The premier solution to bring about justice in the earth is partnering with the God through intercession. God saw that there was there was no intercessor and became the intercessor that He was looking for. It was in the cross that Gods full provision for justice was made and church history is the unfolding of human history until the full manifestation of His justice at His coming.
He

saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor; therefore His own arm brought salvation for Him; and His own righteousness, it sustained Him. Isaiah 59:16 And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth? Luke 18:7-8 III. JESUS THE SERVANT KING A. B. God has put upon His Servant the Holy Spirit upon Him and the message of the Gospel in Him to declare to the nations of the earth in partnership with the Bride. Justice will go forth through the power of the Spirit and the preaching of the Word of God (the Apostolic Gospel). It is interesting to note that that the two premiere weapons to bring about Justice given to the servant king are: 1. 2. The Spirit The Word

Behold! My Servant whom I uphold, My Elect One in whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles. Isaiah 42:1 As for Me, says the LORD, this is My covenant with them: My Spirit who is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your descendants, nor from the mouth of your descendants descendants, says the LORD, from this time and forevermore. Isaiah 59:21 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me because the LORD has anointed Me Isaiah 61:1 C. Justice in essence is when all things are reconciled with each other and with the Godhead. In Gen 1 God spoke the Word and the Spirit moved creating all things in harmony with the Godhead. The way towards restoration is the same hence the Spirit and the Word the Apostolic Gospel

IV.

GODS ZEAL TO JUDGE AND TO SAVE (ISAIAH 59:14-21) A. B. There is no justice, righteousness or truth in the land - Isaiah 59:14 Justice will not go forth in full manifestation until Christ establishes His theocratic government to have one global government / nation under God. This will take place over a period of a thousand years also known as the millennium. When Jesus sets up His throne in Jerusalem justice will go forth through the earth.

He will not fail nor be discouraged, till He has established justice in the earth; and the coastlands shall wait for His law. Isaiah 42:4 The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. Now it shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the LORDs house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow to it. Many people shall come and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, and we shall walk in His paths. For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. He shall judge between the nations, and rebuke many people; they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore. Isaiah 2:1-4 C. The Lords response of displeasure to injustice - Isaiah 59:15. God has deep displeasure concerning the issue of injustice in the earth but in His desire to establish justice (Isa 42:4) The Lord made provision to bring about justice in the earth - Isaiah 59:16. The 2nd Person of the Trinity died on the cross as the premiere act of intercession to satisfying the displeasure of God. Christ now continues as the intercessor (59:16) at the right hand of God forever for the manifestation of justice (Heb 7:25) To intervene/interpose means to stand between people and the consequences of their moral collapse1 His intercession is sustained by His own righteousness in that it is God being faithful to who He is and His plan If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself. 1 Timothy 2:13 I know that You can do everything, and that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You. Job 42:2 And I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals. Then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy (qualified) to open the scroll and to loose its seals(to establish justice in the earth Isaiah 42:2)? And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it.(John wonders if there is an intercessor Isa. 59:16) Revelation 5:1-3 But one of the elders said to me, Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed (His own arm brought salvation for Him) to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.(establish justice Isa 42:4) Revelation 5:5 E. Revelation 5 shows us the Servant King Lamb (the intercessor) endued with the Spirit to administrate Gods divine justice on the earth.

And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain,(Isa 59:16) having seven horns and seven eyes (He is endued with the full manifestation of the Spirit Isa 42:1, Isa 59:21, Isa 61:1), which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth. Then He came and took the scroll (the blueprint for justice) out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne. Revelation 5:6-7 F. G. Revelation 6, 8-9, 15-16 is Jesus administrating Gods plan to establish justice in the earth. Gods zeal is to make wrong things right. Gods commitment is to end all expressions of sin, rebellion, injustice, poverty, oppression, racism, systemic injustice, corruption etc. Our only hope is the Apostolic Gospel, the true theology of justice. At the end of the age there will be steady decline of personal, societal, national and global morality. This will happen because God is getting at the root and exposing the true nature of injustice, which is humanitys rebellion against God. But the rest of mankind(across the globe), who were not killed by these plague did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk. And they did not repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts. Revelation 9:20-21 H. The garments of justice Isaiah 59:17-18 1. 2. 3. I. Righteousness Salvation Vengeance

