The president understands that we all benefit when hard work pays off and everyone plays by the same rules. This vision has helped create 5.2 million private sector jobs, reform Wall Street, and repeal Dont Ask Dont Tell. But President Obama needs allies in Congress like Elizabeth Warren, who will fight to move his agenda forward. Elizabeth shares the presidents commitment to health care reform, which is already helping 3.1 million young Americans by allowing us to stay on our parents health insurance until we are 26 years old. Elizabeth Warren also joins the president in supporting the Dream Act, which would allow thousands of young immigrantsour peersto stay in the only country they have ever called home. Mitt Romney and Scott Brown want to roll back these reforms, kicking millions of kids off health insurance and denying many aspiring young immigrants the possibility of experiencing the American Dream. For young people, the stakes in this election are highand personal. There is simply too much on the line not to get out and vote! OTHER TALKING POINTS FOR LONGER OP-ED Young Americans have the most at stake in this election because we are the ones who will be around the longest to bear the burden of bad Republican policy. In 2008, record numbers of young Americans turned out to vote and supported Democrats by a 2 to 1 margin. We are just as enthusiastic in 2012 and will be working as hard as we can through election day to re-elect our president and elect Elizabeth Warren. Presidential Race President Obama is providing young Americans tangible solutions to the specific struggles they face: He doubled funding for Pell Grants, increasing the number of recipients to nearly 10 million students. Signed student loan reform, capping federal loan repayments at 10 percent per year which will help an estimated 1.6 million young Americans this year alone. Under the Obama administration, teachers, nurses, and servicemen will have their student loans forgiven after 10 years if they make payments on time. 3.1 million young Americans are now covered because of healthcare reform. Young Americans used to be one of the most uninsured

demographics of the population--now they can stay on their parents health insurance until they are 26 Mr. Romney would roll back these great achievements Romney has a 5 trillion dollar tax cut, but he refuses to provide specifics and the math doesnt add up. The middle class would end up paying more to offset tax breaks for millionaires like him. Military spending would be 2 trillion dollars higher under Romneys plan, money that the defense department hasnt asked for. The Romney-Ryan budget would cut Pell Grants and eliminate nearly $5 billion from our education budget Mr. Romney wants to repeal Obamacare and kick 3.1 million young Americans off their parents health insurance. Mr. Romney would veto the Dream Act. As Democrats, we believe in a nation where young immigrants--our peers--who grew up here and went to school here will not be deported form the only country they've ever called home. Senate Race Scott Brown stands with Mitt Romney and the Republicans in calling for the repeal of Obamacare. More than 20,000 young Americans in Massachusetts are on their parents' health plans because of President Obama Warren supports the DREAM Act, Brown doesnt (see bullet point above) Students need help now more than ever something Republican Senator Scott Brown doesnt seem to get. This summer, Scott Brown voted against a bill twice to keep student loan interest rates from doubling. And in March 2011, Scott Brown and his Republican colleagues voted to cut $5.7 billion in funding from Pell Grants, which would have left 135,000 students in Massachusetts without college aid. Elizabeth Warren has a proven track record of standing with students. When Elizabeth set up the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), she prioritized helping students navigate the complex student loan process. Scott Brown voted against 3 jobs bills that would have brought thousands of jobs to Massachusetts Scott Brown had one chance to vote for pay equity for women and he voted no Scott Brown supports giving tax breaks to millionaires and voted against the Buffet rule, which would have the wealthiest Americans pay their fair share in taxes Elizabeth Warren's proposals would reduce our debt by 67 percent more than proposals offered by Scott Brown according to the Boston Globe. Elizabeth Warren will focus on developing clean energy to create jobs and fight climate change. Scott Brown voted to give subsidies to big oil companies. If the Republicans win back the Senate, a climate change denier will chair the Senate Committee on Environment and Public worksas young Americans looking forward to a sustainable future, this is unacceptable.
