MAJOR ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES (This is a JD for the logistics executive as a Management trainee, the incumbent will be closely working with the brewery personnel on this area, to be able to pick up salient features of the job. The MT will be required to work on small/long-term projects that help him/her get exposure to the various facets as described below) The Logistics Executive is responsible for the logistics, warehousing and distribution activities of the factory. To develop and maintain effective and efficient (agile) supply chain (in full on time) and deliver benchmark results (highest quality against lowest cost) for the company, including those in the market place and the dealers. To monitor and control FG stock levels to prevent out of stock situation. To manage a team of 8-12 logistics personnel, warehouses and handling equipment so as to achieve an effective balance on Man, Machine, Materials, Measurement and Methods. To plan, monitor and control distribution of all finished products. To set department & organization direction and standards To direct and coordinate with internal & external customers for achieving the lowest possible cost and maximum customer service. To develop a highly motivated, multi skilled, flexible workforce working in teams with good performance ethics. Should have fair understanding of the dynamic of freight market. Should be in position collect necessary inputs from the freight markets like prevailing market/freight broker cost, seasonality impact against a certain period, identifying potential transporters for negotiation process. Should be in position to prepare RFQ for freight negotiation & should have exposure on reverse auction for freight buying. To ensure compliance with ISO, HACCP quality management systems and Food Safety And Standards Act. To ensure compliance with housekeeping and safety procedures according to good material handling practices. To maintain, review and implement specified administration, Logistics procedures and instructions To assist and advice the Unit Head in setting and updating department targets / objectives / plans & activities. To meet performance targets as agreed in teams KPI system. To review daily reports, operations and initiate appropriate / suitable action to prevent occurrence of non-delivery and stock shortage To maximize operational running time of assets against lowest possible cost and minimum allocation and / or losses of company assets [packaging returnable]. To carry out re-engineering of supply chain processes to promote continuous improvement and innovation To set targets and improve on logistics operational efficiency and effectiveness. To study, compile and propose work improvement measures on projects quality, work performance and cost savings. To signal areas for improvement and initiate the procedural improvements and additions. To assist on improvement activities to enhance customer service to customers and consumers. To carry budgeting for the Logistics Department, and to monitor the spending against budget against Freight, Handling charges, Breakages. Also in a position to analysis the vehicle mix & optimization of vehicle mix.

 He must have a good exposure to manage all state Excise related matters, documentation, monthly returns. And should be able to ensure smooth dispatches without any hassles from state excise department.
