October 24, 2012 RE: FILMMAKERS NOTIFICATION - UNA-USA, GREATER CHICAGO CHAPTER GLOBAL WAKE-UP FESTIVAL OF FILM, LITERATURE AND CREATIVE ARTS Dear Filmmaker: Thank you for submitting your film project to UNA-USA Greater Chicago Chapters GLOBAL WAKE-UP Film Festival. We received more submissions than our space would allow, the selection process was rigorous and difficult given the numerous talented filmmakers who submitted their works. After a final review, GLOBAL WAKE-UP, has made their official selections of those films that will grace the screen. Your Project is one of the Official Selections for the UNA Global Wake-Up 2012. CONGRATULATIONS! You are indeed a Changemaker! GLOBAL WAKE-UPs second annual film festival, running from November 30December 1, 2012, promises to be a huge success this year. Supported by a talented jury comprised of award winning filmmakers, writers, and activist, GLOBAL WAKE-UP is dedicated to showcasing the edgiest domestic and international movies and their filmmakers. The venue for this event is Columbia College Chicago Film Row Cinema 8th Floor, Chicago, Illinois 1104 S. Wabash. This year the festival will continue to feature exciting films from around the world that connect with Human Rights, Women and Child issues and of course, the Millennium Development Goals. All official selection recipients will receive a certificated Official Selection Laurel and where appropriate a separate award and laurel for any jury awards in the various categories. Additionally, we extend an invitation to you to attend our Benefit Reception and Award Ceremony on Friday, November 30, 2012 from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm at Columbia College Chicago. All official selection filmmakers are entitled to receive 1 FREE ticket! Please reply via email to RSVP. This red carpet, star-studded event is complete with tasty libations, heavy hors doeuvres, music and entertainment, photo ops, and networking opportunities with industry professionals and noted officials that embrace the spirit of being a changemaker for this event. Filmmakers should make themselves available for any press/publicity opportunities during this event. A FEW HOUSEKEEPING NOTES It is the responsibility of the filmmaker to ensure that a DVD in the correct format (Region 1 or PAL, DVD BluRay Dvcam Beta and Digibeta) has been sent to UNA Global Wake-Up for testing prior to the screening. Additionally, we invite you to submit an excerpt of your film for inclusion in the Global Wake-Up Film Festival awards ceremony video which screens during the Benefit Reception and Award Ceremony. The film excerpt or trailer must be received no later than end of day on November 16, 2012. The excerpt should have a total runtime of between :30 and 2:00 (thirty seconds to two minutes), and be in the following file format: QuickTime movie file h.264 codec

FOR HIGH DEFINITION FILMS: 1280x720 @ 24p (23.98) or 30p (29.97) FOR STANDARD DEFINITION FILMS: 720x480 @ 24p (23.98) or 30p (29.97) Audio: 48kHz 16-bit LinearPCM preferred (WAV and AIF are also acceptable) For Documentary films, filmmakers also need to submit the name of the film's Director, as they wish that name to appear on screen for the award ceremony video. For Narrative Feature films and Narrative Short films, please submit the name of the film's Director, as well as the name(s) of the principal actors and actresses. Please make sure that your DVD copy is available and ready for screening, that no watermarks are visible, and that any photos and press materials are available online or have already been received.
