music is such a mysterious tool for our emotions i've always been fascinated with how easily just a melody can move people and so easily orchestrate how we feel music has become elemental for life, as something people can live through, express themselves through ive recently become interested in how this power of music can act as an outlet for troubled youth. music can give these adolescents a way to escape their troubled minds, and personal issues and allow them to express themselves. it can be used as outlet for emotions, a way to share passion, and find happiness

this is one of the best ways to overcome something because everybody loves music - its such an easy tool that can be used to express ourselves and what we love
and it not only helps to promote self condence and self esteem, but also creates friendships and bonds through similar tastes and by collaborating musically.
brand attributes
three words describing this organization include inspiring, enthusiastic and passionate

it will be enthusiastic and positive, providing the audience with hope and assurance of peace through music.
passionate

comparable organizations
although most music therapy exists within a larger therapy center, i was able to nd a just a few therapy organizations that focus solely on music. for example, this organizations mission is to unleash the power of music in order to uplift and heal children in the hospital. their main audience is hospitals themselves, working to promote music therapy within hospitals throughout the country.
competitive advantage
but unlike these other music therapy centers, this is the only one that specializes specically for troubled youth. this organization is also unique in that it....
competitive advantage
provides a much more comfortable environment so they dont feel like they are at a therapeutic center, but instead a homey feeling atmosphere where....
competitive advantage
they can be themselves and express themselves. no other therapy centers have taken this approach or have targeted this type of audience.
key audience
Saturday, September 15, 2012
this organization must work to attract doctors and health pros that care for troubled youth, that way they can condently suggest this as an option of therapy. the target audience for those who would be attending this music therapy center will be adolescents anywhere from 13-20. who are troubled with mood disorders, social problems, personal problems and are interested in exploring music as a way to overcome these troubles. so the branding for this organization will aim to attract and appeal to troubled youth, while convincing health professionals that its benecial.

jaimie has always had a difficult time socializing with others. shes very shy and suffers from social anxiety. jaimies first solution was to isolate herself from others, leading her into depression. through music, jaimie found a way to express herself more freely and now is able to communicate well with those who share similar passions. she loves how easily she can fit words together with a melody to describe her thoughts and feelings.
design inspiration
what ive been looking at as far as inspiration so far includes splashes of color... kind of implying putting color into lives through music. i also like the idea of including photo based imagery to help really capture the emotion and spirit of this unique organization. ive thought about applying loose script or illustrations that would imply freedom and expression. and i like the idea of embodying the comfort and homeyness the therapy center provides, being that its such a unique feature for this type of organization.
brand essence
the overall essence this music therapy center is to be making music and changing lives. changing lives through music.
so in conclusion, i will be branding a music therapy center for troubled youth. this therapy center will provide an escape from their troubled minds through many forms of music and a comfortable atmosphere. music already impacts people everyday through movies, advertising, radio or just personal listening. this music therapy center will take this component that we already cherish and use it to help change lives.
