Hi Just downloaded the Gothic 1 demo, read the settings and have found that I can't pick anything

up. Tried the setting that is available and it just doesn't work. Anyone know what to do? thanks in advance. snowwhite 0 Reply industrialsoftware (12) 2/4/2007 9:49:33 AM

For opening chests, I believe you use Ctrl + the up arrow or some such. The control scheme is a tad, umm, unconventional and might take a little time to get used to. However, it's not too bad once you do get the hang of it, as you can ditch the mouse and play with the keyboard only. 0 Reply gneh 2/4/2007 10:04:47 AM

In Gothic 1, you'll have to press the Ctrl key all the time, until your fingers hurt (especially when you have to move several thousand iron to pay for your expensive armour and scrolls) Gabriele Neukam Gabriele.Spamfighter.Neukam@t-online.de -No I am not a troll. My inventory is on the right. I have tried several keyboard key combinations, but the loot never moves into my inventory. Then too, I somehow managed to hit the correct key combo to equip a old sword I found. BUT, brain dead on what keys I did hit to equip the sword from the inventory. Anyone assist Snowwhite and I on this Gothic 1 keyboarding? Many thanks for reading and hopefully replying. drybones 0 Reply drybones 2/4/2007 9:29:16 PM "drybones" <drybones@nospamcharter.net> writes: >Too continue, >I open a chest and the loot appears on the left in a column. >My inventory is on the right. >I have tried several keyboard key combinations, but the loot never >moves into my inventory. >Then too, I somehow managed to hit the correct key combo to equip a old >sword I found. It's been a while, but IIRC put highligh-cursor on the item you want to move, ke ep ctrl pressed and use right arrow key to move item. There are also keys that allow you to move 10, 100 or all of the items at once, I believe holding shift or alt in addition to ctrl, but my memory is a bit fuzzy. You equip weapons, armour and amulets and rings by selecting them in your invent ory, and then with 'use action', that is by holding ctrl and pressing arrow up. I think spells are assigned to number keys by selecting rune/scroll in your inventory, and then holding ctrl and pressing the numer you want to assign the a pell with. It's actually quite elengant after you get used to it, almost all things are don e with those same keys. -What sorcery, what spells, have brought thee here? 0 Reply ear 2/4/2007 9:40:49 PM On Sun, 4 Feb 2007 21:40:49 +0000 (UTC), in comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.rpg, Matti Kujala wrote: >"drybones" <drybones@nospamcharter.net> writes: > > >>Too continue, > >>I open a chest and the loot appears on the left in a column. >>My inventory is on the right. > >>I have tried several keyboard key combinations, but the loot never >>moves into my inventory. > >>Then too, I somehow managed to hit the correct key combo to equip a old >>sword I found. I'll add, however, that if you chose the "alternate" control scheme, that uses W,A,S,D for movement, then it's possible you'll need to replace the arrow keys with the appropriate W,A,S,D key (i.e.: Highlight item on left with W,A,D. Depress and hold control. Press "D" which is your "Right arrow" key). -Zag I thought I could organize freedom, how very Scandinavian of me. ...Bj?rk 0 Reply Zaghadka 2/5/2007 4:25:52 AM "Zaghadka" <zaghadka@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:67cds2p47b60jr3ag7is789prat4b2ic24@4ax.com... > On Sun, 4 Feb 2007 21:40:49 +0000 (UTC), in comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.rpg, > Matti > Kujala wrote: > >>"drybones" <drybones@nospamcharter.net> writes: >> >> >>>Too continue, >> >>>I open a chest and the loot appears on the left in a column. >>>My inventory is on the right. >> >>>I have tried several keyboard key combinations, but the loot never >>>moves into my inventory. >> >>>Then too, I somehow managed to hit the correct key combo to equip a old >>>sword I found.
