DESCRIPTION / OBJECTIVES This part of the course aims at providing the students with basic principle of language evaluation and the development of language assessment system. CONTENTS The topics included: (1) Test, measurement, assessment and evaluation, (2)Kinds of test (3) Approaches and Current Issues to Language Testing (4) reliability of test, (5) validity of test (6) item analysis, (7) Assessing listening (8) Assessing speaking, (9) assessing reading (10) assessing writing, and (11) Alternative in assessment ACTIVITIES Explanation, class and group discussion, presentation and individual works. Activities are oriented to the understanding of basic principle of language evaluation and the development of language assessment system. ASSESSMENT Students will be assesed on the basis of the following components: Regular attendance and participation in classroom task (10%), peer assessment (10%) the ability to do assignments and presentation (30%), middle test (20%) and final project (30%).
