Confession of Sins
Almighty and Most Merciful Father, we come before You, acknowledging our sins, our shortcomings, and our breaking of our Covenant with You. Not only have we done things we ought not to have done, said things we ought not to have said, left undone so many things we ought to have done and been silent when we should have witnessed for You. Not only are we guilty of that, O Lord; but we have also closed our eyes and pretended not to see the injustices, the racism and the evil which pervade our everyday lives. We have shut our ears and pretended not to hear the cries for liberation which come from the lips, lives and hearts of the oppressed even our own Black brothers and sisters! Forgive us, O Lord, renew our courage and faith, and keep us ever mindful of Thy great sacrifice. Hear us, we beseech Thee, as we come to You in love and worship giving Your Name the praise forevermore. ****** To All Our Visitors ... To all who mourn and need comforting ... To all who are friendless and want friendship ... To all who are oppressed and need liberation; and to whosoever will come, Trinity opens its doors. Thank you for coming, and may God bless you.

Thank You
Trinity Family, I greet you from Tempe, Arizona, where I will have finished a week of classes as you hear and read this letter of gratitude. The love of Christ is the only love deep enough and wide enough to express how you all have blessed me. You have called me, prayed for me, emailed, texted, sent cards, connected me with your loved ones, congregations, and even offered suggestions for someone to cut my hair! Your encouragement and well-wishes are filled with the greatest love of all and you have touched the deepest parts of my soul. I am still overwhelmed and humbled by the gifts and offerings of love that you gave to me. I am still overwhelmed at the sacrifice of those who came to help pack and load the truck. There are individuals, ministries, and the whole congregation to whom I extend my sincere thanksI will be writing personal thank you notes until Jesus comes again! In the meantime, please accept these collective words of thanksgiving that pale in the face of what you corporately and personally have poured into my life. I thank you for embracing me. I covenant with you to strive for diligence and excellence in my studies. God constantly shows up to confirm that I am right where I am supposed to be in order to grow and serve in ministry. On the bus to class my very first day, I met a youth pastor from a Native American reservation and we had some fellowship along the ride about Gods grace keeping us. Hour by hour God is showing up and showing out just like that. I am taking four classes: Research Methods, Methods of Teaching Drama, Projects in Community-Based Drama, and Research in Drama Education, as well as an Interdisciplinary Research Colloquium. Thanks to you, Trinity family, I do not have to worry about buying all those books! I wish I could return to you what you have given to me a hundredfold. Thank you, thank you, and thank you again, with all my heart. If you want to know how God has used you to make my load lighter, just sing to yourself, Oh how He loves you/Oh how He loves me/Oh how He loves you and me. We are family! Peace, Rev. Tiffany

Did you know you can save money and be green while staying cool? It takes a lot of money and energy to keep a house comfortable during a Chicago summer. We can use our cooling systems efficiently to lower costs. For example, a ceiling fan will allow you to raise the thermostat setting by about 4 with no reduction in comfort! Even simply readjusting your programmable thermostat from its winter settings can help you save up to 10% of your cooling bill.

2012 Trinity UCC Theme Walking, Talking and Living Our Faith, Ephesians 4 (NLT)
January Ephesians 4:1 Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God. February Ephesians 4:2 Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each others faults because of your love. March Ephesians 4:3 Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace. April Ephesians 4:4 For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future. May Ephesians 4:5-6 There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father, who is over all and in all and living through all. June Ephesians 4:7 However, he has given each one of us a special gift through the generosity of Christ. July Ephesians 4:11 Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. August Ephesians 4:12 Their responsibility is to equip Gods people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. September Ephesians 4:13 This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of Gods Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. October Ephesians 4:14 Then we will no longer be immature like children. We wont be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth. November Ephesians 4:15-16 Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love. December Ephesians 31-32 Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.
