you can pick up a gun in a completely new game and be able to tell immediately if you like it or not. You might think you can do it now, but if your reading this guide, then yo u probably cant.

WEAPONS-Im not going into crazy details here(such as weapon stats), just what i personally think the weapons are good for according to what kind of player you a re. Dont judge the weapons on my list in the order i put them in if your a burst fire/mid to long range kind of guy. Even if you play just like i do, you will d efinately find weapons you like to be far better then the order i put them in. I havent even tried many of the PDWs, but i finished up the assault/engi/support kits. So im just going to put the guns i have gotten my kills in here for, which does not include the PDWs, as i dont ever judge weapons till i try them. I migh t go back and add the B2K weapons, but dont hold your breath on any updates to t his guide at all. A tip for you down the road to find decent weapons faster, is to write down how the weapons seemed to handle. That way you dont forget which o ne you liked, thats what i usually do. You can just apply the up close/flanking/mid to long range setups for the weapon attachments according to what you plan on doing ofc.

Assault weapons(in order of personal favorites to least favorite)

The fatal flaw to this list, is that i base most of the other weapons off of the M416, which is why you really need to do the stuff above when shopping for your primary weapon. Assault rifles are the bread and butter, good at every range. 1.M416 I love this gun the most out of all the kits. It seems to be the most acc urate spray and pray weapon out there(for me at least), and it suits my playstyl e the best. The recoil on it tends to kick the the gun up and more often to the right, but once you get the hang of moving your mouse down and to the left, its not that bad. If you like to burst fire more often then you like to spray, read on. Its still insanely good for burst fire, but i think there are better options . 2.KH2002 Somehow, along the way i ended up liking this gun very much. I usually hate weapons that are only capable of burst fire, for this to make my list at nu mber 2 means that i think its insanely good. Just get decent with it up close an d you will be beast. 3.AEK-971 If i was primarily a burst firing kind of guy, i would definately take this bad boy. I was really starting to enjoy it once i got used to the recoil o n it. Try this out first imo if you like to burst fire, just watch the bullet sp read from it up close... its pretty insane. It has a decent rate of fire tho, so its great up close too once you can control it. I wouldnt recommend spraying fr om anywhere but up close with this weapon. 4.F2000 This is the gun i use when i expect to only face enemies up close. Its p retty bad at a distance, compared to some of the far more accurate options. Typi cal close-range spray and pray weapon here. Always burst fire with this weapon a t mid/long range. 5.M16A3 This gun is a tad bit similar to the M416, but it just fires faster, and has more recoil. Its a pretty good overall gun, but leans more towards close ra nge combat imo, due to its high fire rate. 6.Ak-74M This gun seemed like a good all-arounder as well, much like the m416. B ut there can be only one m416 in my mind. The rate of fire is also sort of slow. 7.G3A3 Pretty awesome for a mid/long range guy that only burst fires, but i foun d it kind meh for my playstyle. It has a really slow rate of fire compared to th e other automatic rifles. Aim for the chest up close to end combat quickly. Othe rwise you will just get owned by people with better close-quarters rifles. I fou nd the recoil to be horrendous, hence why you aim for the chest up close instead of the neck/head. You might fall in love with this gun if you burst fire, who k nows. Its bullets seemed to do some nice damage. 8.AN-94 WTF did you do to this rifle DICE! I remember this being the only burst firing rifle i used in BC2. I did hear this was buffed in some way, but after ge tting my kills with this hunk of junk, i think ill pass on giving it a second ch ance. This does not mean you should pass the chance to try this, i did find this to be the most accurate out of all my assault rifles i used, probably only beca use of the 2 round bursts. It just dont suit my playstyle at all. The 2 round bu rst feature was the only saving grace to this rifle, but 2 rounds is child's pla y in close quarters.(the auto firing recoil is off the wall... bleh) If you were a burst firing guy tho, this definately deserves a chance. Just avoid close ran ge combat with it if possible. Engineer weapons

