New Hampshire is for the first time showing Mitt Romney topping President Obama in the presidential race.
With less than two weeks to go, historically blue New Hampshire is showing a 50% Romney to 48% Obama (http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content /politics/elections/election_2012/election_2012_presidential_election/new_hampshire /election_2012_new_hampshire_president) result in Rasmussen's latest polling. Rasmussen has shown a steady move forward for Romney for some time. In October (http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/archive/election_2012_archive /new_hampshire/new_hampshire_romney_48_obama_48), Rasmussen had NH at 48-48, and in June (http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/archive /election_2012_archive/new_hampshire/new_hampshire_obama_48_romney_43), Obama was up 48% to Romney's 43%. In recent history New Hampshire has since 1992 gone mostly for Democrat presidential candidates. Obama won New Hampshire in 2008. John Kerry also won the state in 2004. Though Bush won by a sparse 1.2 percent in 2000, the state was back to blue in 1996 and 92 when it went for Bill Clinton. Along with Romney's gain, the Governor's race in the Granite State has been a tossup (http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/elections/election_2012 /election_2012_governor_elections/new_hampshire /election_2012_new_hampshire_governor) all along, with Republican candidate Ovide Lamontagne holding at 48% while Democrat candidate Maggie Hassan stands at 46%. The numbers for these two have been wavering back and forth with rarely more than a few percentage points between them for quite some time. As to the House races (no Senators are up this year), New Hampshire does have

incumbent Republicans in both its House seats up for re-election. In the 1st District is Republican Frank Guinta (http://ballotpedia.org/wiki/index.php /New_Hampshire%27s_1st_congressional_district_elections,_2012), and in the 2nd is Charlie Bass (http://ballotpedia.org/wiki/index.php /New_Hampshire%27s_2nd_congressional_district_elections,_2012). While conservative activists may not be overly thrilled with either Republican Congressman, at least one of them might be able to keep his seat. Guinta, who faces Democrat Carol Shea-Porter, is rated at plus 10 (http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls /latest_polls/house/) right now in the RealClearPolitics averages. The outlook is not as bright for Bass, who faces Democrat Ann McLane Kuster. The RCP average for that race currently Kuster at a plus 3. In the meantime, Politifact has had a field day knocking down the "pants-on-fire" claims of the Democrats in New Hampshire. Here are just a few of the false claims made by Carol Shea-Porter, Ann McLane Kuster, and the Democrat Party of NH: Shea-Porter falsely claims Frank Guinta voted to cut funds for veterans (http://www.nashuatelegraph.com/news/statenewengland/977303-469/politifactclaims-by-shea-porter-against-guinta-off.html) FALSE: Kuster said Charlie Bass forfeits right to equal rates with TV ad (http://www.nashuatelegraph.com/news/statenewengland/974699-469/politifactnhdoes-bass-tv-ad-forfeit-his.html) NH Dems lie about Charlie Bass' relationship with Big Oil (http://www.nashuatelegraph.com/news/972655-196/pac-wrong-on-bassrelationship-with-big.html) Kuster "stretches truth" on Bass' stance on Social Security (http://www.nashuatelegraph.com/news/966358-196/kuster-stretches-truthon-bass-social-security.html) NH Dems lie about Gunita's vote for House budget (http://www.nashuatelegraph.com /news/980495-469/dems-ad-claim-on-guinta-vote-for.html) Kuster's recycled attack on Charlie Bass still false (http://www.nashuatelegraph.com /news/statenewengland/980308-469/politifact-nh-kuster-recycles-bass-attackstill.html) As Romney surges in swing states and as he gains in New Hampshire, the expectation is that he provides coattails for the down-ticket Republicans on Election Day. With the races in the Granite state so close, even a tiny bit of help will push New Hampshire red.

Its nice to see New England wake up. For some reason I think NJ will flip. The southern half of the state is very conservative, and Bob Mendez the lefty is polling below 50 percent. I think Romney will carry WI, PA, NC, VA, FL, MI, CO, NV,NH,OH, and im going to out on a limb here and include NJ, and OR. Unfortunately, here is Southern CA we still have too many sheep, and hollyweird. My hope is, and this is a big hope that some day this state will turn itself around, but until we get some rational people in elected office, that will not be for awhile.

This doesn't surprise me one bit since Mitt was the Governor of Mass and is a much better candidate than Obumble.

