He Tu

The order of Xian Tian Ba Gua Xici Zhuan says, "In Change there is the Taiji/Axis/Supreme Polarity. This gives rise to the Two Modes; the Two Modes give rise to the Four Images; the Four Images give rise to the Eight Trigrams." Note: Taiji is usually translated as "Supreme Ultimate" and sometimes as Supreme Pole, Supreme Polarity, Grand Terminus. Shuo Zi (Yong): "Qian 1; Dui 2; Li 3; Zhen 4; Xun 5; Kan 6; Gen 7; Kun 8. Qian, Dui, Li and Zheng are Yang. Xun, Kan, Gen and Kun are Yin. Qian and Dui are Tai Yang. Li and Zhen are Xiao Yin. Xun and Kan are Xiao Yang. Gen and Kun are Tai Yin."

Xian Tian Ba Gua

Shuogua Zhuan: "Heaven and Earth settle on their positions, mountain and an area of water (marsh) interchange their vitality; thunder and wind approach each other; and water and fire do not repel each other. Eight trigrams mutually interlock with each other. Enumerating the past is compliance. Knowing the future is anticipation. Therefore Yi is anticipatory enumeration." Shao Zi (Yong): "Qian South, Kun north, Li East, Kan West, Dui resides South-east, Zhen resides North-east, Xun resides South-west, Gen resides North-west."
