Fall Group Guitar Lessons Start Friday - September 7, 2012 6:30 p.m. Fall Registration @http://www.dancepointe.org/registration.shtml Please meet and welcome Barkley Heuser, music teacher, to our performing arts class curriculum. Dance Pointe Performing Arts Center is excited to provide our students the opportunity to work with university trained, as well as experienced and very talented instructor. Barkley has been studying music for almost 20 years and playing the guitar for more than 10 years. Starting with the electric guitar to playing classical guitar in 2006. He has studied with Jerry Willard for a number of years and has completed master classes with Pablo Cohen, Ben Verdery, Michael Newmann, Laura Oltman, and Raphaela Smits. After completing his undergraduate degree in Secondary Education, Barkley continued to pursue a graduate degree in music, and an MM in Guitar Performance at SUNY Stony Brook. Barkley has broad performance background. In addition to solo performance, he has performed in a variety of different groups, including: rock bands, wind ensembles, jazz combos, the Stony Brook Baroque Ensemble, and other chamber groups of various sizes. Barkley brings his excitement about the music and the instrument to his instruction. He is an enthusiastic and energetic mentor who has done both group and individual lessons. He places focus on balance between mastering techniques and concepts and having a lot of fun. In addition, Barkley tailors his teaching to students' interests and abilities. He devotes his teachings to progress students as musicians, and offering students nothing but the best of enjoyment in their progress for music to become an engaging and rewarding part of their lives. Class times for Mr. Barkley are Friday evenings 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Music classes are held in our private camera monitored music room for parent class viewing.
