Volunteer Extraordinaire
Here is what we all know: Volunteering is generally considered an altruistic activity, intended to promote good or improve human quality of life. It is considered as serving the society through your own interest, personal skills or learning, which in return produces a feeling of self-worth and selfrespect, instead of money. Here is the question: Does Ross McDowell volunteer because of his concern for the welfare of others or does his wife, Judy (Lifestyle Coordinator) favor him because he works so darn hard? The answer: Both! Ross is passionate when it comes to life and the betterment of our Community; what else would he do on a Saturday night all alone? Watch sports on TV, go to a movie, or drop by the Elks. No way he would rather spend his time with all of us! Here is what Ross does: Chairman of the Neighborhood Representative Committee & Reunion Representative Poker Club President Sun City Lifestyle Volunteer Committee and Chairperson for the After Events (Clean-up group) Thank you Ross, for your compassion, support, kindness and the ability to demonstrate to others how to love life

After very careful consideration of the feedback provided through event surveys and other feedback following last years event, the New Years Eve Committee has found that the majority of our residents who attend such events prefer a dressy occasion that includes dinner and dancing. Other significant preferences included a cash bar and entertainment other than just a band. The Committee has begun planning a spectacular evening for you to bring in the New Year, including cash bars (including soft drinks), dancing and festivities! Tickets will be on sale at the Lifestyle front desk where you will select your table for the evening. More details will follow as the plans develop. If you are interested in helping the New Years Eve Committee this year, please let Pat or Judy know as soon as possible. The work has already begun and wed love to get you involved.
