Doa - CCHB/S 1011

Introduction

Al-doa (prayer) is the brain of Ibadah, and your Lord says: {Call on me, I will answer your prayer, but those who are too arrogant to serve Me will surely enter Hell Abased}

Wisdom of doa

Nothing could reject Qada (Gods sentence/ command) except prayer, and no way of prolong your age/ life except righteousness and a man is surely to be deprived of provision due to sin committed by him.

Method of doa

Hadith from Fadh-dollah ibn Ubaid (r.a.). He said: On one occasion while the prophet SAW was sitting in the mosque, a man came in and prayed, then he straight away proceeded with doa to Allah on finishing the prayer. The prophet SAW reacted towards him by saying: You are rushing, oh man! What you should have done is to take your seat, then proceed with praising Allah for what He deserved or entitled to, follow with salutation upon me, then only invoke to Him. Another man came in after that, he did as how the prophet has said. The prophet SAW reacted towards him by saying: Pray! (Invoke). Your prayer will be answered, Insya Allah. 1

The same we pray for his excellent family members and righteous companions.

((Actions are but by intention and every man shall have but that which he intended. Thus he whose migration3 was for Allah and His Messenger, his migration was for Allah and His Messenger, and he whose migration was to achieve some worldly benefit or to take some woman in marriage, his migration was for that which he migrated.))
It was related by the two Imms of the scholars of Hadith, Ab Abdullah Muhammad ibn Ismil ibn Ibrhm ibn al-Mughra ibn Bardizbah al-Bukhr and Ab l-Husain Muslim ibn al-Hajjj ibn Muslim al-Qushair an-Naisbr, in their two Sahihs, which are the

Hadith - CCHB/S 1011

On the authority of Ab Abdullah an-Numan, the son of Bashr, (may Allah be pleased with them both), who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (may the blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) say:

((That which is lawful is plain, and that which is unlawful is plain, and between the two of them are doubtful matters about which not many people know. Thus he who avoids doubtful matters clears himself in regard to his religion and his honour, but he who falls into doubtful matters falls into that which is unlawful, like the shepherd who pastures around a sanctuary, all but grazing therein. Truly every king has a sanctuary, and truly Allahs sanctuary is His prohibitions. Truly in the body there is a morsel of flesh which, if it be whole, all the body is whole and which, if it be diseased, all of it is diseased. Truly it is the heart))

On the authority of Ab Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (may the blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said:

((Allah the Almighty is good and accepts only that which is good. Allah has commanded the Faithful to do that which he commanded the Messengers, and the Almighty has said: O ye Messengers! Eat of the good things, and do right.6 And Allah the Almighty said: O ye who believe! Eat of the good things wherewith We have provided you.7 Then he mentioned [the case of] a man who, having journeyed far, is disheveled and dusty and who spreads out his hands to the sky [saying]: O Lord! O Lord! while his food is unlawful, his drink unlawful, his clothing unlawful, and he is nourished unlawfully, so how can he be answered!))

Hadith 23
On the authority of Ab Mlik al-Hrith ibn sim al-Ashar (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (may the blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said:

((Purity is half of faith. Al-hamdu lill [Praise be to Allah] fills the scales, and Sub na ll [How far is Allah from every imperfection] fill that which is between heaven and earth. Prayer is light; charity is proof; patience is illumination; and the al-Qur'n is an argument for or against you. Everyone starts his day and is a vendor of his soul, either freeing it or bringing about its ruin.))
