Key Achievements: - 10 innovative social entrepreneurs were selected from across Ireland, working to create social good through entrepreneurship. - Successfully recruited an appropriate Northern Ireland based project, which will encourage the development of a socially entrepreneurial ecosystem in Northern Ireland. - Delivered the project 4 weeks ahead of schedule. - Completed a comprehensive project review and developed an overview for use during future funding cycles. - Maintained consistently high application standards ensuring that the projects were rewarded for innovation, scalability and reach. - Recruited and coordinated 135 Diageo employees to work as reviewers throughout the funding process. - Strengthened the working relationship between senior management in both Social Entrepreneurs Ireland and Diageo. Responsibilities: Managed a 6-month programme of leadership training and public service for 38 interns from Ireland, Northern Ireland and South Africa in Washington D.C.; Organised weekly leadership development program; communications strategy including newsletters, website and social media; events management; Mentored the Program interns in professional development, speech writing and public service; Managed comprehensive orientation and reentry programs in Belfast and Dublin.; Assist in the ongoing marketing, recruitment and strategic development of the program; stakeholder management. Key Achievements: - Developed leadership program to include guest speakers, public service opportunities and facilitation of skills development workshops (networking, public speaking, professional development). - Designed new communications materials, including management of website design process and the development of newsletter templates for use with 250 key program supporters. - Expanded the Programs membership through press outreach and personal networking. - Co-organised the Programs 15th year celebrations attended by her excellency Mary McAleese, President of Ireland. - Arranged for program interns to be interviewed by then RTE Washington Correspondent, Charlie Bird. - Advise in ongoing strategic development of the program, including managing relationships with funders and university partners. Gave historical tours of the U.S. Capitol building and Senate Chamber. Key Policy Areas: - Responsible for the preparation of memos for the Senator on Guantanamo Bay, US/Afghan Relations, democracy in Bolivia, PEPFAR (Presidents Emergency Plan for AIDS relief) and International Development aid. - Performed constituent outreach on the China/Tibet conflict, the Iraq war, child trafficking, the Zimbabwean election and funding for Parkinsons disease.
