TODAY Welcome to Cedar Church! This morning, we continue Small Group sign-ups for the autumn semester. We will also celebrate the Lords Supper this morning. Wine is placed in the center & middle of the tray and grape juice on the outside ring. Samson: Gods Unlikely Hero Next Sunday morning, we resume our morning sermon series on Judges: Gods Rescue Through Unlikely Heroes with a 4 week series on that famous judge, mighty Samson! Kent County Jail Ministry On Sunday, September 30 , Cedar Church will host our 5th Sunday chapel service at the Kent County Jail from 12:45 PM - 2:15 PM. Please keep this ministry in your prayers. Choir Practice Begins in October! Calling all voices! Please join us at 4 PM every 1st & 3rd Sunday for choir practice beginning in October. The holidays will soon be here and we would love to add your voice to our church choir! Cedar Ensemble will practice every 2nd & 4th Sunday beginning September 23rd. New Nursery Location Due to classroom reconfigurations at HCS, Cedar Church will now host our Sunday nursery in the Library Hall. Please take note of the new location!

ANNOUNCEMENTS Cadet Cookouts & Campouts Cedar Cadets will host a Father/Son kickoff & cook-out next Saturday at the GVRC Campground. Fathers & sons should meet at the school at 3:30 PM. On October 12-13, Cadets will participate in the Chuck Wagon Campout at GVRC campground. Please see Tom Dykema or Jim Knott for info. Requests from Our Deacons Cedar deacons would like to recruit additional volunteers for our audio and sound ministry! Additionally, we are looking for facility openers and closers to make sure the church property is properly opened and closed on Sundays. Please see Deacon Tom Dykema if you are interested. Love Inc. Sorting Warehouse Volunteers Needed - Do you enjoy sorting and organizing items? Do you like meeting new people? If you do, the Love INC Sorting Warehouse is the place for you! We are in need of volunteers half-days Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Training always provided. Please contact Tonia at 616662-3300 ext 122 if interested. Homes Needed For Refugee Teens! There is a pressing need for families who are willing to host refugee teens from Africa and Central America, who, because of violence and persecution have been separated from their families and forced to flee their homes. ANNOUNCEMENTS Hamburger Fry & Open House - Zion Christian Schools annual family picnic will be Friday, September 14, at 6:00pm. All are invited. We will have a hamburger fry sponsored by the senior class. All food, beverage, utensils, etc. will be provided. Proceeds raised will benefit the senior class trip. The evening will also serve as an open house for the elementary grades. You will have the opportunity to walk around the building, see classrooms, and talk with teachers. The Zion Christian Athletic Boosters have two upcoming events. They are holding a scrap metal drive through the end of September. If you have any scrap metal youd like to get rid of, you can drop it off at school on September 14 or 15. If you have too much scrap or no way to haul it, call Bennett Kamps at(616) 457-5439 and he will arrange for those items to be picked up. Also, on Monday, September 17, the Boosters are hosting a hair cutting event. Stop by Zion Christian between 3:30 to 8:30pm, no appointment needed, and get a haircut for $10/head. Zion Christian School Golf Outing - Mark your calendars for our 12th annual Mountaineer Golf Outing at Diamond Springs Golf Course on Saturday, September 22. Registration is at 7:30am with play beginning at 8:00am. Cost is $100 for adults and $75 for students. Cost includes 18 holes of golf, golf cart, and lunch. Caregiver Training - Would you like to develop some strategies to better care for your loved one who has dementia? Evergreen Commons is offering a class at Messiah CRC on Wednesday mornings September 5 through October 10 from 9-11 am. The Bible is sincerely loved, and we hope that you will find it opened up to you in a fresh and faithful manner each Sunday. A NURSERY is available near the entrance of the gymnasium, but children are always welcome in the worship service. COFFEE BREAK After the morning worship, please join us in the foyer for coffee and refreshments. KIDS BREAK After morning worship, all kids (pre-school thru 6th grade) are invited to remain in the gymnasium for snacks and fun songs with Mr. & Mrs. Himebook.
