Design reference points and z ones seat reference points, arm rotation points, eye reference points or zones, visua l envelopes, and mobility or comfort adjustment ranges.

Current situation about ergonomics in design Seats are too deep - forces people either to sit at the front edge of the seat a nd slouch or sit with their feet sticking out. Solution for this would be to des ign a seat depth which is suitable for short users, or to offer different seat d epths. Seat heights are too low or too high - designers must decide on their int ended user population and use the appropriate seat height and slope. Angle of th e backrest and the height of the backrest is not suitable for the purpose - solu tion would be to design high back chairs with a neck cushion, the position of wh ich can be adjusted to suit the user.
