CONFERENCES
Parent-teacher conference days are Oct. 8, Nov. 5, Jan. 4 and March 1. Students do not attend school on the conference days.
Buildings open: Check with schools. Office hours: 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. School hours: 9:05 a.m.-3:45 p.m., unless the schools slightly adjust their hours; confirm times with local school. Brown School hours for all levels: 8 a.m.-2:40 p.m.

A variety of income-eligible educational services are available for Jefferson County preschoolers. Children 6 weeks through age 4 may participate in quality educational programs that meet the academic, social, physical and psychological needs of a child. Full- and half-day programs are available. Some programs are five days while others are four days each week. Classes for children 6 weeks to 4 years old in income-eligible families will begin Sept. 4 at various sites. Full-day programs begin at 9:35 a.m. and end at 4:10 p.m. Half-day morning programs meet from 9:35 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. and half-day afternoon programs run from 12:40 to 4:10 p.m. Tuition programs are available at limited sites for those not meeting income guidelines. Full-day tuition preschool that begins Aug. 21 will operate from 9:05 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Information: 485-3919.

MEALS
Elementary students: $1.75 breakfast, $2.40 lunch, 40 cents for extra milk. Middle and high school students: $1.85 breakfast, $2.50 lunch, 40 cents for extra milk. Reduced price meals: 30 cents for breakfast, 40 cents for lunch. Adults: $4.25 lunch.
Dates for all levels: Oct. 12, Nov. 28, Jan. 23, March 12, April 30 and June 14. Check with your childs
A Child-care Enrichment Program, requiring tuition, offers child care for full-day kindergartners through eighth-graders before and after school and during winter and spring breaks, snow days, professional-leave days and summer. Scheduling options are available. The program, co-sponsored by the YMCA of Greater Louisville and the Jefferson County Public Schools, will be offered at 53 sites this year.
