IMPORTANT POINTS TO REI\,4EMBER:

Always, turn on your transmitter first before turning on your vehicle's rece ver switch. When turning an R/C ve h icle off, the order is just the o p posite; Turn the receiver switch off first and then tu rn the transm itter off. Just remember that when your tru ck is tu rn ed ON, your transmitter shou ld always be turned ON. lf not, '1108S will no lon g er be under the control of your transmitter, and could unexpectedly take off on its own, causing damage to itself and other people.

Never use old, worn out batteries in your transmitter or truck. Use only fresh a lka lin e batteries or charged rechargeable batteries to ensure that you will not exceed the range of your radio system while d rivin g your truck. lt is also very important to stop your truck im med iately when you begin to see that it is slowing down. This means the batteries in your truck are close to be ing fully d ischa rged, and if you contin u e to run you r tru ck after it has slowed, it may run "out of co ntro l" since it does not have sufficient voltage left to receive the sig na ls from your transmitter. Only run you r 110BS in safe, ope n areas th at will not put anyth in g or anyone in danger of a collision. Use common sense when driving your truck to ensure that you will not cause potentia hazard to anyone (crowds of people and confined areas should be avo id ed ). Although 1108S is small and l!ghtweight, it can still hurt when it runs into you at ankle height. lt can also startle someone who is not expecting it, so it is extremely important to ALWAYS keep a safe distance between any peo p le and the path of your tru ck (d o n't forget th is includes yourself)l

Never run your 1108S through p udd les, wet g rass, snow or any other type of moistu re. Also never use any liq u id clea n e rs around the electron ic components on your ve h icle. Any small amount of moisture can cause several damage to your electronics.

lf you will be running your 1'l0BS with other R/C vehicles, always confirm before tu rn ing your m itter on, th at no one else is using you r same freq ue ncy channel. lf n ece ss a ry, you may change frequencies(Certainly this is not related to 2.4G transmitter.)

Always let your motor and battery cool down completely between runs. The motor needs to cool completely at the end of charging before u sing aga in. Heat is a big enemy of electric motors. Over heating the motor will shorten its life and can cause it to fail. Prolonged running on high d rag surfaces like grass, carpet etc. can heat the motor up and cause possible failure.
WHAT ELSE lS NEEDED: 8 "AA" alkaline batteries (for the radio

transmitter)
GETTING STARTED 1, INSTALLING TRANSI\4ITTER BATTERIES

lnstall 8 new "AA" batteries into your vehicle transmitter. Check the life and proper installation of your batteries by switching the transmitter 4> to on. On vehicle transmitters, you should see allthree LED's light up (red, yellow, and g reen ). lf you do not, your batteries may be low on voltage or you may not have installed them allcorrectly. As the life of yourtransmitter batteries begins to decline, the green LED will no longer lig ht. When you notice that you are down to only the yel ow and red lig hts, th is is a caution sign that it is time to install new batteries. lf you continue operating your Blade. and see that the yellow lig ht goes out (and only the red lig ht is lit), STO P lM l\,1E D IATE LYI You r veh icle may easily travel out of range causing you to lose all control, which could resu t in a co llis ion ca u sing damage to the ve h icle or other property.
2. CHARGING YOUR VEHICLE

Charge your 1108S battery pack. Connect the charger to your battery pack (lt will only plug in one direction)and then plug the charger into a standard wall outlet. Charging takes approximately 3-4 hours. When the battery is charged unplug the charger and connect the b atte ry to you r s peed control's battery plug. Your ve h icle charger will safely ch a rge your ba tte ry pack and not over charge it. Be carefulwhen using after market chargers that you do not overcharge the battery pa ck and ruin it.

