Mobile Network Optimisation India
Optimising mobile network capabilities and maximising spectrum use India's mobile data traffic is expected to more than double by 2015, as the proliferation of smart devices significantly changes traffic profiles and increases pressure on signaling infrastructure. What is the key to successfully accommodate increasing capacity demands? The key question is the economics of it. With the decreasing profitability of new services (particularly data), the need to optimise and lower the cost of the networks is imperative to monetise this growing trend. With increased smartphone usage, operators need to upgrade their networks to LTE, HSDA+ and WiMAX, as well as enhance existing network capabilities. Without expanding coverage and increasing capacity, operators cannot meet customer demand and due to the competitive nature of the telecommunication industry, mobile operators must continuously optimise their cellular networks to ensure they are working to their full capacity.
