INTRODUCTION

Muslims need to obey their obligation to perform Solat (Muslims prayers) regardless of where they are. Muslims need to identify their current location in order to know prayer times schedule and Qiblat Direction. This app presents an innovative system to determine the real-time prayer times and the current digital Qiblat direction using Smartphone with GPS capabilities. The benefit of GPS utilized in this system is to obtain accurate location information. GPSolat combination of Global Positioning System (GPS) and Solat. This app has been developed for Windows Mobile 6. Were planning to port this app for Windows Phone and adding a new feature (auto silent mode)

This menu contains Gregorian and Hijri date, Prayer Reminder Schedule of Prayer Times at any location and time Athan Reciting The time for each prayer times is referred to the Universal Time (UT) and convert to Local Time automatically. Prayer times always changing at any time depends on the current location of user. In Prayer Reminders menu, it shows the eligible praying time and the duration lefts for current prayer time. It also shows the next prayer time information and five minutes alarms before the incoming next prayer time.

The direction of Qiblat can be obtained by pointing the PDA GPS in front of the user or mobile vehicle direction and the arrow of the compass will be pointing to the Qiblat automatically

The direction of Qiblat can be obtained by pointing the device at any direction (suitable for stationary situation). Applicable only for GPS with electronic Magnetic device

GPS data interfaced to the Windows Phone can intelligently recognize the mosque location, which is based on the provided mosque database. As the user approaching the mosque, the app will automatically turn the Windows Phone to silent mode. The Windows Phone will be automatically turned back to normal mode as the user leaving the mosque boundary.
