WHAT TO DO IF YOU ARE A RAPE VICTIM

STEP 1
Get immediate assistance from the nearest police or barangay to arrest the offender (Humingi kaagad ng tulong sa pinakamalapit na pulisya o barangay para maaresto ang may sala)

STEP 2

Get Referral Letter for medico-legal exam at police station nearest to the crime scene (Kumuha ng Referral Letter para sa medico-legal sa istasyon ng pulis na malapit sa pinangyarihan ng krimen)

STEP 3

Get immediate medico-legal exam at Camp Crame Crime Laboratory where they conduct free DNA tests (Kagyat na kumuha ng medico-legal sa Camp Crame Laboratory kung saan nagbibigay sila ng libreng DNA tests) Important for medico-legal exam: (Importante para sa medico-legal exam): Get your exam immediately or within three days (Kagyat na kumuha ng exam pagkatapos ng krimen o sa loob ng tatlong araw) Avoid bathing, brushing teeth and mouth rinsing, douching, urinating and washing until after the examination (Iwasang maligo, magsepilyo at magmumog, umihi, at maghugas hanggang matapos ang eksaminasyon) Collect clothing used during the incident and other evidence; air dry and place in paper envelope (Kolektahin ang mga ginamit na damit sa insidente at iba pang mga ebidensya; patuyuin ito sa hangin at ilagay sa paper envelope)

Collect blood and urine samples to test for drug and alcohol intake (Kolektahin ang samples ng dugo at ihi para ma-test kung may paggamit ng gamot (drug) at alkohol) Note: no evident injury at the time of examination does not exclude sexual abuse (Tandaan: kung walang ebidensya ng pinsala ay hindi ibig sabihin na walang sekswal na pang-aabuso)

STEP 4

Get copy of your Complaint-Affidavit (Sinumpaang Salaysay) for violation of the Anti-Rape Law (RA 8353) at the police station nearest to the crime scene (Kumuha ng inyong Sinumpaang Salaysay para sa paglabag sa Anti-Rape Law (RA 8353) sa pinakamalapit na istasyon ng pulis na malapit sa pinangyarihan ng krimen)

STEP 5

File your criminal complaint (Complaint-Affidavit/Sinumpaang Salaysay) with the Prosecutors Office nearest to the crime scene (Isampa ang inyong criminal complaint sa pinakamalapit na Prosecutors Office na pinakamalapit sa pinangyarihan ng krimen)

STEP 6

Get counseling and counseling/psychological evaluation report from: (Kumuha ng counseling/psychological report mula sa:) Womens Crisis Center, East Ave. Medical Center UP-PGH Womens Desk UP-PGH Child Protection Unit National Center for Mental Health if victim is mentally challenged
