ENERGIZERS
All Stinger energizers use identical charger boards, energizer boards and HT transformers to facilitate repairs. The energizer board has an on-board safety watchdog, which switches the energizer off in the event of a too high output energy (>5% above 8 Joule) or in the event of a pulse repetition rate < 1 second .

BS100 ENERGIZER
The BS100 Energizer has been primarily developed for the agricultural market. The unit can be powered by any 12V source. E.g. car battery + solar panel. It is intended to merely power a fence without monitoring. Features Non polarized power input Multiple units in one fence section can be set to master or slave triggering.

BS101 ENERGIZER
The BS101 Energizer has been developed for the agricultural and for the urban environment. The BS101 is a stand alone unit. Features High/Low voltage setting Live return wire is not required, because an end of line resistor terminates the live wire at the end of the fence. It is thus impossible to bypass the monitor system by short circuiting the live and return wire. Battery back up in case of power failure. Siren- and strobe outputs. Gate input and gate tamper alarm. External HT High/Low input Independent wire-short and wire-cut indication. LED fault indicators.

BS102 ENERGIZER
The BS102 Energizer is a two zone system and has been developed for the urban high security environment. The BS102 can be used as stand alone unit or in a networked system with multiple BS102 units. Features High/Low voltage setting Live return wire is not required, because an end of line resistor terminates the live wire at the end of the fence. It is thus impossible to bypass the monitor system by short circuiting the live and return wire. Battery back up in case of power failure. 2 X Siren- and 2 X Strobe outputs. Gate input and gate tamper alarm. External HT High/Low input Independent wire-short and wire-cut indication. RS 485 port. External display/control unit. Separate fence current monitors for High and Low voltage mode and for each zone. Earth loop monitor for each zone. Data storage facility for 100 events (FIFO). BS120 ENERGIZER
The BS120 Energizer is a 20 zone system and has been developed for the urban and industrial high security environment. The BS120 can be used as stand alone unit or in a networked system with multiple BS120 units. Features High/Low voltage setting Energizer feeds the fence from both ends. It is thus impossible to bypass the monitor system by short circuiting the live and return wire. Battery back up in case of power failure. Siren- and Strobe outputs. Gate input and gate tamper alarm. External HT High/Low input Independent wire-short and wire-cut indication. RS 485 port. External display/control unit. Patented fence current monitor system. Data storage facility for 100 events (FIFO). Password protection for user and installer menu. Internal- or external trigger mode for multiple energizers in one system. Master or slave operation. Multiple energizers can be used in one fence section (Triggered operation). Up to 127 BS120 units can be controlled by the Stinger software program.

ENERGIZER COMPATIBILITY WITh VARIOUS FENCE WIRES

The Stinger specification, which has also been adopted by ESKOM, prescribes a minimum available energy level at any fence of 5 Joule, for maximum deterrence effect. The table shows the maximum wire length for each type of wire and for each type of Stinger energizer, to achieve this minimum required energy level. The BS120 Energizer feeds the wire from both ends and can consequently drive a much longer length of wire, as compared with any other energizer.

COMMUNICATION DEVICES
The BS019 is a double loop media converter, suitable for multimode fiber optic cable. Features The dual loop function is important to assure communication even if one fiber gets damaged or cut. RS485 and RS232 input/ output. 12V power input. Can also be used with the BS102 Energizer The BS120RELAY is a serial to parallel converter for the BS120 energizer. Features All zone outputs and system control outputs are available as potential free relay contacts. RS485 input/output. 12V power input. Outputs can be used for driving LEDs, select cameras, interface to SKADA system etc The BS120RXTX is a data transceiver, especially developed for the Stinger systems. Customers can receive alarms from Stinger energizers via the cell phone network. Different to existing sms modems, the Stinger modem interfaces directly with the RS485 communication bus and can be built into new and existing the BS102/BS120 Remote Control Units. The message displayed at the phone screen is identical to the one displayed at the screen on the remote control unit. Up to 20 user tel numbers can be programmed, while each user can receive individual messages. An energizer alarm can be reset via a call from one of the stored telephone numbers.

MEDIA CONVERTER FOR ShORT DISTANCES

The purpose of this media converter is to cover distances up to 250 meters between a display unit/ computer and a field device (e.g. Energizer). A1 mm dual plastic fibre is used, this unit will minimize the damage due to lightning and ground loop problems. The unit is electrically connected to the RS485 data bus at the energizers, control unit and computer interface.

STINGER SMS MODEM

DETECTION SYSTEMS
The CDS (Climb Detection System) has been developed to complement electric fencing. By using this system, a tamper alarm will be already received when an intruder starts tampering with the fence wiring. This increases the reaction time. Features A fence wire is used to take power and communication signals to the CDS detection unit. One CDS pole can detect tampering on between 1 and 24 fence wires with a length of 100 meters. Up to 127 addresses are available via the stinger program and 13 via a single remote control unit. Units are fully programmable via PC or remote control unit. Systems can be integrated with BS102 or BS120 Energizers on the Stinger Software program. CDS system can be used on free standing, wall top fences, and non-energized fence wires which are used to protect palisade fences.

SOFTWARE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

With the the Stinger management software it is possible to build a fully integrated system, comprising BS102, BS120 energizers, CDS detectors and gate contact outputs. Features Can control up to 127 addresses. Communication via RS485 output and cable, data radio or Fibre optic media converter to field units. Data logging facility for alarms logs, program logs and user logs. Port available for external GSM unit. SMS messaging with exact description of alarms or maintenance problems to multiple cell phones. Parameters and addresses of all field units can be changed via the program. Can store up to 125 different site maps in case of a multiple site system. Communication via GPRS modem possible, to download log files or change program settings remotely.
