BRM Day Sunday 7th October saw the centre of Bourne transformed into something resembling a famous street racing circuit as we gathered to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the towns BRM Racing team winning the World Motor Racing Championship with Graham Hill. Glorious sunshine greeted us on the morning, and what followed has been described by many as perhaps one of Bournes greatest days. Both Damon Hill and Sir Jackie Stewart revelled in the moment, and enjoyed their time in front of the huge crowds that descended on Bourne for the day. The Grid Line up after lunch was a particular highlight of the day, and to see the snake of cars weaving their way along North Street with Damon at the head was a simply amazing sight. The sounds, smells and sights of the day will live with those that were present for a very long time, and yet by Monday, Bourne was back to normal again, prompting many to ask, had it all been a dream All of those involved from the Club should be rightly proud of the part that you played in making the day one that Bourne will not forget for many years. Thank you to you all from the BRM Day Committee.