LIN G TH E ANTE N NA

Locate the plastic antenna tube (found inside the styrofoam carton just above the tou ring ). Also locate the black antenna wire coming out the front of your receiver case.
Run the antenna wire up through the rear antenna mount hole in the upper chassis plate and begin feeding it into the plastic antenna tube u ntil it comes out the other side. Pull the remaining wire through the tube, and then press the tube into the antenna mount in the upper chassis plate. Bend the antenna wire down around the tube and installthe black rubber antenna cap on the top of the tube. You may then wrap the remaining wire around the

tube.
DO NOT cut the anten na wire off! This cou ld shorten the range of you r radio system. 4. LEARNING THE TRANSMITTER

Before tu rn ing on your vehicle, please familiarize yourself with the controls and adjustments of the radio transmitter. You may use the following diagram to confirm the location and function of each of these featu res.
A - ON/OFF Switch: Controls power to the transmitter.
B - Steering Wheel: Steers the ve h icle left and rig ht. C - Throttle Trigger: Controls the speed and the

forward/reverse direction of the vehicle. D - Throttle Trim:Adjusts the neutral position of the throttle so your truck responds correctly to the trigger. E - Steering Trim:Adjusts the center position of the steering so Your truck travels stra ig ht. F - Throttle Reverse Switch: Reverses the forward/Reverse direction of your throttle trigger. G - Steerlng Reverse Switch: Reverses the left/right direction of the steering wheel. H - Antenna: Transmits radio signals to your receiver. | - Frequency Crystal: Controls the operating frequency (channel) of your transmitter. J - Battery Power lndicators: Signal when it is time to replace your transmitter batteries.

Please familiarize yourself with the function of the steering and throttle controls as shown directly to the right. U nlike most other pistol grip style radio systems, the reverse function of the 1188 differs in that pu sh ing up on the throttle trigger, only a pplies the brakes (with no worry of the truck suddenly slamming into reverse).

the 'l10BS into reverse you must push up on the throttle trigger a 2nd time. The 1108S electronic speed control (ESC) was designed with this function to h elp prevent from accidentally jamming the vehicle from full forward speed into reverse (which could cause damage to the gearboxes).

Before turning on your vehicle, please familiarize yourself with the controls and adjustments of the radio transmitter. You may use the following diagram to confirm the location and function of each of these features.

A. ON/OFF Switch: Controls power to the transmitter.

B. Steering Wheel: Steering the vehicle left and right. C. Throttle Trigger: Contols lhe speed and the Forward/Reverse direction of the vehicle. D. Throttle Trim: Ajusts the neutral position of the throttle so your vehicle responds correctly to the trigger. E. Steering Trim: Adjusts the neutral position of the throttle so your vehicle travels straight. F. Throttle Reverse Switch: Reverses the forward/reverse direction of the steering wheel. G. Steering Reverse Switch: Reverse the lefuright direction of steering wheel. H. Antenna: Transmits radio signals to your receiven l. Recharging Jack: you can charge the battery with your charger if you are using rechargeable batteries in your transmitter. Caution: You can not recharge Non-rechargeable batteries. J. Battery Power lndicators: Signal when it is time to replace your transmitter batteries when the red indicator lit. K. Steering Knob: Adjusts the steering angle L. Frequency Crystal: Controls the operating freqency(channel) of your transmitter.

5. RUNNING MULTIPLE VEHICLE

lf you have some vehicles that would like to get a vehicle of their own or already have

friends with other vehicles that you will be racing, it is very important that you first check what frequency channe your vehicle is on and confirm that none of your friends have the same frequency as you. For new vehicle(which still have the factory installed frequency crystals),you can simply use the chart on the right to quickly identify which frequency channel in your Devil. lf you do find that someone else is using the same frequency channel that you are, you must wait for them to turn their transmitter and vehicle OFF or you may choose to change the frequency crystals in your transmitter and receiver (so that you can run together at the same time without causing any radio interference). Additional frequency cystal sets can be purchased separately and installed in a few quick seconds.
To change frequency crystals simply remove the black plastic

crystal holder from the back of your transmitter by carefully pulling it straight out. Slide the crystal out of the holder and install the new crystal labeled "T" in its place. Then carefully align the two pins that extend from the crystal with the socket in the back of your transmitter, and gently press it into place. DO NOT force the crystal! The pins can easily be broken! Remove the crystal from your receiver in the same careful manner using a pair of needle-nose pliers and install the new "R" crystal in its place. PLEASE NOTE: lt is very important that the crystal labeled "T" is installed in the transmitter and the crystal marked "R" is installed in the receiver.

