Book Fees
Books fees serve to keep things simple, and allow us to upgrade the curriculum when needed. We consolidate literature text costs with the other required student purchases, lab fees, required testing fees and art fees. Also, since we do not charge for textbooks (upwards to $300 annually per student), a small portion of this fee will also help off-set the large costs of needed upgrades of certain curricular materials and replace some of our worn and outdated textbooks.

This fee will include the following: Literature paperback books PSAT Testing Ignatius Bible Student Planner (Grades 4-8) Henle Latin Book (Paperbacks) Writers Manual Book Bag Note bene: Fee does not cover lost or damaged items. Charges will be required for items needing replacement e.g., lost Word Smart $13.

PLEASE RETURN BELOW SECTION 2012-13 Book Fee Remit Slip FAMILY NAME: The book fees per student are as follows: Grades 9-12 $100.00 x # H.S. students Grades 4-8 $50.00 x # M.S.students + = total due for middle school books = total due for high school books

AMDG St. Augustine Academy UNIFORM POLICY Grade 4-12 2012-2013 St. Augustine Academy understands and promotes the maxim that external order produces internal order. Additionally, since our business at school is professional, rather than social in nature, these parameters will help guide the student in application of the dress code in order to aid in a neat, orderly work environment with minimal distraction. Consequently, we have developed the following guidelines for creating an orderly environment: From the handbook: ALL STUDENTS: Shoes Shoes should be clean and neat (aim for soles less than 1 inch thick.) (No sandals or boots.) Uniform Sweaters/Sweatshirts - If sweaters/sweatshirts are worn, they should only be the Navy Blue Uniform Sweater or Sweatshirts w/ Logo, and they must be worn over the regular white collared shirts. [See Lands End and Dennis Uniform Product List note: Dennis sweaters do not come with logo, Lands End items must be ordered with logo in order to meet school code.] Coats, hats, etc. are considered outside wear and can only be worn outside. ALL GIRLS: Blouse - Dennis Uniform banded blouse, item number 01227A-911. OR New Blouse 005780-864-119 Socks Solid white, navy, black, or kelly green no leggings (tights without feet, legwarmers, etc.) Skirt - Plaid from Dennis Uniform, item # H1890A-201 (knee length or below lengthen if needed.) Tights - Opaque white or opaque navy blue tights during cold weather may be worn. Shorts - For modesty during outdoor activities, shorts worn under skirt is highly recommended. Upon discretion of the teacher, they may be required. ALL BOYS: Shirt - Regular day: Polo/Golf style: white smooth or mesh knit with short sleeves, a collar Mass/Field Trip day: (full dress uniform) white oxford (long/short sleeve.) Shirt needs to be able to be tucked. Socks - White or dark socks (navy, black, charcoal). Pants - Navy Uniform Slacks (purchasable from Dennis, Target, Lands End, etc.) These items must be purchased from St. Augustine. Ties for girls and boys $10.00 each P.E. T-shirts

$10.00 each

OTHER: Full Dress The only difference from daily uniform is boys wear Oxford Shirts* and ALL students wear Uniform Tie** (available for purchase in office). NO POLO SHIRTS WITH TIES. BACKPACKS! Note: Backpacks have been a problem in the classrooms, clogging isles and causing excessive damage to books, due to the excessive weight when being dropped or slammed with certain books taking more of the brunt of the force, breaking spines, etc. To help create order, students will need to use their lockers regularly this year. The schedule allows for locker time. We provide an SAA tote bag for each student in grades 7 and 8 to aid in the shuttling of a few books with pencils and papers into the classroom. Sturdy school tote bags are available in the office. High school students may provide their own tote bag. Meanwhile, the backpack and other books can be stored in the locker. It should aid to the overall neatness and order of the classrooms, thereby increasing the order of each student. Continued ...

P.E. Sport shoes. P.E. Shorts (any loose fitting, mid-thigh athletic shorts worn at the waist.) P.E. Uniform Shirt (available for purchase in the office). Optionals: Sweaters/Sweatshirt with School Logo (available from Lands End (w/logo) or Dennis Uniform). Tights - for girls in cooler weather. (not leggings) Undershirts may be worn but must be plain white or the school P.E. shirt. Girls no colored items to be worn under blouse, e.g., colored sun shirt, camisole, etc., AND, undershirt must remain tucked in. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Also from the handbook: DRESS CODE: St. Augustine Academy understands and promotes the maxim that external order produces internal order. Consequently, we have developed the following guidelines for creating a consistently attractive, neat and orderly environment for all students. For a professional atmosphere, we follow: All students are to present themselves in a neat and clean manner at all times out of respect for themselves and others. e.g., groomed, clean shaven and properly-sized, clean clothing. No tatoos, body piercing, etc. Boys shirts must be tucked in during class. Shoes must be kept clean.

Again, to promote a professional atmosphere where learning and respect are pursued, the following directives are akin to codes found in many corporations in our country. Even golf courses, restaurants and jury duty require codes of dress. So, in our efforts to give our students a head start, we hope to prepare them for the real world, as well as eternal life. Girls: All girls are expected to maintain skirt lengths at or below the knee as well as neat and clean blouses. (Check skirt length easily by seeing if hem touches ground when kneeling. Dennis Uniform said there should be no length problem in their skirts.) Hair is to be neat and pulled back out of the face. (No highlighting, color changing, excessively gelled, or excessive hair-styles are permitted). Jewelry is limited to one pair of earrings (dime size or smaller) and a simple religious item. Makeup permitted for high school girls only, includes: - Lip balm/gloss (clear) - Clear nail polish. - Moderate foundation - No lipstick, eye liner or shadow, etc.. Boys: All boys are expected to maintain their uniforms and personal appearance in a clean, neat, and orderly fashion. Uniforms must be of the proper size, clean and worn properly. Pants are to be worn at the waist. Hair is to be cut neatly and kept above the collar line, ears, and eyebrows. No "mod" haircuts, e.g., "bowl" cuts, tails, highlighting, excessively gelled, colored, spikes, etc. Jewelry will be limited to no more than one simple religious item. No earrings.
