Know someone who is looking for work? A new career? We have several new opportunities to add to our already-established career technical education classes! Medical Interpreter beginning in November with an Orientation in August: This 40-hour training provides qualified bilingual students with the skills required to deliver accurate and complete interpretation in a health care setting. The Health Care Interpreter Certificate is designed to train bilingual and bicultural students to develop the awareness, knowledge and skills necessary for effective language interpretation in health care settings. Pest Control: Employment of pest control workers is expected to grow 26 percent through 2020. The limited number of people seeking work in pest control, expected job growth, and the need to replace workers who leave this occupation should result in many job openings. This course will introduce you to the industry, the procedures, and show you a path that will lead to a long and successful career. A field trip to apply what you learn is also part of this experience. Resume and Cover Letter Dos and Donts The most effective resumes are not mass-produced but written for a single employer with a particular position or goal in mind. Your cover letter should bring your resume to life, demonstrate your enthusiasm and creativity, and tell an employer why you are uniquely qualified for the job. Come spend part of a Saturday on Resume QUICK TIPS and DOS and DONTS that will ensure that you are following industry protocol! Taught by a Human Resources Specialist and priced affordably to assist our community. Would you like us to investigate a particular industry? Would you like training in a particular career arena? Email us your ideas! Meanwhile, have a wonderful fall. We are glad to be working in partnership with you to serve our 25,000+ student body! Peggy Raun-Linde, Principal
