b. System Performance is Computer performance which is characterized by the amount of useful work accomplished by a computer system compared to the time and resources used. (See their icons on the Systems Tray far-right hand corner of the Gray Bar at the bottom of the Desktop). Removing TSR Programs has two benefits: Reclaims much needed System (RAM) Memory; and, Improves on the Computer Booting Performance. Consider making them NOT to automatically run at BOOT-UP time. You can: Disable automatic call-up at Booting. To do that, run msconfig Ms-DOS utility program at the DOS prompt, and select programmes that you dislike to run.

Hard Disk space is required for two reasons: Store Data files/Installed Program files; and, When OS is short on System Memory (RAM) to do its work, it takes certain amount of Hard Disk Space and make it become what is known as a VIRTUAL MEMORY.
