New Desktop Integrator Responsiblity Missing Integrators [ID 472160.1]

Modified: 31-Jul-2012 Type: PROBLEM Status: PUBLISHED Priority: 3

In this Document Symptoms Changes Cause Solution References

Applies to:
Oracle Web Applications Desktop Integrator - Version 11.5.10.2 to 12.1.3 [Release 11.5 to 12.1] Information in this document applies to any platform. This problem can occur on any platform.

Symptoms
After upgrading to R12, the old "Oracle Web ADI" responsibility is obsolete, the Create Document function does not work, and old integrators (both seeded and custom) are missing. Added responsibility "Desktop Integrator" as per My Oracle Support. The "Create Document" function under the new responsibility works. Only a handful of seeded integrators are shown on the list of values: Enterprise Performance Foundation: Hierarchy Integrator Enterprise Performance Foundation: Member Integrator Financial Consolidation Hub: Intercompany maps Financial Consolidation Hub: Dimension Hierarchies Financial Consolidation Hub: Value Set Mapping General Ledger - Budgets General Ledger - Journals Intercompany - Single Batch Entry

Changes
Upgraded from 11i to R12i.

Cause
What you are seeing in the list of integrators is by design and functions have not been properly added to the responsibilities for additional Integrators to be displayed. Web ADI in 11i introduced the securing of integrators associated by form functions. In R12 (in response to enhancement requests) only the integrators whose form functions exist in the currently selected responsibility will be shown in the Create Document Page Flow. The Define Layout and Define Mapping flows are considered Administrator flows and so their lists are not restricted. . The Desktop Integration responsibility is a convenient location for storing Web ADI form functions. The design intent was always to launch the desktop enabled functionality from within the owning application. For example, Launching Journal Wizard from inside a GL responsibility.

Solution
As documented in Bug 6635110, this is intended functionality. Review the product (HRMS, GL, ...) documentation for more information on which product specific responsibilities contain Web ADI Functions. NOTE: With 11i ATG RUP7, and all R12.0 and R12.1 installs, "Oracle Web ADI" and "Desktop Integrator" responsibilities are obsolete. One way to see all of the integrators is to assign the Desktop Integration responsibility along with the "System Administrator" or the "Applications Administrator" if using On Demand, responsibilites to the user.
