Figure 8 Racing has become increasingly popular! Its Demolition Derby with a complicated twist. Drivers try to outsmart and outmaneuver their opponents as they drive in a figure 8 course.

The winner of the annual celebrity Goat Milking contest receives a monetary amount to be designated to a charity of their choice. Celebrities of all walks of life make a very interesting blend of participants.

Will it be you who beats all other contestants at this years fruit pie contest? Its serious and delicious competition to find the best scratch fruit pie at each years event. Men, women and even children have been past top winners of the $50 top prize. The top six bakers receive beautiful rosettes and cash awards. Immediately following the competition, all pie entries are auctioned off by Vans Auction Service. A cookbook featuring past winning recipes is available for purchase. Local drivers of all ages, experience level, and backgrounds give it their all while they calculate skillful driving maneuvers. The five-event per night program leads up to Saturdays championship round. The driver and last car running is declared winner. County championship drivers compete at the New York State Fair event on Labor Day weekend. State champions then compete at a National Championship.

The annual Wine and Cheese Tasting Event has become a Wayne County Fair classic affair as well as a beneficial fundraising event. This years proceeds will help towards the cost of painting historic Floral Hall. Some of New York States best wineries will again show off their fine wines including...Anthony Road Winery, JD Wine Cellars, Thorpe Vineyard, Wagner Vineyards, and Young-Sommer Winery. The annual Wayne County Fair Parade is one of the largest every year in the area. Special honor is given to the fire companies in the county plus supporting good neighbors in Ontario and Monroe Counties. Favorite marching bands, members of 4-H, animals, floats and various special performances are also showcased. The parade starts in the heart of Palmyra on Main Street then proceeds to the fairgrounds. Cash prizes are given to the best performers. For information contact Dave McGuire at 315-538-8114.

4-H involvement accounts for hundreds of youth in Wayne County, ranging from age 6-19. They compete for county honors in animals, food/nutrition, horticulture, clothing/textiles, photography, all types of crafts, and public speaking presentations. 4-H programs are now open to specific schools in the county as well! Hundreds of adult volunteers assist their efforts throughout the year.