Switch on the transmitter. Turn on the receiver power(you can choose any channer), prug thejumper into .B|ND/BATT,, of receiver. when the indicator starts flashing, thatmeansthe reciiver coms inio the set cooe mode. Atthis point, pull outthe jumper immediately. The receiver can automatically find the nearest transmitter to match with. once they match successfully, the indicator wourd keep righting(at this momenl prease prug the jumper into "B'ND/BAiT,, again.) no irln indicator flashes continuously, that means they haven,t-matced successfully.

6. LET THE FUN BEGIN!

After reading all of the above information, you are likely ready to start racing! Just proceed as follows: A. Fully extend the antenna on your transmitter.
B. Turn your transmitter on. C. Turn your vehicle on.

D Adjust the "ThrcftreTrim" knob on your transmitter if necessary(if the wheers are moving forward without touching the trigger, turn the throtfle trim counter clockwise uniiit tne wneet" stop1.

PLEASE NOTE:
lf you do not have any "reverse" when pusing the trigger forward twice, adjust the throttle trim further in the counter clockwise direction. If you pull the trigger all the way back to forward full speed and your car stops, then adjust the throttle trim in the clockwise direction . But be careful not to go too far or your vehicle may not be able to reach full speed when pulling the trigger all the way back. E. Adjust the "Steering Trim" knob on your transmitter if necessary( so your car will travel in a straigth line without turning the steering wheel.) F. By now you are likely kicking up dust or burning up the asphalt. We highly recommend that you

continue reading the reminder of this manual to find out how you can get even more enjoyment out of your vehicle.

A Special lnstructions About Batteries

Contents:
1. Keep batteries/storage batteries out of reach of children. 2. Do not let batteries lie around openly, There is a risk of batteries being swallowed by children or pets.

ln such case, seek instant medical care! 3. Batteries/Rechargeable batteries must never be short-circuited, taken apart or thown into fire. They might explode! 4. Leaking or damage batteries/rechargeable batteries might cause acid burns when getting into contact with skin. Therefore, use suitable protective gloves. 5. Conventional batteries must not be recharged. Danger of fire and explosion! Only charge rechargeable batteries which are intended for this purpose, use suitable rechargeable battery chargers. 6. Pls observe correct polarity of batteries/rechargeable batteries and the connection of a re-chargeable battery pack(note plus/+ and minusl) when inserting the batteries. 7. lf the device is not used for a longer period of time (eg storage), take out the inserted batteries/ rechargeable batteries of the remote control to avoid damage from leaking batteries/rechargeable batteries. Recharge the rechargeable battery about every 3 months, because otherwise there may a so called deep discharge because of the self discharge, which makes the rechargeable batteries useless. 8. Always exchange the entire set of batteries or rechargeable batteries, Do not mix full batteries/ rechargeable betteries with half-full ones. Always use balteries or rechargeable batteries ofthe same type and manufacturer. 9. Never mix batteries and storage batteries. Either use eight batteries or eight rechargeable batteries for the remote control/transmitter.

Please Note:
Before the rechargeable battery pack delivery its maximum power, several complete dis-charge and charge cycles are necessary. Always drive the rechargeable battery pack empty, since recharging a "half - full" rechargeable battery pack can cause a so called memory effect. That means that the rechargeable battery pack loses its capacity, it no longer releases all of its saved energy, drive time is decreased. lf you are using several rechargeable battery packs or rechargeable batteries, purchasing a high quality charger maybe worthwhile. They are normally also suitable for fast charging of rechargeable batteries.

