General
Our safety procedures comply with the Laws of Trinidad and Tobago. We endeavour to instruct our personnel in general safety and the avoidance of hazards and dangerous occurrences to create a safe working environment. We provide sufficient qualified manpower of suitable physical and mental abilities to meet construction, maintenance and service requirements. Frequent inspections are carried out to ensure that unsafe conditions are eliminated. Any accidents which does occur is recorded is recorded in a Site Accident Book and reported to the Project Manager on the designated form, the cause of accident is investigated and action taken to prevent any re-occurrence.
Accident Prevention
Our project Manager is responsible for identifying potential hazards and for taking necessary action to eliminate such hazards. The Safety Officer will monitor progress of the work to ensure the maximum level of safety is maintained. Frequent inspections for hazardous conditions and unsafe practices will be made and action taken to correct the situation.
Safety Supervision
1. Proper instructions of all site personnel in the Safety Rules of the site and in the principles of Accident Prevention; 2. Review the site health and safety programme with all supervisors and subcontractors, identifying their responsibilities and emphasizing cooperation among all parties; 3. Ensuring that each person on site is supplied with the correct safety equipment and these equipment are properly maintained; 4. Carrying out regular inspection of the site to ensure that a safe methods of working are being used and that all safety regulations are being observed; 5. Ensuring that supervisors and other personnel take the required action to maintain safe working conditions; 6. Hold toolbox safety talks biweekly to provide regular awareness sessions and encourage employees to actively participate in health and safety matters. 7. Safety must be an item on the agenda at each site progress meeting. At these monthly site meetings there will be a report on the current status of the site and to advise upon and

implement any changes required, and to advise IBI of any accidents or dangerous occurrences that have been investigated.
For purposes of notification, accidents fall into four (4) categories: 1. 2. 3. 4. Permit to work
Permits to work are requested for activities such as work on electrical and fire system. These are only requested following inspection of site by our project manager in conjunction with IBIs Project Manager.
As part of our safety policy, all site electrical installation, including cabling, jointing and equipment are installed in accordance with statutory regulations by appropriately qualified personnel. Our project manager will regularly inspect such installation to check for defects in cables or joints and that effective earthing is maintained for every item and equipment.
Fire Protection
In the absence the installed fire protection service, suitable fire extinguishers will be provided. These will be regularly inspected and maintained. All fires, irrespective of size, will be recorded and reported inclusive of action taken.

As part of our Safety Policy, the Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that the site is kept free of debris and unwanted materials as far as possible. Suitable storage area will be allocated by the Client for loose materials, debris, etc., which will be removed from site on a regular basis.

Procedures
Toolbox safety talks will be held by our project engineer on site. The topics to be discussed during these meetings will be arranged by management and MOWT safety officer (if required). The following will be discussed: 1. Site specific conditions (hazard analysis) 2. Safety issues from other sources (DESSAU/MOWT/IBI/NIDCO, etc.) 3. General rules of conduct working in an office environment, courtesy and general appearance. 4. Other topics as necessary. The Engineer conducting the Safety Toolbox Talks will maintain documentations of the meeting, including topics discussed, recommendations, concerns made and the name of all attendees. All records of meetings will be maintained at Trinsults Head Office.
