IC3 Fast Track for CGS 1060 Exemption Assessment

Objective: To give TCC students the opportunity to exempt the CGS1060 course by demonstrating their digital literacy skills. Students who pass IC Fast Track assessment will earn 3 elective credits. IC Fast Track is used to gauge digital literacy skills of college students.*

What is the IC3 Fast Track Assessment? IC Fast Track is based on the globally recognized Certiport IC, the world's only globally recognized standards-based certification for fundamental computing and Internet skills. How can I tell if I passed the IC3 Fast Track? You will receive a Pass or Fail score based on your number of correct answers for each of the three sections of the test. How many questions are in the IC3 Fast Track? There are 73 questions in the assessment. These questions are broken out to address the IC3 objectives in Computing Fundamentals, Key Applications and Living Online. Is the IC3 Fast Track timed? Yes, the IC3 Fast Track is timed. You have 60 minutes to complete the assessment. Who should take the IC3 Fast Track? Students interested earning 3 elective credits by exempting the CGS1060 course. How will TCC use the IC3 Fast Track Assessment? An instructor who is a certified proctor will administer the test in a proctored environment. Students who pass the Assessment will receive 3 credit hours for CGS1060, complete their computer literacy requirement and receive an S on their transcript.

Step 1:

Pay a $15 TCC Fee at Cashiers Office (Student Union room 278). You will receive an exemption assessment receipt. You must bring a copy of the receipt with you when you register with Ms. Mellino, staff assistant for Computer Technology. (see Step #3). Buy an assessment voucher from the TCC Bookstore @ $22.

On the day of the assessment bring your TCC picture ID and your cashiers receipt (#1),
After completion of the assessment, you will see if you passed or failed the assessment. If you pass the assessment, Ms. Mellino will forward the exemption paperwork to the Dean of Technology and Professional Programs for approval, then on to Enrollment Services to add the credits to your transcript.