For this purpose, proceed as follows:

lf the rechargeable battery pack was taken directly from the vehicle and is still hot, wait until the rechargeable battery pack has cooled down before you recharge.(min. of S-10 minutes) Connect the plug-in charger with a proper mains socket. Connect the rechargeable battery pack with correct polarity with the plug-in charger. Normally the special design of the two plugs avoids the incorrect connection of the rechargeable battery.

Attention:
Do not use any force when plugging in it! For reason of safety place the rechargeable battery pack on a non-flammable surface, eg. a tiled floor. Keep the rechargeable battery pack away from flammable objects. Never leave the rechargeable battery pack unattended. The rechargeable battery pack gets warm during charging, this is normal. separate the rechargeable battery pack from the plug-in charger after charging, pull the plug-in charger from the mains socket. Before using the rechargeable battery pack in the vehicle, wait untill it has completely cooled down. After your playing, please do not forget to cut the connections of battery and ESC!

Do not dispose of used batteries via the household rubbish! Batteries/storage batteries containning harmful substances which been disposed via the household rubbish is prohibited. You can return used batteries/accumulators free of charge to any collecting point in your local authority, so that you comply with your legal obligations and make your contribution to enviromental protection.

Special lnstruction for ESC

Basic functions & Features
'1. The speed controller is fit for 1:16 model car use; 2. lnput voltage: 2-3 cells LiPo battery or 5-9 cells Ni-MH, Ni-Cd battery

3. Continuous current: 25A, Peak: 85A

4. BEC output: 5V 1A 5. Automatically identify the throttle neutral position. When it had detected the neutral position, it would make 3 beeps, thal means it can start. 6. Battery protection: ln the course of running, if the voltage of each cell is lower than 3.0v the ESc
will cut off the output power. 7. Voltage cut off protection: lf the voltage of the whole battery pack is lower than 4.6V or higher than 20v, the ESC can't be started and it will alarm, the alert tone will be emitted once per seCond.

8. Remote control signal lose protection:

l\,4otor drive immediately cut off when the signal transmission between transmitter and receiver is bad or instable; alert beep goes and strikes twice per second ; normal run continues when the signal gets right, 9. Two-stage temperature protection: coolling down through the power limit to achieve when the temperalure reaches aroundl'10'C, if the temperature continue to raise after power limit, motor\^,/ill be intermittently turned off and the alert goes with I beep every two seconds. Now, you have to wait the temperature dropping back to normal and galvanize again to have the normal service.

When first using or changing remote controller, please execute the following steps to make the throtfle range setting. 1. Switch on the transmitter, move the throtfle stick to the end position of forward; 2. Switch on the ESC power, motor will make a "beep" sound; 3. 3 seconds later you will hearl beep again while the highest forward setting is recorded; 4. Move the throttle stick to the end position of backward; 5. After 2 seconds, there is a beep again while the highest backward throtfle setting is recorded; 6. Move the throttle stick to the neutral position; 7 . Aftet 2 seconds, there are 3 beeps while neutral position is recorded and then it comes into the ready status.

The LED Status in normal running

ln normal use, if lhe throttle stick is in the neutral range, neither the red LED nor the green LED lights Green light will flash when it goes forward and the red light when backward; red light is on all the while -7-

when it brakes; when various alert sounds go, the red light will be on.

Trouble analysis and shooting:

two beeps alert per second, it means the remote control singal been lost or the throttle is not in the neutral position; While if 1 beep, the input voltage may be out of the normal range. 2. The motor suddenly stops running while in working state and with alert tone, you can find out the cause through the frequency. 1> if 2 beep strikes per second, it indicates the throttle signal is lost, please check the transmitter and receiver, or check the wire of the throttle channel, such as whether the crystal is loose or damaged. 2> if there are 1 beep alert every two seconds, this indicates the ESC has entered the over lemperature protection mode. Please check whether it is too hot. 3> if the beep strike once per second, this indicates the ESC has entered the voltage protection mode, maybe the input voltage is too high or too low? Please check the voltage of battery pack.
