Dear Family: We are just a few weeks away from our next family reunion! We look forward to seeing our loved ones soon. A great time has been planned for all of us when we are together in October! We have a pressing matter to address in this letter. Sadly, not all families have paid their dues yet. We ask that families who have not paid their dues please do so in a prompt manner. There are still many families that have not paid. This is an urgent matter. We have all seen that year after year, each host family strives to achieve a great reunion. It is a family tradition for the Mendozas to gather every two years and if you are the host family, it takes a great deal of planning and time. There are costs ahead of the reunion such as reserving and paying for cabins so that we can stay together as a group. The host family must pay for these upfront before dues are even collected and then collect the cabin fees from family members, one cabin at a time. This year, 20 cabins were reserved and paid at a cost of $56.00 for each one. There are also supplies, prizes, and added costs of purchasing items to make the event a special one. All family dues are used solely for the family reunion and there is no profit or extra money left over. The dues are genuinely spent for the family. They are collected for the enjoyment of our family so that our children and our grandchildren can hear the stories; learn about the heritage and the roots of the Mendoza family. Parents and grandparents should make every effort to be at the reunion and being a part of something great. We ask that all family heads reach out to your children and grandchildren to make sure that they have all paid their dues. We understand that we are in tough times or that some may be a little under the weather but if there's anything we could do to help, please let us know. We are family, and family ALWAYS sticks together no matter what! If you are unable to make it to the family reunion due to an unforeseen circumstance, and you would still like to make a small donation to help someone else or for supplies and gifts, you are welcome to do so and it would be greatly appreciated! We still have our PayPal account set up so you can go online to pay your dues. We have a family dues outline for each individual family however in some families, we need an update on children living with you or not. Family Dues: The dues for the reunion are as follows: Families of 3 or more (including children in the home under age of 18) - $40.00 Families of 2, or individuals - $25.00 All adult children over the age of 18 in your family are responsible for paying dues. The dues may seem a bit high, and we realize that the economic times are hard right now, however, it averages to $20/$12.50 a year. Our family continues to grow every year and the money will be used to pay for the cost of prizes, games, supplies, etc. for our growing family to enjoy. As a family courtesy, please make sure that you pay your dues every reunion to help the hosting family cover the cost of planning and organizing the reunion with as little out of pocket expense as possible!
