Dear Friends,
No, thanks, I have enough stuff! Thats what I say when asked what I want for Christmas. The gift you and I already have is that God goes with you and me wherever we go! The Christ is in every one of us. The question is Are you truly aware of this Oneness; are you ready to show up as the Beingthe Divinethat Self you are? Will you accept the Invitation to Birth a New Humanity? During the 2012 Unity Peoples Convention, Barbara Marx Hubbard keynote speaker, asked this question. Are you and I here at Unity By the Shore passionate about conscious evolution?
December 22, 2012, is a focal point for the media to say something is ending. And, yes, we want something to be ending. As Rev. Michael Beckwith says, We are not trying to hold onto the world the way it is. Let us question ourselves, each one, as to where is my consciousness in this dramatic moment of choice? Will we evolve by choice or by chance? Our commitment here at UBTS is CHOICE! Within Unity is a radical faith that we can do the works Jesus did and greater works. And, we share a common vision with UnityWorldWideMinistries a world that works for all! It is very clear to me that Unity By The Shore has been, and is, in a process of evolution. In so many ways, I see the many signs of the rise of empathy, spirituality, and creativity. We work our Core Values and Spiritual Principles, and on that Path we are helping to create A New Vision for Humanity! What greater Gift can we give to all Mankind! With Love and Gratitude, Rev. Joanne Note: UBTS is willing to be pulled by this global vision and will join the Unity WorldWide Ministries in this evolutionary leap on December 22, 2012. The Plan will be announced shortly, but for now put it on your calendars!

s of October 7, 2012, our Building Fund totals a little more than $10,900.
Gwen Lewis's imagination and initiative is one reason that we have reached this gratifying sum. It was Gwen who thought of, and built, the miniature house that stands just outside the sanctuary doors (to the left as you face them). She introduced her handiwork at our January, 2012, congregational meeting, explaining that it provided us with a way to donate the change in our wallets or pockets. Small-amount gifts of coins in our possession (checks and bills are equally welcome, of course) have mounted up over the past eight months helping us to save at an accelerating rate. When we paid off our mortgage in 2010 the Board voted to set up the Building Fund, depositing into it monthly the $300 that had formerly been our mortgage payment. The Board also voted to put 10% of the net amount we realized from every one of our fund raisers into the Building Fund. These policies are still in effect. Each time you're at Unity, consider putting your loose change into our unique piggy bank as a useful way to put your cash to work for a good cause.
he popularity of last year's holiday Bazaar persuaded the Board to schedule the same event again for this year, to be held on: - Sunday, December 2 - Sunday, December 9 - Sunday, December 16 - Wednesday, December 19 - Sunday, December 23 On Sundays, the display tables will be set up at the back of the sanctuary after the service, with the merchandise available between noon and 1:30 p.m. On Wednesday, the Bazaar will run from 1 p.m. to 2: 30 p.m. in the foyer of the building. The beautiful, unique wares that will be offered are all made by local artisans in African, South American, and southeast Asian countries. Each craftsperson is paid an income that enables her/him to live comfortably within their society. Therefore, their products are labeled Fair Trade merchandise. Many items carry labels giving brief descriptions of their makers. Come and join us for some fun holiday shopping.
Birthday Blessings

s philosopher and mythologist, Joseph Campbell said, Our true happiness comes from finding our bliss. Lois has found her bliss here at Unity by the Shore. As Lois said, If I dont go to church I feel I have lost something. I love Unity, I love Rev. Joanne and this church. And because of her love Lois believes in giving to the church. She does this as a volunteer. Her way of giving is with hospitality. Lois can be seen in or around the kitchen and the hospitality table on Sundays because she heads the Hospitality Committee. She worked for years with Rose Birch, the former chair of hospitality. Lois gives high praise to the volunteers who help her each Sunday. She is also delighted with the work of the men in church who volunteer in any month that includes a fifth Sunday. The men do a great job. I never have to help or worry when they have kitchen duty, sums up her praise for the men who volunteer. Before taking over the hospitality post, Lois volunteered as an Usher and worked with Ruth Kruse, who headed the committee. I enjoyed that work, but hospitality is great, she said. Lois moved to Toms River from Queens, N.Y. with her late husband, who died in 1999. She grew up a Seventh Day Adventist, but when she moved to this area she became interested in Unity. She found and joined a Unity Church in Asbury Park. She has been involved with the church family ever since. I have seen people come and go here. Lois has been a member during the tenure of five ministers. Looking back she notes, I remember when Barbara Ely and others would give the guest sermons. It was very much family. And it still is, she said with a smile. As Lois reflected on the many good church related experiences she has had, she mentioned her Prayer Chaplain, Margaret Schoendienst, whom she praised for her support, Bob Ermatinger, a church member who often would give her a ride to church, Jean Graham, who helps keep the kitchen in order and Rev. Joanne, whom she just loves. She also noted there are other church members who are always there for her. Unity by the Shore is a home away from home for me. I just love it here.
t long last, our CD Share the Dream is in the final stages of completion. So much love has gone into this project! We have been blessed every step of the way, from the donation that made it possible, to the planning meetings, rehearsals, recording sessions, editing, mixing, mastering, the art created for the cover, and the graphic design of the liner notes. Share the Dream has 15 tracks of inspirational music, much of it written by our very own Unity musicians. There is something for everyone, with many styles of music represented. Stay tuned for the date of our CD release party, and please consider buying copies of Share the Dream as holiday gifts. The CDs will be sold for $15 each, and virtually ALL the proceeds will go to Unity by the Shore. I know what every single one of my family and friends are getting for Christmas this year!!! Love, gratitude and abundant blessings, Laura DuBois
