13 September 2012 Dear Head of School,/Head of Geography, RE: The Great Environment Debate 2012, Friday 9th November 2012, 10 AM 2.30 PM We invite sixth form students in and around the Bristol area currently studying geography to our exciting interactive workshop dedicated to the issue of climate change, to be held at Bristol Universitys Great Hall, Wills Memorial Building, Queens Road, Clifton, Bristol BS8 1RJ. Accessible, engaging talks on climate change related topics will be given by experts from Bristol Universitys major new environmental research institute, the Cabot Institute, who will showcase some of the exciting research currently being conducted at the University, and the issues and challenges for tackling climate change that lie ahead for individuals, communities and government. Students will also discuss and debate the issues raised during the seminar sessions. Each group will be facilitated (but not directed) by one of our experts and will feedback the issues and potential actions in a presentation for the general audience using visualizations. This is a high profile event supported by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). A full programme is attached. Lunch will be provided and school travel costs reimbursed. Please contact Dr Chris Deeming by 5th October 2012 to register for this event. Yours sincerely,
