3 With the recent discovery by Debra Goninan and Russell Dunn of a massive megalithic temple dedicated to Ara moon worship in the Orange district, and three more megalithic sites uncovered by the Gilroys outside the ACT, much new information is being revealed on the Uru civilisation, all of which is to appear in a follow-up book on the race. In the Lithgow area leading Gilroy field assistant Greg Foster and I recorded a large number of rock inscriptions overlooking Lithgow City. These glyphs revealed that an earlier city of the Uru had stood there, Ikaria. Within the last three months Heather and I have uncovered two massive, three-terraced pyramids carved from hills untold thousands of years ago, between which an ancient road once led people to the city. Astronomical rock engravings found by me on the flattened summits show these structures were observatories of considerable importance. ***** Uru, as our new book reveals, was the first human civilisation on earth, a highly-advanced Stone-Age civilisation which would in the course of time spread its culture out across the earth. The name survives wherever megalithic stone arrangements were erected. Long after the Uru faded from the scene, traditions of this race of God who arose in a Great Paradise Land, situated in the farthest region of the Southern Hemisphere surrounded by ocean, lived on in the later civilisations of the Old, and also New Worlds which they influenced. As our book demonstrates, on various grounds, the tradition of the Lost Paradise Land of the South became the Atlantis of Plato [427-347 BC]. Purists will not like this book, but then the Gilroys possess hands-on evidence in the form of various relics, hundreds of rock inscriptions, deity images etc., to support their claims. At last the book upon which Heather and I have worked for so long is ready for sale and is certain to create as much interest in Australias unknown history as our earlier book Pyramids in the Pacific The Unwritten History of Australia did and continues to do so. Even as the book goes to press two major discoveries have been made that have further expanded the size of the Lost City of Kanangra, situated deep within the vast Kanangra BoydBurragorang wilderness. On Thursday 6th October Heather and I together with assistant Geoff Holland, uncovered an extensive area of about 100 square acres of collapsed stoneworks, the outlines of ancient buildings and two large altar stones. There has to be a lot more to this latest section of the city awaiting discovery and it could take years of further mapping and measuring. Following this discovery, we stumbled upon a massive megalithic temple site at another remote Kanangra location on the edge of the Lost City. Besides an extensive former assembly area on the southern side of the structures, we examined three, 30 metre length alignments on an northsouth axis. There was a massive granite boulder at the north-west end of the westernmost alignment bearing two large round eyes, a nose and wide, broad deeply carved mouth. The late afternoon made it impossible for further work so Heather and I will have to return here soon to resume our work here.

4 investigate Australia except for the Gilroys! We believe that we have solved the mystery and present our evidence for the reader to judge for themselves. -0-