I tend to avoid long range combat with these guns but you can still pull it off, close/mid is fine tho. Spray and pray can be really tricky with most of these g uns, as the horizontal recoil on most of them seemed pretty high to me. 1.G36C This gun is just awesome all around, decent rate of fire, good for burst fire and spraying up close and even sometimes at mid range. This is a jack of al l trades engi gun. 2.AKS-74u This gun seemed like a pretty good all arounder too, It just has slowe r rate of fire. I found spray and pray worked pretty decently with this gun at b oth ranges. 3.M4A1 I enjoy this gun up close due to its high fire rate. It seemed better to burst fire at mid range. 4.A-91 I was really starting to like this gun towards the end of getting my unlo cks for it. It rubbed me the wrong way at first tho, till i got used ot it. Favo rs short range a bit more then the other weapons do, but i was also getting some nice kills from a distance with it later on. I usually dont like weapons that h ave as much recoil as this seemed to. 5.SCAR-H This gun would be higher on my list, if i liked longer range/burst fire playstyle. Definately keep that in mind when looking at this list, its a beast from afar. I did hear they nerfed it, but it still seemed solid to me. The 21 ro und clip knocked it down a couple of notches on my list as well. 6.SG553 This gun was pretty decent up close, i just found the recoil to be a tad bit high for my taste. I would definately only burst fire with this sucker at m id range tho. Support weapons You can fire the big clip guns at any range once you get used to them, but keep in mind the recoil will not allow you to fire anything above 3 shots, and most o f the time 3 shots seemed iffy. The ones that kick like mules you should only fi re twice imo. I feel i should mention that some of these weapons are capable of being hip-fire d once you REALLY get the hang of using them. Imo tho, its always far better to ADS with them, and be sure to fire the big clip guns in bursts only, dont bother to spray and pray unless they are at really close range. Dont even bother tryin g to use any of the big clip guns if you dont follow these 2 simple rules, just use other weapons. And also, if you use a bipod like normal people(not me), just make sure you at least have claymores covering your six. But keep in mind your mostly a sitting duck in a deathmatch with a deployed bipod, unless your camping in a corner watching a chokepoint, or have teammates covering you. More often t hen not, its better to simply use the foregrip, to deal with some of the insane vertical recoil from some of these guns. The M27 IAR and RPK-74m i found to be e xceptions to that recoil. They can also be very useful for actually laying down suppression fire, but its rare to find a guy that does this. As this usually just leads to you getting sho t very easily in TDM or SDM, cause everybody will know where you are. 1.M27 IAR When im looking for a machine gun, i usually dont pick one with a 45 r ound clip. This weapon completely changed that retarded train of thought i had. I found this to be the best out of the support class, and immediately fell in lo ve with it after just a few uses. Great all around. Its not really a true "machi ne gun" it seems, as the recoil for it is not really that high compared to the 1

00 clip guns. 2.PKP Pecheneg I absolutely hated this gun starting off, till i found that 1-2 r ound bursts were perfect and that the bullets do MASSIVE amounts of damage to pp l. The vertical recoil on this sucker is insane, but if you ever get used to it, this gun is a total beast. Foregrip for sure. 3.M240B Same deal as the PKP, cept a bit less recoil if i remember correctly. Fo regrip isnt optional in deathmatch 4.M249 I still like this gun, just liked the more recoil heavy guns a bit more s ince they shredded ppl up faster. This one seemed to me to have the least amount of recoil out of the big clip guns 5.RPK-74M It sort of handles similar to the M27 IAR, but i liked that gun alot b etter. I would also rather go with a real machine gun over this. 6.M60E4 The recoil on this gun is fucking retarded. I would rather bring a pisto l over this thing. If you do decide to use it, idk if i would fire above 1 shot bursts, or use a bi pod. Pretty lame that this was the last gun for the support unlocks.

Thats about it, thank god this guide is finally done. I hope you learned somethi ng that you can apply in-game. I dont care what you do with this guide, you can re-write it if you want and take credit yourself. Or, you can type it out and ta ke a piss on the poorly written pages. I took it easy on the curse words through out this guide from what i normally do btw. Take care and happy headhunting. -Re stowned