Here in Northern New Hampshire, Romney is picking up steam. Our motto is "Live Free or Die" and people are realizing that they cannot live free under Obama.

I'm an electric meter reader here in New Hampshire so I drive all over in the Lakes-Region and while yard signs may not necessarily mean anything, I can definitely confirm ConservativeChick's estimate of one Obama/Biden sign for every ~30 Romney/Ryan signs. Even a few general "Vote Republican" signs too that I've never ever seen before in my 27 years of life (born and raised here in NH) I don't remember seeing ANY McCain/Palin signs in 2008 by contrast. Tons of Obama signs though back then. I will honestly be surprised if New Hampshire goes democrat again this year. Just a feeling I have.

New Hampshire...united we stand to take our nation back to sanity, civility and stability...and with your help we can do this! But to all citizens...everywhere...electing a President who knows what needs to be done...is one thing...we also need to give him the Congress to enact his plans to do what needs to be done! THE BANDWAGON OF ROMNEY/RYAN...APPROACHING THE 'LOON' MOBILE HEADING US TO THE ABYSS...BUT TO OVERTAKE IT COMPLETELY AND TURN IT AROUND...WE NEED A CONGRESS THAT ARE WILLING TO MAKE THE HARD CHOICES TO GET IT DONE! HOW ABOUT IT...AMERICA? LET'S CLEAN HOUSE!

I was wondering if anyone noticed Obama hesitating and focusing downward occasionaly during the last 2 debates before making responses? The responses sounded like he was still using a teleprompter at times. Does anyone think he had some help from something like the bionic lenses developed for the military? Just curious.

He was looking down at his hands in the first debate because he'd never seen his a$$ handed to him before.

I noticed, also. And a couple of times he tilted his head to the side a little with an expression like he was listening to something - maybe an ear bud?

I think it was something else altogether. His face shows his demeanor...and the camera has not been favorable to him...and his handlers have probably told him to look down so that America did not see his hatred being displayed so vividly towards his opponent! Think about some of those looks...if looks could kill. He had the same look for the PM of Israel! THROW HIM OUT...THROW HIM OUT...THROW HIM AND HIS TELLTALE FACE OUT OF OUR HOUSE NEVER TO RETURN AGAIN...EVEN TO VISIT!

New Hampshire's 4 electoral votes can play a decisive role in this election. Romney has 191 electoral votes that should go his way. Add Florida's 29, North Carolina's 15 and Virginia's 13 and that equals 248. If Romeny can pick up Iowa's 6 electoral votes, Nevada's 6 electoral and Colorado's 9 electoral votes, adding New Hampshire's 4 that would be a total of 25 electoral votes. The total would be 273, enough for election. Funny, we didn't need Ohio and Wisconsin after all. But those people are smart. They see Obama for what he is. How's that new info on Bengazhi working for the Liar-in-Chief???? Obama went to sleep after learning about the terrorist attack and then the next day went on a celebrity fundraiser???? This is the type of leadership we need????????? All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent.Thomas Jefferson

I think your count is on the spot, but don't give up on Ohio no matter what the MSM is selling, a lot of auto service business workers across the state where let go to save GM and leave the golden untouchable UAW contract in place.......even the AFL-CIO rank and file got screwed on the GM bailout so a lot of union workers are real pissed off in Ohio and will vote the pocket book....no slam dunk for Obama at all in Ohio

Don't forget what he said in one of the debates (2nd, I believe), that he came back and was there the day the coffins arrived to grieve with the families. Don't you love that we have a president who can turn grieving on and off like that?

I couldn't care less what her name is. Let's just focus on the fact that as Senate Majority Leader with a Dem controlled House (until 2010 when she was given the boot) she helped get 33 new taxes and fees passed, including an LLC tax on businesses without a public hearing (mandatory). Even she said in retrospect that it was "a bad idea". She passed all those taxes when she herself does not pay property taxes (Phillips Exeter Academy pays them as part of a housing allowance, along with other living expenses because her husband is a dean). She had no problem raising them on the rest of us. That's how she "balanced the budget" as her TV ads have been stating. BTW, the LLC tax was repealed after public outcry. Maggie Hassan is a big FAIL and I'm so hoping that my fellow NH citizens (the non Masshole type) realize this on election day. She compares herself to current Gov John Lynch. We know John Lynch and Maggie Hassan is no John Lynch!!!
