Introduction

Basic Description The legend of Bloo is a side-scroller for the PC, and IOS systems and is based around space combat. Bloo the main character must rescue his family from the mysterious aliens who plan to use cow DNA to create an unstoppable force. Target Audience The main focus of this game is to attract the young audience. This game can be played casually or very intensely by the older players due to variants of in game difficulty. On a farm called Dream Hoof are many cows who like to eat and sleep. One night while the cows where resting alien crafts abducted every one of them but one. Bloo the only cow who uses an outhouse due to OCD was using the restroom while his family was taken away. Bloo was clueless as to what just happened. He finally sees the spacecraft in the distance. He chases the space craft but he is far too slow to catch up. He would never see his family again if he didnt come up with an idea. He wishes on a star and with great surprise his wish comes true. He

acquires ridiculous super hero powers and darts off to space to rescue his family. With great power comes great responsibility. Bloo must suppress his rage and think straight so he can focus on saving his family rather than seeking to wipe out the aliens from the face of the galaxy. Players will get to choose to be a hero or a relentless savage. Unfortunately Bloo wakes up when he wins or loses the game.

Level Settings

These are the level settings which describe the art style and direction of each of the levels. Settings may change. Level 1(Asteroid Storm)- Bloo chose the wrong time to chase the aliens because a huge asteroid storm is interfering with his plans. Planets pass by as well as their glory. The stars illuminate the deep void of space as Bloo travels through the abyss, dodging and annihilating the high speed rocks. Why Bloo?

Why should a cow named bloo be the center of gameplay you ask? Why not? Aliens have been messing with cows and other animals since the dawn of time. It is about time for someone to stand up against the tyrants of space. I dont think there has been a cow that has a teleporting laser beam eye either.

Design History

I recently began questioning why childrens books werent being used as a viable option to express game play ideas. The rhyme Hey diddle diddle, the cat and the fiddle, the cow jumped over the moon popped into my head and magic started to happen. I was determined to make a game about a cow in space. Through design iterations I found out ways on how to make it work. At first I drew a cow jumping over fences and eating hamburgers. The hamburgers would slow him down. I loved that idea so much. I remember drawing fat cows on every page. This idea slowly lost momentum. I couldnt just have him jumping and eating hamburgers. The cow had no motivation at all. I went back to the drawing board literally. I then came up with the idea of a puppet cow platformer. The cow was now attached to a stick. He would still jump over things but this time he would rotate around planets like super Mario galaxy. This idea was playful and fun but I couldnt seem to mold it into what I wanted. During Storyboarding class I was inspired to make a storyboard about a cow in space. Didnt know what the story was just yet but I knew it would be good. I finally gave my cow something to fight for. I put him on a farm and allowed his family to be abducted by aliens. Combine that with reading superman comics and I had a story. Bloo the laser eyed cow was

formed. The Gameplay seemed to manifest itself at this point. It wasnt what I intentionally wanted but it solved the problem.

The camera is stationary at all times. The background scrolls while the player stays stationary to give off the illusion of movement. Player Attacks

Red Hot Laser The red hot laser eye is the bread and butter of the game. With this attack Bloo can destroy asteroids and alien ships in a snap. Super Friendly Teleporting Laser Bloo also has secondary laser that can teleport friendly targets. Each time a cow is hit with this they are returned safely to the farm. Enemies and Obstacles

In The Legend of Bloo players are faced with obstacles and challenges that try and hinder the players success. Each level provides a new challenge. Below is a list of the various enemies and obstacles players will face. Asteroid First appearance level 1. The asteroid comes back in later levels. Description: The asteroid is a common foe used in a range of video games. This one in particular has 4 stages of life. 100 percent 50 percent 25 percent and 0 percent. The asteroid also varies in speed. When this object hits the player it causes -25 damage. In later levels it can inflict up to 50 percent damage. On Hard mode it will kill the player in 1 hit. The player can destroy an asteroid in 4 hits. If they teleport an asteroid to the farm it will kill the teleported cows. Players must avoid this at all costs.

Skin Variants: Level 1-Brown. Level 4+-Silver