The garments of Jesus here describe the anointing given to the Him to accomplish the task of establishing justice in the earth. These garments give us insight into His splendor beauty and His majesty2 It is a work which will display and satisfy his righteousness, save his people, repay his foes and be carried through to completion by the driving motivation of divine zeal.3 The revelation of Gods divine motivation is what will give the church, the poor and the oppressed of the earth assurance that justice will come to thus who entrust their lives under the leadership of Jesus.
Of

the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this. Isaiah 9:7 The LORD shall go forth like a mighty man; He shall stir up His zeal like a man of war. He shall cry out, yes, shout aloud; He shall prevail against His enemies. Isaiah 42:13

since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with tribulation those who trouble you, and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 1:6-8 J. Justice demands salvation and vengeance. The Lord has taken it upon Himself to become the Man who could bring about salvation for the oppressed and vengeance against those who do not obey the gospel of God. Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered; let those also who hate Him flee before Him. As smoke is driven away, so drive them away; as wax melts before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God. 3 But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God; yes, let them rejoice exceedingly. 4 Sing to God, sing praises to His name; extol Him who rides on the clouds, by His name YAH, and rejoice before Him. 5 A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy habitation. 6 God sets the solitary in families; He brings out those who are bound into prosperity; but the rebellious dwell in a dry land. Psalm 68:1-6

behold, in those days and at that time, when I bring back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem, 2 I will also gather all nations, and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; and I will enter into judgment with them there on account of My people, My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; they have also divided up My land. 3 They have cast lots for My people, have given a boy as payment for a harlot, and sold a girl for wine, that they may drink. 4 Indeed, what have you to do with Me, O Tyre and Sidon, and all the coasts of Philistia? Will you retaliate against Me? But if you retaliate against Me, swiftly and speedily I will return your retaliation upon your own head Joel 3:1-4 K. In Isaiah 60-66 we see Gods great execution of His master plan to administrate justice in the earth which will not happen until Jesus establishes the theocratic government in Jerusalem from which Gods righteous law will God forth. Though there can be tokens of justice between the cross and the 2nd coming of Christ (2 Chron. 7:14; Joel 2:12-14). The full manifestation of justice is contingent on the rule of Jesus out of Zion. The garments of justice also reveal to us Gods divine tools and strategic weapons He will use to accomplish that which is in His heart related to justice. He will establish righteousness by bring releasing salvation on those who have said yes to His gospel and releasing vengeance (Rev 6-19) on those who oppose His gospel. One of the things that we see in Isaiah is that this reality justice will be established in the whole earth. There are global implications to the unfolding of this divine drama of justice. Behold! My Servant whom I uphold, My Elect One in whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles. Isaiah 42:1

He will not fail nor be discouraged, Till He has established justice in the earth; And the coastlands shall wait for His law. Isaiah 42:4 Listen to Me, My people; And give ear to Me, O My nation: For law will proceed from Me, And I will make My justice rest As a light of the peoples. Isaiah 51:4 V. FORERUNNER GLOBAL WORSHIP MOVEMENT: GODS DIVINE STRATEGY FOR JUSTICE Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise from the ends of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that is in it, you islands, and all who live in them. Let the desert and its towns raise their voices; let the settlements where Kedar lives rejoice. Let the people of Sela sing for joy; let them shout from the mountaintops. Let them give glory to the LORD and proclaim his praise in the islands. The LORD will march out like a mighty man, like a warrior he will stir up his zeal; with a shout he will raise the battle cry and will triumph over his enemies. Isaiah 42:10-13 The Spirit and the bride say, "Come!..." Revelation 22:17 A. To prepare the church for this mandate we must preach to them beauty of the Son of God, call them to good news of eschatology and the sermon on the mount (Mt 6:33) while touching them with the mercy deeds of the gospel. The global worship movement that is being birthed in the earth at this present time is a precursor to the worship movement (Isa 56) that will fill the earth under the leadership of Jesus in the millennium unto the eternity. The precursor or forerunner global prayer movement will result in the fullness of the Gentiles, which is necessary for all Israel to be saved. One of the main points of Isaiah 60-66 is that only when the Lord returns to the earth and Israel is saved can global justice be secured as the law will go forth from Zion through out the earth. Again I ask: Did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? Not at all! Rather, because of their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel envious. But if their transgression means riches for the world, and their loss means riches for the Gentiles, how much greater riches will their fullness bring! I am talking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch as I am the apostle to the Gentiles, I make much of my ministry in the hope that I may somehow arouse my own people to envy and save some of them. For if their rejection is the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead? Romans 11:11-15 VI. THE ABRAHAMIC COVENANT: THE FULLNESS OF JUSTICE ISAIAH 60 A. Isaiah 60 is an overview of the vision of fullness. Isaiah 61-66 is the journey and the execution of the plan of fullness under the leadership of Jesus

