The name of the business will be Thompsons cattle goat ranch. It is owned and operated by one person, others may be employed. owner will bear all the risks associated with the starting and operating of business. The entrepreneur is responsible for finding the business also sou for the financing of the business.

Nature of Business Thompsons cattle and goat ranch engages in the rearing of hybrid meat goats and cows. To supply both meat demands. It operates in a secondary industry which aim s to anticipate consumers demand in the order that the right quality products are produced. The proprietor of Thompsons cow and goat ranch chooses to commence this b usiness in an effort to make a profit, to become self-sufficient and to build a good image which secures prestige in the business world. Thompsons cow and goat ranch markets their products to, wholesalers and consumers nationwide.

Objectives The aim of the business will be to produce and manufacture cow (beef) and goat m eat (mutton) at the highest quality. Our products will be sold at affordable pri ces. All customers complaint will be dealt with promptly as our customers will be our number one priority. Only second to the provision of excellent quality.

Justification of location This business will be located at 32 Robert pen in Clarendon. The location was s elected for the following reasons. It possesses the entire necessary proper infr

astructure in place (light, water). Its a peaceful community surrounded by a well secure area. The area chosen is also positioned at a relatively close distance to the town yet it is also the perfect distance away from the residential areas around and lessens the effects off any unpleasant odours that might be given off .

Selection of appropriate labour Type of labour necessary The following types of labour will be required are: skilled, unskilled and profe ssionals. The field number of employees will be ten persons (17). Employees functions and duties Professional (Vet) To monitor and maintain health of animals. To Protect animals from being exposed to diseases . Levels of production This type of business uses domestic production. The goods will be produced local ly this means in the home country. Both human and natural resources are employed and the whole economy is dependent upon what it produces from these resources.

Quality control measures Customers complaints and suggestion will be our first priority. To ensure that raw material sold must be at the highest and safest quality.

Technology will help to increase the efficiency of the operations of Thompsons ca ttle and goat ranch and thus reducing labor intensive cost. The inventory control system keeps track of every item in the inventory, ensuring that they do not run out of feed or order too much. Potential for Growth Internal growth Thompsons cattle and goat ranch will be employing 10 additional workers in a time space of 4-5 years. A wider variety of goods will be supplied. As the company w ill be venturing in the chicken business. A technological advancement will be ne cessary if the business will want to be able to keep up the supply for the deman ds of their products. External growth

An additional 2 branches will be opened over the island. They will be located in the parishes of Kingston and St. Catherine. A work load of 17 employees to each branch will be necessary for the efficient running of these branches. Eventuall y Thompsons cattle and goat ranch will venture in the surplus level of production to get started in the exportation of goods. The products will be exported to co untries such as South Australia and Barbados. These countries like many other in the world as a high demand for cattle and goat meat. Which is not being supplie d on a large enough scale for the people of those countries.

Government Regulations The business will make sure that the regulation set by the government wi ll be followed. The payment of all taxes will be done, the business will ensure that product meets international standards and also see to it that no employee i s being paid below minimum wage. Also the business will be legally licenses by t he buerra of standards. Impact of government regulations By paying taxes assistance will be given to the government to improve essential factors such as the transport sector. It also assists the government in providin g more incentives which in return will better the business. More revenues for jo bs will be provided helping to stabilize our economy.