Civilisation, in the form of the Uru culture Besides the well over 600 photographs of relics, rock scripts, megalithic structures etc., the book contains a wealth of information, all of which are the results of over 40 years research by Rex Gilroy, assisted for the past 33 years by Heather. The book reveals, among other surprises, that the pyramid form was first developed in Australia by the Uru, and that this people took the first steps to mankinds conquest of the air with the invention of the earliest hang gliders and hot-air balloons constructed on earth. Besides their primitive aeronautical developments they may have developed a crude photographic process with the capturing of shadow images of human and other objects upon specially prepared stone surfaces. They experimented with quartz crystals and sound waves, which it appears had something to do with the movement of massive stones, and they constructed astronomically-aligned stone arrangements which to this day continue to conduct natural earth electricity over great distances for purposes still largely remaining a mystery. It was due to them that Ayers Rock [Uluru] was known to the civilisations of the Old and new Worlds, whose mariners would later sail in search of this Lost Paradise of Mankind and the Great Red Rock that stood at its centre. Our new book reveals hitherto unknown mysteries of our ancient past which we are certain will be exciting reading for a great many people tired of seeing the same old story of Atlantis repeatedly re-published in one book or another which fail to reveal anything new on this ages-old mystery. Otherwise, the available skull-types come from strata dated at around 400,000 years BP [Before Present], consisting of at least one archaic Homo erectus fossil and other late Homo erectus and archaic Homo sapiens. These dates are subject to change as future older finds may yet come to light at this site. One important specimen is the faceless mineralised skull of a large archaic Homo sapien comparable with the May 1972 large archaic Homo sapien skull endocast recovered by my late father, Mr W.F. [Bill] Gilroy, at a Fish River site at Tarana, west of Lithgow. It was here in April 1973 that I recovered a small late Homo erectus skull endocast, which coming from the same deposits, proved that Home erectus populations were still present hereabouts alongside their Homo sapien offshoot around 300,000 years ago. Greg has also uncovered two very small mineralised skull-types which appear to lie outside the main erectussapien line of evolution and may yet turn out to be primates! In April this year Greg unearthed a badly crushed and deteriorated ironstone skull which reconstruction showed to be a flattish domed, long narrow skull typical of archaic Homo erectus. No lower jaw had survived. The hominid would have stood no taller than 1.5 metres tall. Archaic Homo erectus fossils date back at least 1 million years BP in south-east Asia, and Heather and I have found an archaic skull type of this age on the Flinders River, Gulf of Carpentaria, Queensland. It may appear that the Foster specimen is representative of a surviving archaic remnant population, inhabiting the western Sydney landscape alongside his late erectus offshoot, and also early groups of archaic Homo sapiens as late as 400,000 years BP. It is certain however, that primitive hominids were roaming this region at a far earlier period, as from fossil giant and smaller

Over recent months Greg Foster has made a number of intriguing fossil finds at a Pleistocene strata creek site at a western suburbs location which, from my own calculations of the ages of the associated stratified deposits, tends to place the age of these finds firmly in the mid to later Pleistocene period. The fossil remains consist of various bone fragments of ancient marsupials and the skulls of primitive hominids; small mineralised teeth have also been found and other fossil material show the former plant life of the area which suggests a warm, moist and forested landscape. There are signs throughout the western suburbs that at this time the region was a subtropical landscape of lakes and swamps fed by creeks and rivers. The skeletal evidence is poorly preserved due to decomposition of the mineralised material through contact in much more recent times with water, to which the [reddish-brown] mudstone into which the specimens have fossilised is susceptible. Gregs discoveries have necessitated my preparing a separate file to my own researches, for they have opened up a new chapter in our preAboriginal past, providing a picture of primitive Homo erectus at a time when he was evolving into modern humans. As photos are not at present available I have prepared sketches of the fossil skulls, whose reconstruction from their distorted appearance gives some idea of the outward head formation of their owners. Occasional flooding appears to have washed certain fossils to situations where Greg found them and which have to be from an earlier period. These include a very crude basalt dawn tool, or eolith, an 8cm tall by 6.5cm wide and 8cm thick chopping tool of a type used by Homo erectus at least half a million

hominid tracks found around the Sydney district over the years. Much more work has to be carried out at Gregs principal site and an earlier series of dates may yet be possible, although the presence of archaic modern humans in Australia [as from Gregs skulls and my own Blue Mountains/Queensland discoveries] by at least 400,000 years BP seems well established. This places the presence of modern human ancestors in Australia by 330,000 years before the current known arrival date of the Aborigines, and at least 200,000 years earlier than the appearance of the earliest African Homo sapiens. The Out of Africa school of thought will eventually have to discard this prized dogma of scientific conservatism and begin thinking Out of Australia for our modern human origins. -0-

I have received information from a Mr Carl Smith concerning UFO sightings over Megalong Valley and the nearby Hampton-Jenolan Caves Road area to the west of Blackheath NSW. He reports that, at various times during the years 1956, 1967 and 1968 he observed coloured lights drifting high over the valley. During June and July 1967, while living in a house overlooking Megalong Valley off Jenolan Caves Road, I observed strange glowing lights of various colours moving back and forth across the valley in erratic movements [ie from side to side]. On one occasion I was with two friends, Tony and Lorenzo in my fourwheel drive Land Rover driving towards Hampton late one night in June 1967, when we all spotted a huge glowing object moving some distance away over Jenolan Pine Forest. We decided to try and follow it to see what it was and

