Installation of the Crysis 2 Co-op mod

Part One: Preparation

1. Download the Co-op mod: http://www.moddb.com/mods/crysis-2-co-op/downloads/crysis-2-co-op-demorelease-fixed

2. Download and extract the Community Dedicated Server Package: http://www.crydev.net/dm_eds/download_detail.php?id=5 Right-click the downloaded folder open the folder via 7-Zip, WinRar, etc. then move the folders content into the root directory of Crysis 2 (...Electronic Arts, Crytek, Crysis 2). Check out whether dedicated.cfg is located in the root directory, Crysis2_CommunityServer-Documentation.pdf is located in the support directory and Crysis2DedicatedServer.exe is located in the bin32 directory.

3. Open dedicated.cfg and type the following: g_gamespy_unique_nick= account name. Your current

g_gamespy_password= password. net_lobby_gamespy_online_port=64200

Stays the way it is.

4. Create the levelrotation.xml in your root directory: Right-click, New, Text document, Open, Save as...: File name: levelrotation.xml, File type: All files. Open the xml file and type respectively copy the following:

Above levelrotation.xml is just meant to be an example. Feel free to experiment!

5. Create a new MyCrysis-Account at http://www.mycrysis.com/ Youve to create a completely new account, which not only implicates that youll need a new user name, but also a new e-mail-address (in case of need youve to create a new e-mail-address). Dont delete your old account! Start Crysis 2 and login with your new account and password respectively your new e-mail-address, then quit again.

6. Open the ports of your router Start, Control panel, search bar in the upper-right corner: type "WindowsFirewall" and click on the result, now left side of the window: click on "Advanced settings", left side of the window: click on "Outgoing rules", right side of the window: (1.) New rule...: 1) Which rule type do you want to create?: Port, 2) Does this rule concern TCP or UDP?: TCP, 3) Does this rule apply to all remote ports or only to particular remote ports?: Particular remote ports: 64000-64100, 4) Which action shall be executed, if a connection fulfils the mentioned conditions?: Allow connection, 5) When will this rule be applied?: Domain (yes), Private (yes) and Public (yes), 6) Name: Crysis 2 Rule 1 (e. g.) (2.) New rule...: 1) Port, 2) UDP, 3) Part. remote ports: 64000-64100, 4) Allow connection, 5) Domain (y.), Private (y.) and Public (y.), 6) Crysis 2 Rule 2 (e. g.) (3.) New rule...: like (2.), but: 3) Part. remote ports: 52264 and 6) Crysis 2 Rule 3 (e. g.) (4.) New rule...: like (2.), but: 3) Part. remote ports: 53835 and 6) Crysis 2 Rule 4 (e. g.) (5.) New rule...: like (2.), but: 3) Part. remote ports: 54155 and 6) Crysis 2 Rule 5 (e. g.)

Part Two: Installation of the Coop-Mod

1. Open the Crysis2CoopDemo folder with an extraction program and move its content into the mod folder of Crysis 2 (...Electronic Arts, Crytek, Crysis 2, Mods).

2. Open the Bin32 folder in the Crysis2CoopDemo folder.

3. Right-click the shortcut Crysis2DedicatedServerCoopDemo Properties "Destination" bar: the path has to accord with the place in which the file Crysis2DedicatedServer.exe is located now just add the following with a gap (!): -mod Crysis2CoopDemo "Execute in..." bar: the path has also to accord with the place, in which the bin32 folder of Crysis 2 is located!

4. Right-click the shortcut Crysis2CoopDemo Properties Destination" bar: the path has to accord with the place in which the file Crysis2.exe is located now just add the following with a gap: -mod Crysis2CoopDemo "Execute in..." bar: the path has to accord with the place, in which the bin32 folder of Crysis 2 is located!

Part Three: Starting the Co-op mod

Start the shortcut Crysis2DedicatedServerCoopDemo a black window will be opened now after everything is done, just type the following into the lower bar: map terminalcoop the map will be loaded now now start the shortcut Crysis2CoopDemo login with your new account now you should find your own server (slightly highlighted) in the window "Join server".

Part Four: Other information

If one of your friends owns a server and youd like to join, you either use the shortcut CrysisCoopDemo or the Crysis 2 Coop Launcher.exe ("Launch Crysis 2 Co-op (32-bit)") . As soon as youre logged in, your friends server should be findable in the list of available servers. If this is not the case, just type your friends IP-address into the window "Connect with IP-address".

Part Five: Miscellaneous

1. Due to the fact that I dont own an English version of Windows and its officially not possible to change the standard language to another in Windows 7 Home Premium, I had to translate everything in English. Thats why there could be some differences between both languages (German/English).
