Keyworth Digital Arts & Media Centre

The Arts and Media Centre is a purpose built teaching and production facility. We have eight labs containing 123 Apple G5 Intel computers running all the major software packages that you would expect to find in a professional environment.

In addition we have specialist areas dedicated to high-end production such as video editing suites, a recording studio, audio booths and photographic studio with printing and scanning facilities.

Students access labs for both teaching and developing their own production work. Individual accounts and dedicated server space enable them to work on any computer in any room.

Technical Demonstration staff The Technical Demonstration team demonstrate hardware, software and support all practise-based units. They manage the installation and maintenance of all computers, hardware, software and AV equipment. Software All software packages are current versions updated every year with a new image build. Licences are concurrent and managed by key server management software.

Kit Room Students can access hardware equipment, such as video and photography cameras, microphones and field recording equipment to record the content for their production work.

Edric Hall Theatre The conversion of the Edric Hall into a contemporary performance space and theatre come to fruition over the past four years, just in time to serve the new Drama and Performance Studies, and Theatre Production courses.

The Edric Hall spaces comprise a main auditorium with a large performance area, seating for 60, a smaller performance and rehearsal Studio and a third smaller space suitable for seminars, and more intimate teaching.

All spaces are fitted with AV teaching resources and projectors. The two main spaces - the Auditorium and the Studio have lighting and sound equipment for performance, with curtaining in the Auditorium to create a more theatrical feeling.