7 by an old man who had emerged from a nearby dirt road, stop in the car park. He stopped the horse and alighted, then as the rest of the group of men and women watched, he began inquisitively examining their car, and as other vehicles suddenly appeared on the main road at this moment [the road had been quiet for a few minutes] he stood looking as if in amazement at them. He looked quite out of place to the people in clothes that were distinctly from the early 1900s. Meanwhile the cars owner got up and walked out the door to see what the old man was up to. Yet as he reached the door, and before the others watching through the window, the old man, his horse and his sulky just disappeared! It has been theorised by me that these Time Window incidents may occur whenever time travel experiments are being carried out in the notorious Burragorang Valley underground American advanced space exploration technology base. Be this as it may or may not, Time Window incidents continue to happen across the Blue Mountains and these will be fully explored in a forthcoming UFO book of the Gilroys. ***** There can be little doubt that super-civilisations elsewhere in the Universe are so far ahead of us in space travel technology that they are able to bend time in their inter-planetary explorations, having long ago learnt how to employ Time Windows to vastly shorten their voyages across space. The front cover of our book Australian UFOs Through the Window of Time, an excellent job done by fellow club member Lynette Watters, says it all. Time Windows appear to wander about and have no fixed location. Whatever is going on beneath the surface out in the Burragorang Valley, the Time Windows that periodically appear, particularly out on

drove along a fire trail looking eastwards towards Blackheath [across the valley] in the direction of the glow. We were some distance into the forest when suddenly our vehicle was enveloped in a monstrous bright light that lit up the surrounding forest. We got out to have a proper look at the object, and figured it to be some 200 metres above us. The glow was such that we could not make out the shape of the craft, but fear overtook us all and we got back into the vehicle and drove out of the forest as fast as we could, as the hovering glowing UFO began slowly moving away over the range to the west. I have since found out that truckies have frequently been buzzed at night along the Hampton, and also Oberon roads and these kind of UFO stories go back to the 1950s, said Carl. ***** The whole region continues to be the scene of eerie happenings involving UFOs. During December 2004 a man driving a pickup truck towards Oberon at 9pm was buzzed three times by blue and yellow-glowing circular craft, which lit up the road around him as he drove. As the craft flew off to the south he estimated it was about 15m in width. A glowing orange coloured triangular craft was reported seen floating high above Hampton heading south-west about 2am on the night of January 16th 2005 by a number of people. I have in the past spoken of people who have momentarily stepped through the Window of Time in the Megalong Valley and on Narrow Neck Peninsula, if not elsewhere around the country. Back in September 1967 a group of several people stopped for afternoon tea at the Log Cabin Restaurant at the foot of Mt Victoria Pass. The time was 5pm as they sat talking. Their table was beside a roadside window, and as others were chatting, one of the men noticed a horse and sulky being driving

8 The last time a bushfire of such magnitude happened on the Blue Mountains was back in 1957. Had the party stepped back through a Time Window, to experience the aftermath of this, or an earlier devastating bushfire? ***** Time window technology will be explored in our next UFO book, together with what may be going on out in the Burragorang Valley base in this regard. We have new information on the early history of the base which makes interesting reading. Meanwhile strange craft continue to appear and disappear over that valley, and fly to and fro across the Blue Mountains skies day and night, so the UFO Blue Mountains enigma continues. As sightings are starting to build up again it seems that 2006 could be another big flap year! -0-

Narrow Neck Peninsula, move from place to place also. Another Window incident in our files concerns a group of campers in June 1999, who were hiking out on the Narrow Neck Road one morning. They had just passed the fire tower on their way to the end of the Neck when they suddenly passed from the cold, wintery conditions into warmth, and found that they were standing amid a totally burntout plateau [the Neck of course is densely forested], and that the dirt road they were on had suddenly become a narrow track. Looking back they saw thick scrub and trees lining the road they were supposed to be on. Walking along the narrow track some distance further, they could see the surrounding valleys likewise burnt out. The group of young men and women decided to turn back, and as they approached the fire tower everything changed to present-day scrub with the road behind them.
