Marshall is an author,
speaker, and President of Executive Advisor, LLC, an independent consulting firm founded in 1997 that specializes in leadership development and executive effectiveness. She has been assisting leaders in public and private sector industry, non-profit agencies, and public education for nearly 30 years. Through workshops, seminars, and personalized coaching, Susan focuses on the fundamental skills of critical thinking, decisiveness, clarity of communication, integrity of word and act, and consistency. Her book, How to Grow a Backbone: 10 Strategies for Gaining Power and Influence at Work, has been translated into multiple languages and is especially popular in Asia. Her new book, Of Beauty and Substance: A Backbone Guide for Women will be published this year. She also offers Confidence Clinics for Women through her new organization, Backbone Institute.
