Surgical masks, also called hygienic masks, protect the wearers surroundings from droplets and other particles that are expelled into the air when talking and exhaling. This retention as well as the resistance to sprays of blood and other fluids, is tested to the Medical Standard EN14683:2005. In comparison to that, FFP masks protect the wearer from airborne contaminants. This makes a high filter efficiency and a tight fit essential. These standards are not covered by the Medical standard but by EN149:2001, the standard for personal protective equipment.

THE MASKS WITHOUT EXHALATION VALVES OF THE AIR SERIES FULFILL BOTH STANDARDS AND OFFER PROTECTION FOR BOTH THE WEARER AND THEIR SURROUNDINGS.
