New Hope Church and the Bicentennial Committee wishes to thank everyone for being here last Sunday th for the 200 Anniversary of New Hope. You helped us make Back to Our Future a joyous and memorable event in the history of our church which many people will never forget. With very few exceptions, almost all members and regular attenders were present for at least part of the days activities. The crowd probably totaled around 200 for the whole day an appropriate number! Special thanks go to those who planned, coordinated, staged, cleaned up and otherwise made this event happen, which was a LOT of folks. We wont start naming names for fear of leaving someone out! Now...lets all get to work on the next 200 years of serving our Lord; theres much still to be done!

Ministries/Activities Within Our Church

New Hope Choir (Starts Practicing TONIGHT at 6:00) Led by Ben, the New Hope choir is more than just a choir. It is a small group that meets on Sunday evenings to, yes, practice some songs, but also to fellowship, express concerns, reflect on a devotional together and pray for one another. Those in the choir are blessed to be in it together. Join the choir and find out why! They meet every Sunday evening at 6:00. th The 200 Anniversary Committee needs to have a post-celebration wrap-up meeting this Wednesday evening at 6:00 to discuss what to do with displays, artifacts, etc. Will last about an hour is all. Items for the Time Capsule are still being taken. We will bury it within a few weeks and dont have much room in it, but would still like you to bring something to include that has something to do with the year 2012. Stephen Ministry is a program that selects and trains laypeople for Christian care giving. Stephen Ministers in our church are certified and trained to help people go through the many transitions and challenges in life. Our Stephen Ministers serve anyone in need, both within and

Thought for the Week

obert Fulghum wrote in the Kansas City Times, "Most of what I really need to know about how to live, and what to do, and how to be, I learned in kindergarten. Wisdom was not at the top of the graduate school mountain, but there in the sandbox at nursery school. "These are the things I learned: Share everything. Play fair. Don't hit people. Put things back where you found them. Clean up your own mess. Don't take things that aren't yours. Say you're sorry when you hurt somebody . . . When you go out into the world, watch for traffic, hold hands, and stick together." This writer has captured part of what Jesus meant when he said, "Unless you become like little children, you won't enter the kingdom of heaven."