Luke 4:18 makes it very clear that Jesus is the one equipped to bring about the glorious unfolding of divine justice in the earth. Isaiah 60-66 is filled with hope and it is intended to comfort through the gospel the souls of the people of God so that they may go forth and comfort others. We will only be able to comfort Israel (Isa 40:1) by that which we have been comforted by. For us to comfort Israel with the gospel, we much ourselves be comforted by it. Therefore comfort one another with these words. 1 Thessalonians 4:18

C.

Isaiah 60 is an overview of the fullness of justice released in the earth as it pertains to God fulfilling His promise made to Abraham and centrality of the theocratic government is to be set up in Jerusalem and from there the leadership of God will flow to the nations of the earth. It is clear that when the Lord visited Abraham with His covenant that the Lord had all the earth in mind. The election of Abraham was an act of mercy to the whole earth. Election reveals the wisdom and the mercy of God and that the plan of redemption hinges on the leadership of God. God will about His plans to establish justice and we are invited to cooperate with Him in Christ Jesus. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed. Genesis 12:3 I, the LORD, have called You in righteousness, and will hold Your (Jesus) hand; I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people, as a light to the Gentiles Isaiah 42:6

D.

E.

His election is His mercy. His mercy is revealed in Him choosing a people. The choosing of a people did not mean their salvation. It meant that Israel was offered a divine mandate of leadership that they would walk in if they said yes. The promise of God was that through Abrahams seed all the nations of the earth would be blessed. I believe that the seed has two applications. 1. 2. The remnant of Israel (obvious interpretation) Christ (the primary interpretation according to the scripture) Christ is the premiere inheritor of the covenants leading the remnant of Israel into their inheritance and the gentiles who are in Christ become partakers of the promises. Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, And to seeds, as of many, but as of one, and to your Seed, who is Christ. Galatians 3:16 That the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel Galatians 3:16

F.

VII.

THE GLORY OF THE LORD WILL ARISE UPON HIS PEOPLE (ISAIAH 60:1-3) A. Isaiah 60 is about 2nd Coming of Christ (the premier Seed of Abraham) to inherit His promise, leading the premier inheritors (Messianic Israel) into the consummation of the promise of Israel and those who bless Israel and her Christ will be blessed.

A THEOLOGY OF SUFFERING & JUSTICE, FALL 2012: SESSION 05 NOTES THE RELEASE OF JUSTICE IN THE EARTH, PART 1 STUART GREAVES
ISAIAH 58-63 B. C. The Light of Justice Shining through out the earth Isaiah 60:1-2 The second coming Christ is here described as the new genesis. There is deep darkness over the earth and the light (justice) of God breaks in and fills the earth. The light of God has come to the people of God. The light of Gods glory is what removes the deep darkness of injustice as it inwardly transforms His people with bright righteous making Israel a burning and shining lamp. For Zions sake I will not hold My peace, and for Jerusalems sake I will not rest, until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, and her salvation as a lamp that burns. Isaiah 62:1 E. When Christ returns the fullness of the covenant promise in Isa. 59:20-21 will be fulfilled inwardly transforming the nation of Israel whose acceptance will be life from the dead for the world bringing all of created order back to its intended harmony with one another and the Godhead under the leadership of Jesus Christ. First, regarding to salvation, what the Lord does for Zion he does for the world. The particular work is worldwide in significance; the world is saved in the salvation of Zion. Secondly, while missionary outreach is not unknown in the Old Testament, Dt 4:5-8, Josh 2:10 and 2 Kings 5 speak more typically of the magnetic quality of the Lord and of the people among who he is found.4 The nations of the earth shall walk in the light of justice Isaiah 60:3. The light of Gods glory will compel the nations and their leadership to flow to Zion. Now it shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the LORDs house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow to it. Isaiah 2:2-3 Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in His holy mountain. Beautiful in elevation, the joy of the whole earth, is Mount Zion on the sides of the north, the city of the great King. God is in her palaces; He is known as her refuge. For behold, the kings assembled, they passed by together. They saw it, and so they marveled; they were troubled, they hastened away. Fear took hold of them there Psalm 48:1-6 VIII. HE CAME TO SET THE CAPTIVES AND THE OPPRESSED FREE (ISAIAH 60:4-5, 8-9) A. B. The nations of the earth shall come to the light and Jewish captives released Isaiah 60:4 The context of the release of the Jewish captives from prison camps is that the events of Isaiah 60 are preceded by the greatest hour of injustice in the earth. The earth has been ravaged by the rule and reign of the anti-Christ, global war, terror, famine, death, murder, immorality, sorcery and theft. The worst persecution of born again believers and the remnant Jews had just come an end because of the return of the Lord.

The anguish of spirit heal and the wealth of the nations shall flow to Jerusalem Isaiah 60:5, 8-9 Israel sees their people return to the land their heart will be filled with joy and they will become radiant with the life and light of God in the spirit. This is good news because what God does in Israel He will do likewise in the nations of the earth. Like in the Exodus during the days of Moses so the Jewish prisoners will return to the land of Israel with the wealth of the nations. Now the children of Israel had done according to the word of Moses, and they had asked from the Egyptians articles of silver, articles of gold, and clothing. And the LORD had given the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they granted them what they requested. Thus they plundered the Egyptians. Exodus 12:35-36

RACIAL TENSION BETWEEN JEW AND GENTILES HEALED ISAIAH 60:6-7, 10-14 A. B. The worship of the Gentiles will be accepted Isaiah 60:6-7 The issue of worship is about the issue of fullness. The fullness of God comes to every family called by Gods name in unity and worship. Racism keeps this reality from happening. The worship that God desires that worship that flows from every nation, tribe, and tongue in the embrace of one another in Christ Jesus. For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole (redeemed) family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you (Jew and Gentile), according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all (Jew and Gentile) the saints what is the width and length and depth and height to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you(One New Man) may be filled with all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:14-19 And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. For through Him we both (Jew and Gentile) have access by one Spirit to the Father. Ephesians 2:17-18 And with this the words of the prophets agree, just as it is written: After this I will return and will rebuild the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down; I will rebuild its ruins, and I will set it up; So that the rest of mankind may seek the LORD, even all the Gentiles who are called by My name, says the LORD who does all these things. Acts 15:15-17 C. The nations that hated Israel have now become lovers of the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and the God of our Lord Jesus Christ and become messengers of the gospel to the nations of the earth. (they shall proclaim the praises of the Lord) Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem. And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it. But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles. And they will tread (the Gentiles) the holy city underfoot for forty-two months. Revelation 11:2 D. E. Nations will help rebuild Zion Isaiah 60:10-14. The nations coming to rebuild Jerusalem is a revelation of the kindness and the compassion of God to the nations of the earth. The Gentiles can only come to Jerusalem having had the revelation of Gods kindness in the cross of Christ and the Gentiles coming to Israel and a revelation of kindness to Israel. The Gentiles who once were used as Gods instruments of wrath are now His instruments of favor. Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers. For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. For as you (Gentiles) were once disobedient to God, yet have now obtained mercy through their (Jews) disobedience, even so these (Jews) also have now been disobedient, that through the mercy shown you(Gentiles) they (Jews) also may obtain mercy. For God has committed them all (Jew and Gentile) to disobedience, that He might have mercy on all. Romans 11:28-32 G. If the words rebuild and serve suggest menial status, we are missing the point. They are rather evidence of a true zeal to a citizens part now that they are citizens.5 Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God Ephesians 2:19 H. The transformation of Jerusalem Isaiah 60:15-18 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. I. Alienation due to racism healed. Ethnic groups will enjoy one another (Jew and Gentile). Ethnic groups will nurture one another (Jew and Gentile). Nations will give of their best to others, no more hoarding of national goods (Jew and Gentile). There will international, national and urban safety again and people will feel safe in their communities.
